We appreciate how the school focuses on kindness, leadership, financial literacy, public speaking, STEAM, and skills for becoming a community member and world citizen.

What a relief it has been to find Aspen Academy and have our 6th grader accepted and enrolled. We knew based on our research that Aspen Academy was our first choice for our son, but we had no idea just how extraordinary the school actually was until his first school year began in Fall of 2020. We have been blown away be our son’s daily experience as a part of the student body. The social emotional health of the students and administration, coupled with the continued striving for academic excellence amidst a pandemic is remarkable. The teachers are excellent, authentic, passionate educators who are teaching their favorite age. This detail makes a huge difference. There is a distinct personality type who works well with middle schoolers and Aspen has curated a cohort of educators that are dynamic and simply wonderful with the students they teach. My favorite part of the day has been drop off and pick up where I watch my son greeted by joyous, present adults as he begins his day and watching him bounding out of the school with a different friend at the end of each day, tired, but chatty! There is always something to share about the rich curriculum or the relationships he is developing. We feel like one of the richest families on the planet, it is incredible to have the privilege of such an abundant educational experience in 2020-2021 and beyond. We are originally from the SF Bay Area in CA and the one adjustment for our family has been a difference in diversity. The school is working to create an educational environment that feels like a fit for a more diverse community. We are hopeful for the continued growth of the school and community.

Our children (6th and 8th grade) have been at Aspen Academy all their scholastic careers until now. Aspen has been a great environment for both of them, and I appreciate the fact that the parents, the faculty, and the administration here at Aspen really care about the childrens education. Our children have made great friendships, and we have also made many friends in the Aspen community as well. As my son graduates in a few weeks, I look forward with hope, l look back with a little sadness, and I am excited to be here at the present in this great community. Go Aspen!

My children attended Aspen Academy from 2nd - 8th grade. We have had a wonderful experience which was capped off by a great 2020-2021 8th grade year for my son. (That is saying a lot in a year dominated by COVID.). The academics, leadership, teachers & families all make this school AWESOME. Thank you Aspen, we will miss you!!

Where do I start? My oldest moved to Aspen Academy about a year and a half ago from a public school. Little did we know that COVID would hit a year or so later, and it would further reaffirm our decision. Firstly, Aspen is not just an amazing school that caters to each childs needs individually, but it is a community. Maybe that sounds cliche, but so be it. From the day we joined, I have felt nothing but inclusion and love. And its personal. People care not just about the students, but also their families. So, along comes covid. Within about 12 hours, the school completely pivoted to 100% remote learning, and my child didnt miss any education. To say I was impressed is an understatement. This was not a substitute teaching platform rather a full scale, 100% hands on education. My child maintained her grade level education and I think even gained amazing life skills on how to better adapt to situations and different environments.Fast forward to this school year. Aspen Academy was one a very small % of schools NATIONALLY that has provided in person learning all year. This was no small undertaking. Leadership invested early and heavily into ensuring that in person learning was safe and available to all students - the COVID protocols put in place have been amazing from brand new air filtration systems, to sanitation, etc. But, unfortunately, I am immunocompromised, and we could not take advantage of that for most of this year. I had to keep my daughter at home until I was 2 weeks out from full vaccination. So, what did this mean? It meant that her teachers doubled / tripled their efforts to ensure my daughter learned just like the in person students. She worked remotely, but again, not on a different platform like most other schools, rather as a full participating student in all of her classes along side the in person learners. Teachers sent us all materials needed, including packing up extra supplies we could pick up at the school. There were check in calls from teachers to ensure her learning was on track and that she felt included. There were town hall discussions with the head of the school on a regular basis for the few of us that needed to do remote. And heres the best that still makes me tear up - the head of the school reached out to me personally to ensure that I was ok. Me. The mom. how are you doing, Amy? Those words will forever be seared into my brain. Im a single parent, and this year has been incredibly challenging. To have the school reach out to ensure I personally was ok was a game changer. So where are we now? I was able to get vaccinated and my daughter went back to in person learning this week. The staff has gone above and beyond to ensure she feels included, welcomed and at as much ease as possible. As Ive told others, its like her lightbulb turned on again.I cannot say enough about Aspen Academy. I actually get emotional about it given our experience this past year. Man, are we fortunate to have found Aspen.

