I dont know another business that has made (and actually enforced!) so many necessary changes to stay open and SAFE for us members. There are many places I wouldnt step foot in during this pandemic, and Im happy to say that Club Greenwood isnt one of them. The livestream and replay classes are also amazing on days when I dont feel like leaving the house, or when I have an extra hour to squeeze in a workout at home. THANK YOU for doing everything you can to adapt and be open for us during the chaos of this year!

After being a member for years this club has gone downhill. I supported them during COVID and found out they did not support all trainers. Now when you cancel, they harass me. I would really recommend if you’re looking for a professional club look elsewhere.

I have recently just joined and I would say for what the club offers it’s really amazing compared to others because it really does offer a lot and if I were to be somewhere else yes it would be cheaper but I would have less. everyone at the club is extremely nice and very helpful and would recommend this place

I just love this gym. The people are amazing. The gym is clean. I have never once seen a piece of equipment out of service. During Covid, they have really gone above and beyond to keep everyone (employees and guests) comfortable and safe. I cant recommend Greenwood highly enough. I also read through the negative reviews. I want to respond to to those that posted during Covid. I am a small biz owner and can fully relate to the challenges that Greenwood had and still has. I went through a very difficult time during lockdowns (personally and professionally). I called the business office and explained that I was going through a very tough time. I received the most empathetic and helpful response. I received a prompt response and had several conversations with them over the coming months. I felt like they really cared about me,not just collecting a membership fee. After that, I said I will never go to another gym again. Greenwood is my home away from home and my place where I can relax. It really is the best part of my day.

Do not join. I supported this club all through the pandemic paying my membership dues for several months without being able to use the club. Due to change in my work location, I no longer could use the club and resigned my membership in writing. They still chose to bill me for an extra month despite my continued support when they needed it most during Covid. Avoid this place.

If youre looking for a gym, look elsewhere. Ive been a member for the last year and am happy to be getting out of my contract. I have been verbally assaulted by other members AND staff due to my disabilities, despite my best efforts to remain as out of the way as possible. Having another patron yell and swear at me, only to have Vivian tell me it was justified even though it was a misunderstanding with all of the health policy changes recently was the last straw. Theres no justification in this setting for someone to curse at and try to belittle someone else because they want to feel important. Then when I was trying to work through the situation, being told to just take a breath because everyone else is stressed is unacceptable. Its the staff mantra...instead of stopping members who are known to be verbally abusive to staff and other patrons, they tell the person on the receiving end to take a breath. That was repeated again when I went to terminate the contract in the hopes that Id reconsider, even though the last couple of weeks my medical conditions had become the subject of gossip with employees. With the changes in the countys health policies on COVID, I was expected to continue paying full price while being limited to the locker room, pool, and two workout rooms that lacked the equipment I needed. Additionally, it was claimed that this discriminatory approach to me as a disabled veteran would require a completely different workout than what I was doing and that I just needed to be satisfied with it. No other option was given. Paula Neubert, the President of Club Greenwood, reiterated to me a number of times that the policies and the Governors executive order are law. That is not that case as I have worked around Constitutional law for almost 20 years as a federal employee; consider that even in situations like hurricanes, mandatory orders from a governor are still ultimately voluntary compliance.I tried to work with Club Greenwood to find solutions with equal access to the equipment I was paying for. They chose a path of discrimination and ignoring problems in the hope of proving compliance to the state. Meanwhile, Paula had no problem lying to me saying that things like the COVID mask policy were being equally enforced while the teen basketball team practices without them daily (including the coach) as well as the tennis players on the courts. So enforcement is entirely discriminatory based on opinions and whims in the moment, all while expecting those who are disabled to still pay full price. This is despite their refusal to follow the Americans with Disabilities Act which is an actual law.No EO from any governor or any policy from any local health agency can override Constitutional protections or federal law. Something that Club Greenwoods advisors and leadership fail to understand. Its a toxic environment and not worth your time or money. There are other gyms in the area that arent so desperate for money to tolerate verbal assault or pursue discriminatory practices, expecting disabled members to play along while ignoring people they favor.UPDATED 11/24/2020: Paula Neubert is standing by the toxic environment. She claims to have spoken with the other member who was verbally abusive and that his claims are that I said the same if not worse. There were two employees in the room, including Lisa, one of the managers for Club Greenwood. I never once swore at or threatened the other member. Yet thats the behavior shes condoning from him. Then Paula had the nerve to ask for understanding for them enforcing illegal and discriminatory policies.Just as a note, Club Greenwoods own employees go elsewhere for using the gym. Why? Because Club Greenwood will ignore that theyre off the clock when theyre using the facility and expect them to handle customers and problems even if they arent being paid. What does that tell you?So much for Club Greenwood being the best part of the day. Avoid it and spend your money somewhere that wont treat you like youre just their next paycheck.

