I would definitely stay clear of the school especially if you have a student that has special needs. SomeOf the teachers are good but the administrators/special ed director leave something to be desired, so run don’t walk from the school

Before starting at CCA my 2nd grader was enrolled in virtual school through her public school - this is entirely different from CCA. We have found CCA to be much more informative and flexible - I feel much more comfortable with the subject and work loads included with CCA. They have clubs and virtual field trips to help kids socialize and expand their interests. The teachers are very nice and do their best to maintain relationships with students and parents. There’s a program CCA uses which replaces all of the sites and apps we used for virtual schooling so my daughter needs to really sign into one place for all of her needs. Parents are also able to track progress through that site.I have only good experiences with this school however I do suggest you schedule your days around your students abilities. I have my daughter do everything she can do independently during the day and anything we need to go over together we can do in the evening - super convenient.**i found this amazing - CCA sent us a full box of supplies for school including our books, paint, paper, etc. this is super helpful and the quality of the products are all good.If you’re on the fence about CCA, you can always call them - their customer service is always on point.

My daughter has more freedom in areas of her education that will prepare her best for college. She is a junior this year and easily enrolled two weeks into the school year. Next year she will have internship opportunities in her choice of career. She is blossoming in academics. I have my academic student back! In public school she was beginning to struggle and now she flourishes!

CCA has been a Godsend for my family! After not having a voice in our district school, it’s a breath of fresh air to be a part of a school with such excellent communication between students, parents, teachers, and administrators. I truly have a voice in their education here. My kids are happy and are growing in ways I could never imagine. At just 10 and 11 years old, they’ve gained incredible independence as well as time management and communication skills beyond their years. CCA has also has given us field trip, educational, and social opportunities beyond what I ever could have expected from a cyber school. We have said goodbye to brick and mortar district education, and we’re never looking back. Thank you, CCA!

Love this school. They seem to really care about the kids. My kids old school would wait until it was to late for my kids to get cought up to even contact me to tell me there was a problem and they have a 504 plan . I was told that they didnt have enough teachers to call everyday. At CCA i get a call at least once a week to check on them.

I registered for CCA over a month ago and I havent started school yet. Because of Jennifer Clarke she is making it more tough for me to get my education and I havent gotten my school supplies yet. I review this as a one star because of Jennifer Clarke and how she isnt giving my things to learn. And also my parents are starting to give up because theres nothing we can do about it because I haven’t started school yet, and it’s been like one month and a half. My parents are thinking that a registration shouldnt be this hard. Based on other people’s parents they, it looked like a very good school and it wouldn’t take this long to get my supplies and my computer.

I am a student at CCA, transferring here during 9th grade. CCA has an amazingly detailed curriculum that is challenging and overwhelming at times, but its schedule is flexible. My teacher experiences have been absolutely amazing, majority have taken great efforts to keep contact with me in order to help me succeed even when I fell behind to assure my success. Not only have they helped me but have taken time to get to know and understand me as well. Im close to graduating now, Im sincerely going to miss my time at CCA but am happy to have spent the most important school years of my life in a school dedicated to making sure I will succeed and ready to enter the real world.

My children atteneded Philadelphia public schools. While we had some awesome teachers there are so many problems with the school district. So i pulled them 6 years ago. 2 graduated. One this past year. The school is amazing! Excellent teachers!! This isnt a school that you are going to just sit home and do nothing. Its a very good curriculum. There are field trips, access to teachers. Recommend highly. Best decision I made was enrolling them!

Reconsider this schools learning resource center if you have children with special needs!! My 7 year old son was removed from the center for a month after he was choked by another student. They have no idea how to handle small incidents that happen occasionally with elementary children (as I was informed they only had high schoolers previously). However the online school itself is great, you just might have to stand and up for your childs rights to be treated with decency & respect 😣

This is the worst thing I could of done for my child. You want answers you do not get them. Communication is horrible. Social outings none. You ask about them no response. Students and parents communicating to teachers 90% do not get back to you! Ask your home room teacher that is a joke you ask a question and you get very short answers with no explanation. So if you want your student to fail or if you do not want your questions answered CCA is the place to go!

At CCA, students have the flexibility to do their school work at their own pace. You can quickly move through the subjects that feel easy to you and take more time on the content that you find difficult. Teachers are very accessible via phone, email, and Live Lessons and they are extremely prompt in responding when you reach out to them for help. There are hundreds of wonderful field trip opportunities each year in every genre possible - STEM, Arts, History, etc. In addition, they are transitioning to teacher-created content and getting away from Pearsons cookie-cutter curriculum, which I think is a fantastic move! The only reason I did not give CCA 5 stars is that this year, 17-18, has been a little tougher than past years because this transition has had some bumps along the way. Once they work out the kinks, I anticipate next year to be great again!

