We took dance lessons from Catherine Cameron for our wedding dance on June 12th 2021. Catherine is such a great teacher! She is so nice and knows her stuff. She really listened to us and helped create a dance that worked with our song and what we wanted. She was also very flexible with our schedule. I highly recommend lessons at Fred Astaire; the whole staff is so nice and talented. We are now continuing our lessons to be on the beginner level of ballroom dancing because it was so much fun!

My daughter took dance lessons with Katrin and Maxim at the dance studio. Both of them are very professional dancers and teachers. They taught my daughter a lot and she got a lot of experience there. All staff are very friendly, kind and always ready to help.

Catherine was nice and personable. She made our sessions relaxed and comfortable. We were able to choreograph our first dance for our wedding with her help. It was beautiful. We did find the price a high per session. It would have been great to have a “wedding package” to choose from and then add on extra sessions as needed.

I came to FADS Greensboro as a cancer survivor. I felt like a broken shell but thankfully the FADS staff didnt see me that way. What began for me as dance therapy to embrace life changes, try something new, and MOVE -- soon became my happy place of great JOY! With each lesson, my wonderful teachers made me feel more confident and successful. Its such fun to step into the ballroom world of beauty, music, and lights -- so safe and pristine clean. And the extra bonus is the amazing new family waiting to greet you at FADS! I highly recommend it!

Awesome instruction and AJ is amazing. We have met most of the instructors and I love the way they all work together to help everyone learn. Even though we are beginners we dont feel judged by our skill level being lower then many of the dancers there thats been going for years that compete. The prices are reasonable too for the quality of instruction you get.

Best dance education experience I’ve ever had. Been dancing here since 2014. The professionals are not only incredibly knowledgeable in their field, but their kindness and hospitality bring this studio to a whole new level. I’ve watched the students grow over the years and am amazed at the progress made in technique, musicality, and confidence. An excellent choice for the new or seasoned dancer.

As a long time student I have been especially happy with the talent and attention to detail of the instructors. I especially commend the quality of the showcases and the effort the studio makes to turn out a professional quality production everyone can be proud of.During the time the studio had to close for Covid restrictions they began teaching Zoom classes as an option and also developed a number of on-line tutorials and activities which have maintained our students strong sense of community.At this point both in-studio classes with appropriate precautions and zoom classes are available. Although I prefer in person classes, I have continued to take Zoom classes and find them very helpful and a good value.

I cannot begin to express how much Fred Astaire Dance Studio means to me! It is my health and wellness center, my creative outlet, my second home for 15 years! I have gained confidence, lost weight, and improved my health. Most importantly I have gained a ton of friends and, really, family. The staff are some of the best professional dancers in the world, and the training I have received here is priceless. And it really is the happiest, friendliest spot in town!

We went to Fred Astaire for wedding lessons, to prepare a special waltz for our wedding. My husband had prior experience with ballroom dancing, I had none, we both had so much fun going to our classes and wowed our wedding guests with our special dance. All of the instructors are very talented, nice, and really seem to care about your experience at the studio. The only downside is the cost, the prices are a bit expensive if you are attending frequently, but they do offer packages and discounts. It was worth the money for our special wedding dance and wed love to go back there again in the future.

I got involved as a participant in the Greensboro Dancing with the Stars fundraiser as a contestant. If they (Catherine) can teach me how to dance and finish a routine that was well presented and received, then they are miracle workers. Overall through all the lessons and practice the environment was friendly and warm and encouraging. Too bad the pandemic has put a crimp on everything, but they are reaching out and trying hard to continue to provide their service. I highly recommend them.

The Fred Astaire Studio--no matter how I feel when I go in, whether Ihave some physical pain, or Im mad or sad, I feel BETTER by the time I leave! The instructors are patient, talented, physically strong, and careful professionals, who are also exceptionally nice, caring people! And its infectious! All of the students are friendly and nice, too. Personally, I lost about 40# in the first 6 months of lessons--without even trying (and Ive lost another 20# since then). Honestly, I LOOK and FEEL better than I did 10-15 years ago! AND Ive made new friendships which will last a lifetime. Oh, and did I tell you that its FUN--the lessons are fun, the practice parties are fun (and sometimes they are costume parties which is even MORE fun!). Altogether, my lessons in ballroom dance at the Fred Astaire Studio have contributed to my health and well-being and to my attitude-- Im a happier person now.

Great experience learning a new skill!Although I took only the very intro class (3 private lessons + 1 group lesson) for 25 since I went to a friends night event, I now know whats ballroom dancing is all about and can do several types of basic dance steps. The group exercise class I had was pretty awesome too. The environment is professional, and instructors are quite patient like other reviews say. I would have taken more lessons to be able to dance beyond basic steps if I were in this area longer. Its a pretty nice place overall.