Been a member for a year.Good: Less crowded than a normal gym, awesome locker room (I’m assuming the women’s is nice too), great (and a lot of) classes, friendly staff. I love that you can go to workout at almost anytime and it not be crowded. Adult only pool.Bad: I feel like they have kids basketball practice here ALOT. I would not be happy if I wanted to hoop, but that’s not for me. Expensive...but that’s why the weight room is not crowded so maybe the price isn’t such a bad thing. No alcohol at pool.

The hours do not accommodate working professionals!!!! The club is great and has all the amenities one could ask for as long as you do not work a normal day job. The price is pretty high especially given the hours it is open, let alone the classes offered. Perfect for the kept housewife or mistress.

I joined this club in 2007 and I am proud to say I love this place. It is the best part of my day. Love the group classes and personal trainers! The culture here is amazing and the employees are like family. The club members are friendly and social. Amazing CULTURE!The luxury of the locker room is a great way to spoil yourself. I did leave and try Lifetime which was horrible and I am thrilled to be back at Greenwood Athetic Club! Love! I have lost so much weight and changed my life for the better. Dont bother going anywhere else for best experience for the whole family no other club comes close. The negative review about the remodel is disgusting and wrong. I am thrilled to have a club that keeps everything state of the art and modern. Thank you Greenwood for all the upgrades and remodels over the years.

Been a member for 6 months and finally to a point that Im switching gyms. For a monthly fee of nearly $150, adults never get access to the basketball court after 4 pm on weekdays and the swimming pool only has 1 to 2 lanes available after work because they are catering to kids activities. If youre an adult that wants to use the gym after work dont join this one unless you only plan to use the cardio and weight equipment.

MAKE SURE TO READ BEFORE YOU GIVE THIS MONEY HUNGRY GYM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! Greenwood Athletic Club has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, let me tell you, they only want your money! We had been members for a year (it is a very expensive club to join, you know that going in). All members were given a price increase or the option of holding current rates by paying a year in advance for 2015. We paid the year in advance. However, what was not disclosed was the fact that they would be renovating the mens bathrooms during the year (which is what my husband loves about going to the gym, relaxing in the locker rooms, taking a nice steam and whirlpool after a long day and workout). The re-model has now been going on for 3+ months. Needless to say my husbands experience has completely changed and he is very upset. They send out surveys as the claim their member experience is very important to them. However, when we gave a negative review as to his complaint that he hasnt used the club as much because what he likes the most has been unavailable. The response was merely, were sorry, nothing we can do. Our hands our tied and the re-model was much needed. Since we paid a year in advance we didnt have the option of going down to a single membership for me and putting his on hold until the re-model was finished as others did and took advantage of. So we asked, okay, since we paid a year in advance, could you give us a credit for what we would have gotten going down to a single membership. Once again, nope, we cant do that. If we offered that to you then wed have to offer to all our members and anyway you got a discount when you signed up for a year (back when they didnt disclose the plans). But they did offer us a gift to show us how much they appreciate our membership. The gift turned out to be 10 Guest Passes. Yes, thats right. They offered us something that literally has no value to us, the actual member. But they would like us to refer people to their gym by offering them the opportunity to experience it as a guest. You can bet that will never happen. Seriously. I was floored. So then I said, okay, its clear that this isnt the gym for us. Since we cant come to a resolution, wed like to end our membership immediately (we have 2 months left in the year). Can you please refund the last 2 months. Wait for it....nope, they cannot do that as all year long contracts are non-cancelable and non-transferrable. Huge surprise. So basically they are willing to do absolutely nothing in regards to resolving our complaint. And quite frankly, if they had done anything at all that was relevant and valuable to us, we would have been members forever. But Im a firm believer in not supporting a business that doesnt take care of their customers first. And I dont believe you should support a business like this either.

If you are a parent looking for a Swim Team for your child, you should look else where. Coach Rob Putnam hit my son in the back of the head at a swim meet in December. We have left the team because of Robs rash actions. Anyone who strikes a child should be a concern to any parent! Other parents have complained about his actions but nothing has been done!
