The staff is very kind and helpful. I’m new to music and asked a lot of dumb questions and they made me feel good and were very informative and excited for me to be picking up music.

My daughters and I came in tonight to exchange the trumpet I rented for my daughter and pick out another instrument for school. Lily helped us and she was wonderful! She worked with my daughter to try out a couple instruments before deciding on one. I am so happy we decided to rent from Jim’s! All of your employees are super friendly!

Thought I was going in to buy a Washburn and was shown a Teton with much better quality. Im not a musician and pretty much going on the knowledge of the owner. Lessons offered.Our experiences with Jim’s Music in Green Bay, WI have always been very straightforward. We know what we’re looking for, and we buy it there for a very fair price.We do our homework... checking prices online with other places, but Jim’s always surprises us with competitive or BETTER PRICES! We would much rather deal with real people when it comes to musical instruments.These folks have no problem knowing when to offer help, or just have friendly conversations. I’ve been there several times, and just talked with the staff, but never made a purchase. They STILL treated me with the same enthusiasm as when I actually made a purchase. They haven’t lost the personal touch, which keeps me coming back. And I live 55-miles away! I walked in the store and was greeted by Austin. I inherited a beautiful Luna. The strings were set up for a left hander, and I wanted it to be modified for me, a right-hander. Another, local shop in town told me my guitar was worthless, and changing the strings absolutely could not be done. This local shop also told me that I could trade it in for a $100 guitar.Austin, from Jims Music said, anything can be done with music. He also put on Fret Zealot underneath my strings...(its a LED system under the strings to help learn how to play guitar). He polished my guitar, and although I know absolutely nothing about playing he treated me like a musician. Lol. He also finished it in one day. Thank you, for everything you did for me, this Luna is very sentimental to me. 5 Stars Easy!

I had particular scheduling needs for my two kids. Not only was Lori helpful in finding a solution but she was cheerful and willing and solicitous and just plain nice about my complications. This review isnt for me, but for my elderly friend. I referred him to Jims after I had them look at my clarinet and I helped him get everything arranged.His grand-daughter has decided to play saxophone in school, which is the instrument that he happened to play in his youth. We took his saxophone over to Jims, who looked it over and determined that it was a quality instrument and worth refurbishing. My friend was called promptly with an estimate and work was authorized to move forward. The work was done quicker than originally promised, and his grand-daughter will have her like-new saxophone ready to go on the first day of band practice.

I went into Jim’s music looking to rent an instrument for my son. I had no clue where to start. Trent Sinclair was extremely helpful. He looked up his school and knew just what books he needed and he measured him to know what size would work best for him. He let him try it out. I appreciate that level of customer service. Have been a customer of Jim’s Music for years! And had the worst experience ever from a retailer! Brought in some cymbals to trade, and was offered $200 trade. I wanted to use the trade cash to purchase “from them” a new set of Hi-Hats! They jacked the price up because of my trade! They lied about the price when I called another one of their stores to get the real price! They then told me they didn’t want my trade anymore! When I confronted them about it. Very disgusted! I Will tell everyone I know NOT TO DO BUSINESS HERE! They didn’t even try to make things right when I gave them the chance! Stay away!! Go to Heid Music instead! I have brought my business to this store in Iron Mountain, Mi. a hand full of times, and I was never disappointed. The employees are very helpful and well educated in the music field. Even against bigger, well known franchises such as Music Tree, Jim’s music offers better customer service in my opinion.

Shawn Smith has been our contact from Jims music since the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. He has been extremely reliable for the weekly time slot that worked with my schedule for him to drop off music, listen to my needs for class and provide scores for me to check out that he thinks our groups might enjoy. I really liked when he came in with new literature for us to check out. Most of the music was right up our alley and well worth checking out. Its nice to have a rep from Jims come and make sure were getting what we need in a timely and very efficient manner. Nice work!

My daughter has been taking violin lessons with Amy for about 7 months. As my daughter is rather reserved, it’s sometimes challenging to start something new. I am so pleased with her progress on the violin and even more pleased that she enjoys her lessons and practices at home willingly. The most pleasant surprise came when my daughter performed at a recital after only a few months of lessons!!! Rescheduling lessons is a breeze. The staff in the store have always been friendly.

A couple of years ago I started renewing my love of playing music. It had been years since I owned an instrument. I went to see my friend, Travis, at Jims Music. I found an acoustic guitar that I absolutely love and a great amp. I was off and running. Since then I have formed a 2-man band and we have a full array of instruments and equipment purchased at Jims. Travis, Mark, and Adam along with the rest of the staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly. I stop in quite frequently to pick up supplies and am always greeted with smiles and enthusiastic hellos. I truly feel like I am part of the Jims Music family. They have a great wealth of knowledge from many years of playing in bands themselves. When dealing with Jims Music, you will always get straight answers and great prices. You will be doing yourself a disservice if you dont give them a chance to earn your business as well.

