The apprentice did a great job, and the instructor was always there to provide feedback and guidance. I never felt like the apprentice over stepped any boundaries or took on any task she wasnt capable of. Hopefully I served as great practice! I received several services over 3 hours, getting a fairly complicated style, and paid less than 30 bucks in the end. So I got great work done at an extremely affordable price and I am grateful for that. The atmosphere was fun and comfortable, though maybe a little too comfortable at times, where people tend to make it awkward. Everything was cleaned after it was used on me, and the checkin and checkout processes were painless.

Such a great experience already and I haven’t started yet. So much excitement & empowerment. Can’t wait to start.

In my three years of schooling at Empire I went through multiple educators and saw the school in many stages. I struggled with health issues and no matter what, through the thick and thin ALL the educators came together like a giant family to support the me and all the other students alike with anything needed. I can truly say I’ll miss this place and cannot wait to come back for my educators. Thank you so much Ms. Pankratz for being my biggest supporter and Mrs. Baker & Ms. Stacy for staying on top of me, making sure I completed my education. I can finally say I DID IT!

I just graduated on 8/24/2021 and passed my State Board on 9/28/2021...it was a tough 2 years but it was worth it!! 🥰🥰🥰

BEWARE OF THIS “SCHOOL”(A lot of the 5 star reviews are from students who were told to write empire a good review for a class assignment and students were afraid of getting in trouble if they wrote an honest review! I was one of them during that time)Absolutely a terrible school, never had supplies for the practice work in class that you needed to do, which you pay over $20,000 for. They allowed students to physically assault others, the educators specifically Mary Baker will bully and call students disturbing names. Mary baker demanded me, a disabled veteran student to move my car from the only handicap parking spot there is, even though she was aware I was physically handicap and still demanded me to move. They make you pay $800 for a tablet that is in the kit but it only cost $150 at Best Buy/other stores. They will take your money and leave you in a class to learn on your own pretty much. VETERANS, DO NOT WASTE YOUR BENEFITS HERE!! We have dealt with a lot from the military and we don’t need to deal with it when we are done serving our time.

The only salon I could find that will wash and braid my daughters hair. Then I had my hair done by the same stylist and my curls are gorgeous and my hair smells great! $48 for our hair. Cant beat it! Thanks Emily

To any up and coming cosmetology students. I was enrolled in the Harrisburg Empire Beauty School program. I am writing this review to inform any individual who is looking to attend here. Let my mistake be a lesson to all of you. Unfortunately, throughout my time at empire which was a little over a month time frame. I had decided it was not for me. For the many reason of doing hair was fun on me but not doing it Day in and day out on someone else. I was neglected to be informed that I’d be placed into collections for a few THOUSAND dollars while I am currently still at a university in a full time program. I went to the school to inform them that even though they accept financial aid like every other university why they don’t have the same regulations of helping young adults that are still in college wait to pay their money 6 months after the student graduates. I was told by the finance department “You owe Empire money and they are owed this amount.” Empire does not care for people getting ahead. They care about staying afloat. I’m not going to sit here and say the other negative things about the institution, particularly Harrisburg, because it comes with the territory of the location. But I will say BE WISE when you make your decision to attend here because it is A LOT of money for a 9 month program and for a career you may not do your entire life.

Any school that would let someone threaten others in this day in age and then let them return to graduate because they are so afraid of the race card being played against them is a disgrace.

Great atmosphere and the staff makes you feel welcome and accomodates your needs. Fast convenient and always available when you need any service completed.

I get my hair permed here and it was done in a good fashion and a great price. The ladies are also really nice to talk to.

If you have Blonde dyed hair stay away from here I tried it several times and one time is was red brassy or ghost white. the instructors on the floor dont know how to use toner and to leave the color on long enough there pictures to prove it.

The staff and hairdressers are very friendly, I just noticed that the senior hairdresser I came across to doesnt look like he is a senior, looks like he is still a student, but he tried his best and friendly.

Tried to go in as a walk in and was told that without an appointment they would not assist me unless i waited an hour and might be able to grt a hair cut which was no gaurantee after i called several time to make sure it was ok to just walk in the lady at the front seemed very annoyed with me just walking in and she came of extremely rude.

They will double book clients i had my appointment for today gonna just give my appointment to someone else what kinda service is that cancel my appointment give it to someone else no consideration for me than the person they gave my appointment dont even show up she calls that she will be late im always early for my appointment not very reliable for customers at all
