THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! The Metro East Web Academy is AWESOME! The teachers interact with the students in a very positive and encouraging manner. The principal and vice-principal are very supportive and encouraging. The curriculum is interesting and engaging, on-line, it is easy to track your progress and turning in assignments in real time means you get instant gratification for your efforts. Parents can get on-line and track their kids progress. I HIGHLY recommend The Metro East Web Academy to any student who wants to blaze their own trail, be ahead of the curve, learn a lot, master their computer skills and have a wonderful educational experience that the old bricks and mortar schools are failing to provide anymore.

I am a student at MEWA, and its been an amazing experience overall. The teachers are helpful, the classwork is challenging, but fun to do, and the open labs on campus is a welcoming environment. The club I participate in is very fun, and there is a club for almost everyone. I would highly recommend attending.

Overall Id say this school is a pretty good school but it definitely isnt for everyone.1. The BrainHoney software always adds assignments; over holidays, spring breaks, etc. (Ive had to do assignments on Christmas day...)2. If you have any important responsibilities outside of school, its really hard to stay on pace.3. The teachers can be very unresponsive.4. There is a lot of pressure put on you when youre behind.5. BrainHoney glitches sometimes so you cant complete schoolwork. These glitches last from 15 minutes to a full day.BUT1. You do have the freedom to finish school whenever you want and can and create your own schedule.2. The teachers are all kind.3. The curriculum is advanced so you really learn.

I am a student at this web academy. I have encountered many problems with this schools system and program.One of my biggest complaints is that we students do not get holidays, breaks, or snow days (other than winter and summer break) off. The teachers say we can have it off, but assignments are still due during those times. This means that if I chose to take Spring Break off, I would have a weeks worth of assignments to complete the next week (along with the next weeks regular work).Another problem is that sometimes the school program (BrainHoney) often drops out or stops working. Sometimes a whole day will go by where I cant access my school work. This puts me behind on my assignments until they can fix it.In addition to these problems, I have found that the teachers can sometimes be very unresponsive. I will send an email with a question about an assignment and sometimes have to wait a week before getting a response.The staff are all very nice people, its just that the whole system doesnt function very well (in my opinion).Overall, I would not recommend attending this web academy. I know they are new and trying to work out the kinks, but I would advise you to wait to join until they have a more functional system (if that ever happens). I will not be attending this web academy again next year.
