This place is amazing! I would call it my home away from home. I have been training here for several years, and I cannot speak highly enough about this gym. Many of the instructors are in law enforcement, so they have a practical understanding of how these techniques work in everyday life. The owner, Dave Freetage, is the best BJJ coach that I have ever met, and I say this having visited a LOT of jiu-jitsu schools. The gym truly does have a family feel. There are kids in the building nearly every time that I am there. The pricing and methods of billing/payment are very reasonable as well. Not only are they the best deal in the Columbus area, they are very reasonable in working with individuals and families in the event of any issues. To give a personal example, I recently missed a few months of training due to an injury. The management was very responsive to my messages, and they froze my payments while I was out.In summary, GCBJJ is the real deal! The instructors are humble, personable, funny, and knowledgable, and they produce extremely high level competitors.

This gym is AMAZING! The staff all very professional, and the track record speaks for itself. This is the TOP Jiu Jitsu gym in Central Ohio. Just show up at a local competition, and you’ll see that GCBJJ separates itself from the competition greatly. The level of EARN IT and RESPECT for ALL people, as well as the love for art of Jiu Jitsu is pure, focused, and phenomenal. Upper belts are eager to teach and share the wisdom they’ve learned with beginners, and the TEAM or FAMILY environment is contagious! I train here, my son trains here, YOU are ALL welcome here.

Mats look like they have never been washed. Instructor is angry at all times and eager to insult and admonish newcomers. You couldnt pay me to come back to this lousy excuse for a Jiu-Jitsu academy

Great school with incredible instructors. Dave and his coaches work very hard teaching anyone the sport. They are very passionate about bjj. Many black belt instructors. High level Mauy Thai classes Even the kids classes are great. If you are out to compete in bjj or MMA or to just learn and get in shape this is the place. You will be welcomed by a great bunch of people. Like a family.