I didnt think registeration would be this complicated. Its been over a month now and my relatives didnt start school yet. Theres no need for Jennifer Clarke making things more tough for us. Im reading the reviews saying there process was fast and real quick, but i am not seeing it. Things are getting unnecessarily long and complicated without starting school, i can not imagine how it would be when they actually do start.

We have three daughters that we enrolled in this school. Two of them got enrolled pretty easily, but the third one was a real nightmare to get through the system. As long as everything is entered into their system correctly it works. Of course, because it is such a large organization, if their is anything out of the ordinary it seems like nobody in the organization knows how to handle it. I had requested a change in the math course for my 10th grade daughter and was told it would take two days to get an answer. For two weeks I made dozens of calls and sent a number of web mails but could not get anyone to respond and tell me what needed to be done to get the process moving. I started the process in the beginning of July and now am told that my one daughter will not have her materials in time to start the school on time.If I had it to do over I would NEVER HAVE ENROLLED them in this school and am still contemplating sending them to a different school anyway.Bigger is not always better.

This is our 2nd year with CCA and we absolutely love it! My kids thrive in this learning environment and there are ample opportunities for socialization, awesome field trips and daily contact with teachers and staff. Ample opportunities exist for students who are struggling with certain subjects to get personalized help from their teachers and parents are spared the burden of having to figure out kids work on their own.

This is a terrible learning program, if I do say so myself. The teachers are always late for LiveLessons, never grading any of your submitted assessments, never responding to very important Webmails, and they can sometimes be rude and or bossy. For people who deal with bullying, it could definitely be a good choice of learning. I personally do not like the schools administration but, if it works, I guess it works.

Here it is the last day of the marking period and my son has 136 assignments waiting on approval, my son was given instructions to Choose a TOPIC to write a research paper on and then TODAY was given a 0 with the comment Choose a CITY to research Half the time homeroom teacher does NOT answer emails only to later call and claim NO Contact for several weeks or will send an email starting Sorry I will be out of the office ..... and then email me on SUNDAY that she has had NO Contact.... Between that and dropped lessons, do follow bullentin board, Dont follow bullentin board, flipped classroom, skipped lessons, and delayed grading it is down right ridiculous and confusioning.

This year will make four years of my family being a part of Connections Academy. We were a part of the regular bricks and mortar setting because thats all we have ever known. But I got tired of all the bullying, and all of the negative experiences that my family had to deal with. I Googled schooling kids from home and thats when I saw different choices of virtual schools. Thats when I saw Connections Academy which at that time I never heard of because virtual school was new to me. Ive researched Connections Academy for a year before I decided to enroll my two children. Because I felt like I needed to get more information about Connections Academy before I give any organization my personal information or be involved with and lets just say Connections Academy was and still is the best choice, the best school for children. Finally, after a year of researching I decided to enroll my children and lets just say it was the best choice my husband and I have ever made for our children and now we have all four of our children a part of CCA from k-7th. Were going to have our children to be a part of CCA until they graduate from 12th grade. CCA is that good.Connections Academy works well with kids with special needs, speaking from personal experience. The curriculum is great, the field trips are wonderful and the staff are amazing. Im a tough cookie to crack but with CCA they have won my heart. If they won my heart I think they will win yours as well. Just give them a try!

When my son was in 1st grade at a brick and mortar school, he had a terrifying experience that would shape the way he felt about learning. He came home with bruises on his stomach after a group of five 2nd graders knocked him down on the playground and took turns kicking him. The school did nothing to the students responsible but made my son feel badly about what had happened. After that day, my son hated school and I worried about my son’s safety. To me, that is not how a child’s learning experience should go.Two years ago, as we considered various educational opportunities, we came across Commonwealth Connections Academy (CCA) while researching online public schools on the internet. We were impressed by the various clubs and activities, numerous field trips, and wide array of elective courses. Not once, have I regretted our decision to enroll with Connections Academy. They have truly been a blessing in our lives. My timid son has come out of his shell and looks forward to visiting friends during field trips. The staff, from enrollment to teachers and learning support to computer technicians, is knowledgeable and friendly. When I requested testing for learning disabilities, my request was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Throughout the entire process, I knew they had my son’s best interests at heart! I have also found the teachers to be accessible and quick to respond to questions. They allow my son the extra time he needs to complete assignments and have worked together with me to find ways for him to express his thoughts in ways in which he excels. The flexible schedule is another invaluable part of the Connections Academy learning experience. It allows us to take a break when my son gets frustrated with a lesson or to switch to another subject for awhile. As someone who has pain on a daily basis from fibromyalgia, it allows me to be a part of my son’s learning experience without having the stress of lesson planning and documentation for the state that would be necessary for homeschooling. It is the professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to their students and ensuring that the students have the tools they need to learn and grow that continues to keep us with CCA. Thank you, CCA for your dedication to quality education that allows children to soar! We look forward to the years ahead as we continue to be a part of the CCA family!