I recently viewed Jims Music Used Equipment page in search of a keyboard stand. As I couldnt find what I was looking for, I took advantage of the CHAT button and sent a message with the exact description of what I was looking for. Within minutes I received acknowledgement of my query. By later that afternoon, I received a notification that they had, indeed, found EXACTLY what I wanted at one of their stores. Two days later, it will be available for me to pick up at the store closest to where I live! What kind of incredible service is that!!! SO grateful I decided to shop locally and support this business! Cant beat the price they gave me either! THANKS JIMS MUSIC!!

I picked up a used Princeton Chorus amp and it didnt sound quite right. I brought it to Tom at Jims Music and after a couple of visits he sorted out the issues and restored the 20 year old amp to its former glory. Tom understood what I was willing to spend to fix my amp and did the repairs for a very fair price. Now the amp sounds glorious. Thanks Tom.

I am a band director in the Green Bay area and have used Jims Music since it opened. I have found their service to be outstanding and they have went out of their way to help not only me, but my band students as well. Jims Music filled an important void that was created by the closing of another local music store and has helped keep healthy competition and pricing low. Jims has excellent rental instruments and repair services. The combo department is well stocked and they are very helpful when you need rental sound equipment. If you are looking for a music store I would highly recommend that you stop to Jims Music and see what they have to offer.

A couple months back I began rebuilding my gear setup. I had spoken with ethan right off the bat. He had a good knowledge of sounds from pedals, to instruments, to the amp you used. Jims Music is great! I Have been renting a clarinet for my daughter from there for over a year, and have had only excellent service from the guys at Jims. Travis was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to set us up with the right clarinet and book, and get us out the door in less than five minutes! I would highly recommend this store for any of your music needs.

My intention was to only buy a tuner and guitar strings during their Sunday holiday sale, but I had been struggling with a loosely/poorly installed guitar pick-up (from a different vendor) and decided to bring the guitar in for a check with Jims service guy who wouldnt be in until Monday. Store assistant Jack greeted me with super willingness to help my disturbed self who was needing the guitar to be looked at sooner than Monday due to needing to break in new strings and shed for upcoming gigs. I had already installed my own cheap outside fix and asked him if hed be brave enough to help me perform surgery on it as we both agreed it was probably just a loose washer and nut on the inside. No easy task though needing two people, as it is a thinner hollow bodied classical Brazilian guitar that cannot be easily accessed through a smaller oval shaped mouth. Jack jumped right in to accommodate, and between the two of us, we got it dismantled on the counter, pick-up removed, tweaked, reinstalled, permanently tightened, and guitar back together with new strings. Jack totally saved my day/week/month and stayed later to finish the job. It wasnt even his job to do, but we both figured it was possible, so why not give it a good try. He went wayyyyy beyond the call of duty as an employee, especially on a Sunday afternoon. Definitely going to return to Jims music, local is best!!!!!! Thank you Jack! You rock!

Jim’s has outstanding staff - very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a large selection of items in the store, and are easily able to order any specialty items. Instrument repair and a variety of lessons are offered at the store. It is an excellent place for musicians of all skill levels to find what they need.

When I came in to get a new string for my guitar, I was stunned with the amazing service provided. Jesse went above and beyond. He restrung my guitar while teaching me so in the midst of it. On my way out the door, the strap broke off so my guitar hit the floor. Luckily it wasnt damaged. Jesse even retuned it for me. The customer service here was top notch. This was all done for FREE. I just cant believe the kindness that I received when I was at Jims Music. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back!!

I highly recommend Jims Music. They offer the kind of customer experience that big warehouse music stores lack -- a personal feel and dedication without trying to sell you things that you dont need. I recently went in to demo a Casio Privia digital piano and was welcomed to try one out in a practice room! One of the piano instructors, Kelsey, went above and beyond to help me out. Whether you want to try out some gear, purchase the instrument of your dreams, talk shop and technique, or take lessons from talented musicians in the area, Jims Music is a great place to be. The staff has a lot of experience selling gear and many of them teach music as well, so they know from experience the gear that will provide the results youre looking for. Ive been buying gear from Adam since I was shorter than the counter and he is someone who has years of musical experience to point you in the right direction. I will be teaching drums at Jims Music starting early 2017 and the store is a great place to buy an assortment of sticks, brushes, mallets, and new heads. There is always an array of new equipment coming into the store. A helpful staff that is willing to offer advice and quality equipment are what I look for in a local music store.

I brought my guitar in a few weeks ago to get checked out by Jesse. That guy does an amazing job rewiring guitars and reworking guitars. He fixed the issues I had almost instantly, and his rates were very affordable. The staff is always laughing and having a good time and as a result it translates onto the customers.
