It the first time for both of us ever flying a plane. John was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the experience. He made sure we were both comfortable and having fun. I was extremely nervous so this was no small feat. I would recommend this experience for anyone who is thinking about getting their license or just wants to try something new. He was excellent. Highly, highly recommend!

Was considering a Discovery Flight for a Christmas present, but wanted some more information. When I called, Charlie was incredibly helpful in explaining all of my options and detailing each one to me. He told me exactly what I needed to make my final decision, even comparing the different planes to cars to make the idea a little more tangible. Can’t wait for my boyfriend to open his gift on Christmas!

Not certain if I was supposed to hear these things during the day of my wifes check ride, but they speak to the quality of education you will get at Pilotsmith!This is the best endorsement Ive received ... her log book was a thing of beauty ... Learning to fly is a huge investment both in time and money so you need to invest wisely. On recommendation I travelled from Europe to do my PPL with Charlie Smith at Pilotsmith Inc and without doubt I invested wisely.Charlie has the gift of making learning fun and communicates on your level. From day one he gave instant gratification by getting me straight out there, up in the air, experiencing what it was I was striving for before bringing me back to earth (literally) and moving onto what most consider to be the less fun elements of Ground School.His knowledge seems limitless, his patience plentiful and he combines all of the required elements of learning to fly into one package.Within 9 days of meeting Charlie and starting my intensive course I flew solo. Although I still have a few more hours to log to be able get to do my check ride I would recommend Charlie to anyone wanting to invest as I have done.

I am currently a student at Pilotsmith, and I would highly recommend undergoing your flight training here! The instructors are very down-to-earth, friendly people who are extremely competent in their fields of expertise. They truly LOVE flying and go out of their way to help their students in many ways, including providing a selection of hours to schedule lessons and different payment options. In terms of pricing, everything is very direct from the start, too! They offer competitive and low prices for a quality education just because of their love to see others experience flight. You learn at your pace and pay as you go. I’ve flown anywhere from once in three weeks to thrice in one week because of my own schedule (although the more your schedule allows you to fly, the better!) – they are very flexible.The instructors are very good at adapting to be the teacher you need them to be – for me, that includes this perfect combination of gentleness, encouragement, and yet firmness at the same time. My instructor is very patient with me while we practice new maneuvers, and he helps speak out the steps as I practice it a few times, which is so helpful for me. He is also very good with communication, and he always is able to let me know with substantial notice if the weather doesn’t qualify for VFR flying, even though I live about an hour away.I have yet to ask a question that my instructor couldn’t answer thoroughly, and I appreciate the sacrifice and diligence that has gone into making Pilotsmith the well-rounded school that it is! There’s nothing as refreshing as being up in the air, and I’m so glad I chose to learn to fly here! If you’re looking for a legitimate, earnest, passionate, and professional place to take up your wings, this is the place to be.