We started our 3rd grader at Aspen Academy this year, and it has been wonderful for our family. Our experience with the teachers and staff has been fantastic from the beginning. The small class sizes and loads of one-on-one attention have been game changing for him. And now with the COVID-19 situation, we have been able to experience this excellence first-hand as the transition to online learning evolved. Aspen has been incredibly proactive with the situation and was preparing for all contingencies well in advance. School was closed on a Thursday and by Monday, full school days with real-time teaching and curriculum were online for the students. The team is dedicated to providing the best educational experience possible, despite the challenging situation. We could not be happier to be an Aspen Academy family.

Aspen Academy has been the perfect fit for our family. My daughter was struggling in her local Kindergarten and was getting bullied, so she had started turning inward and was at a really low confidence level. We decided to look at our options. We chose Aspen Academy because they were inline with our beliefs. Do Good . Be Kind. Work hard! Not to mention they also inspired entrepreneurship in children. We decided to give it a try and couldn’t be happier. Within the first two weeks our daughters self esteem was apparently growing. She no longer tried to hide at the back of class. The teachers were encouraging and so amazing. Two years later we are still extremely happy with the decision to switch schools. Our daughter is such a leader now and runs a lemonade stand during the summer all for the benefit of Children’s Hospital! She understands all of the ideals of the school. She works hard, does good, and is the kindest person. I am beyond happy with this school. I highly recommend it to anyone that thinks their kiddo just isn’t getting enough from the school they are at.

Our daughter has attended 1st - 3rd grade so far and we are enrolling our son in PK next year and we have loved it. What stands out to us is the focus on kindness and the entrepreneurial spirit. We have seen the faculty get involved and take action whenever kids were doing things that were not that nice. Kids will make mistakes and they really went above our expectations to make sure that it was a teaching opportunity for all involved. We also love the entrepreneur expo that each grade has a business and that the 8th graders run multiple businesses for the school. We feel that learning and practicing coding, public speaking and how to start and run a business are skills that will help out kids be successful in the future. And we love the teachers and faculty - Everyone is very supportive :)

Weve been at Aspen for 6 months and couldnt be happier. Our whole family fell in love with Aspen during our tour. From the thoughtfully planned curriculum, to the engaging, energetic teachers, to beautiful facilities- we were truly impressed. The school has exceeded our expectations. The teachers work hard to nurture student growth in all areas- social/emotional skills, critical thinking, organization, responsibility, etc. They invite the students to engage in mature and meaningful learning experiences (ie. city planning, programming, finance) to apply educational content to real world experiences. We have watched our children take more responsibility for their learning and develop confidence in their growing skills during the short time weve been at Aspen.

I attended Aspen Academy as a student from a young age and was taught a surplus of academic as well as life skills. I have now worked two summers as an intern for Aspen and can see the many faculty members that work incredibly hard to work towards building the best educational experience for their students. Everyone in the building truly embodies the schools core values.

I am consistently impressed with the faculty and staff at Aspen Academy. In addition to providing a boundless place for students to learn and grow, the teachers are constantly evolving their teaching skill sets, which in turn, provides students (who may have different learning styles) the opportunity to evolve with confidence. In addition, the curriculum challenges my kids to think like an entrepreneur would – it’s all about solving real problems in a collaborative and sustainable fashion. This results in a community of young learners who carry themselves with their chin up as they are genuinely proud of the work they are doing, the place they go to learn, and they gain confidence knowing they are part of a community that supports their growth mindset.

I had a bad experience as the school was extremely unprofessional and wouldn’t respond to my email and calls . My son was interviewed and they were past the date to tell us the status. After multiple attempts the lady calls back to give us a time to call again. She didn’t and we had to again chase. Finally some lady called to tell us why my son didn’t qualify. Which was fine. She said she will call me in August for the admission again. Since we already paid n all. Of course.. NEVER called back till today!!! It’s been 1.5 years. Is that the skill they are teaching their students? Being UNACCOUNTABLE?

Aspen Academy has been an amazing school for my 7 year old. The teachers really challenge them and push them to be free thinkers. The time and dedication each teacher puts into each individual child is amazing. They cater 100% to the childs specific learning styles and have an unbelievable way of pulling out the best in each student. My son loves going to school everyday. We are so happy to have chosen such a leadership driven school for our son and are grateful for the great Aspen community.

We have two kids at Aspen Academy. Our oldest started kindergarten at Aspen and is now in 8th grade. We could not be happier with the quality of academics, teaching of leadership skills and focus on community service. The children at Aspen are encouraged and academically challenged. The math program is outstanding. The teachers are truly the best and are very dedicated to the needs of each student. Our children have thrived at Aspen Academy. On top of all that, the Aspen parent community is very strong and social. The parents know and care about each other. I could not recommend Aspen more highly.

We have two children at Aspen Academy and this is our 3rd year at the school. There is one rule at this school, Be Kind - It is the rule and the expectation of all students. We love the small class sizes and the personalized approach to teaching. Our children love their school and are challenged in a way that makes learning fun and interesting. The community is very close and supportive. This school encourages parents to not only be involved but to be part of every step in making this the best possible learning environment. I love being in the school, seeing the interaction between the teachers and students makes it apparent this place is special.

I was introduced to aspen through a friend who had kids going there. I had my own preconceived notions about “private school” and was not at all interested but promised my friend I would do a tour. I was blown away by everything and everyone during the tour. We made the decision that day and one of the best decisions I have made as a mom for my son. I only wish I would have known about the school when my daughter was younger to give her that opportunity. The forward thinking and community created at this school gives me hope for the future of education. If you are looking at schools, do yourself a favor and schedule a tour!

We have been and continue to me WOW’d by Aspen Academy everyday. Our two older children attend the school. They are two totally different types of students with different needs, different learning styles, different interests and they are both excelling more than we ever could have dreamed of! The student to teacher ratio at Aspen is so low that every students individual needs are perfectly challenged. Our children have made really great friends that all come from wonderful families. We couldn’t be happier. It really is our second home.

We originally chose Aspen Academy after looking at several other public and private school options because of their commitment to academic excellence, small class sizes, and the school’s ability to provide personalized instruction to each student based on their individual level of proficiency in each subject. However, it is the school’s focus on developing each child’s character, sense of leadership, and awareness of their community that truly makes it a unique environment. The opportunities that the school provides to each child are amazing. A typical week for each child includes spending time with a mentor/mentee, participating in music, drama, art , Spanish, physical education, and dance, gaining exposure to public speaking, performing in front of an audience, and financial literacy. The wealth of experiences that each child receives at Aspen would make most adults wish they could go back to elementary and middle school again. My wife and I cannot say enough about the amazing facility and staff at Aspen. Their love for teaching shines through on a daily basis as they work tirelessly to provide the support each child needs to take risks and to try new things while continually being challenged to do their personal best. The school is filled with children that are happy and engaged, which is the strongest endorsement anyone could ask for in a learning environment. We have been very happy with our choice to send our children to Aspen Academy, and feel like the school does an excellent job in helping to prepare each child to be successful in life. While we recognize that there are many wonderful schools out there, Aspen continues to be a perfect fit for our family.

Aspen Academy continually helps develop social skills in my middle school children. Exposure to group projects, public speaking and debate are part of daily curriculum. Both kids are continually being encouraged to act, speak, and give presentations in a public setting. The soft skills the kids are working on are pivotal to success in our world. They have used tools to create TV-like broadcasts (presented in front of entire school), podcasts on books they have read, and my eight grader had to do stand up comedy (and enjoyed it). This semester they will travel with their classes to Washington DC(6th grade) and to a Costa Rica coffee farm(8th grade). The academic classes are excellent (rigorous and the intense) but the social development my children are getting is what will set them apart as they enter high school and beyond.

This is our second year, and we love Aspen. Class sizes are small, so our daughter gets individual attention. She has a personalized learning plan, with math and language arts specifically targeted to her level (every child does). The teachers and staff are warm and caring, and they know each parent. There is a great emphasis on leadership and community service. Aspen truly is preparing kids to be leaders tomorrow - by giving them the opportunity to be leaders today. Starting in 4th grade, the kids are mentors to the younger children (JK-3). My daughter adores her mentor, and cant wait to be a mentor herself. 8th graders run 3 businesses - and are expected to put together business plans and 10 year life plans. The parent community is close, warm and caring - it truly is a community. Parents and family members commit to volunteering a certain number of service hours to the school - so you have tons of opportunities to influence and contribute to your childs education.Overall, a great place for your kids if you want an academically challenging environment that prepares your child for life.
