The classes were fun and informative. Jay was an enthusiastic instructor with lots of positive energy. The school provides valuable tips and tools for finding a job in a timely manner after graduation.I especially appreciated the small class size so that each student received the attention and personal instruction necessary to grow into a confident bartender. It was also possible to schedule extra practice time at no cost if you needed it. Thanks Jay and Nadine!

I LOVED my time at CBS. They definitely prepared me for a job behind the bar and gave SO MANY tips and tricks, not only for on the job, but for GETTING a job and making money!! The instructors were knowledgeable, the course was very in depth and to say we had fun, would be an understatement. I was able to easily get a job within the first few weeks of graduating!! What an awesome experience! The class was way more than I expected, which was a wonderful surprise. Jason the instructor was so knowledgeable and patient. After attending Capitol Bartending School, I feel like Im really prepared to hop behind a bar and start mixing. The instructors and staff are super friendly and genuinely want to see you succeed! Im a lot more confident in my skills after attending. Definitely worth it.

I recently attended Capitol Bartending School in Harrisburg. What a great experience. I knew very little about spirits, liqueurs and mixing techniques. They covered everything! Nadine Riess was fantastic as an instructor and coach. She approached each class with enthusiasm and her knowledge of the industry was first class. Here is the kicker, it is very important to follow their instructions. They have been getting their graduates jobs for a long time. If you do everything they ask from a job searching standpoint, they will bend over backwards to help you. THANKS CBS!!!!!

I highly recommend this class to anybody looking for a hands on, interactive learning experience. The staff is awesome, the class is a blast, the program is extremely well organized, and you learn so much in so little time.

I am so happy I attended Capitol Bartending School. Not only were the instructors extremely knowledgeable but were also very supportive thru the entire process.All of them genuinely want their students to succeed not only during the class but after graduation as well. Now that Ive graduated Im experienced and anxious to put my new skills to work behind the bar and I receive regular job postings from the school for restaurants/bars looking to hire Capitol graduates.So thank you to Nadine, Jayce, Jay and Meghan for sharing your knowledge and expertise. Graduated from here on may 31st 2007. I am still amazed at how much that school helped me as a bartender!!!! I quite literally gained ten years worth of knowledge In 40 hours of training! Would rate 10 stars if it were an option!

This class was phenomenal and engaging and really taught me more than I could have asked for about bartending. Once I was cleared to use their online job search feature, I landed my first bartending gig in less than a day!

Going to bartending school is a Catch 22. If you are absolutely clueless when it comes to making drinks like I was then you will definitely learn a lot within a short amount of time by attending this school. My instructor, Pete, was fantastic and he was very knowledgeable about making drinks. But people attend this school because they want to eventually land work as a bartender. The thought process is that a student will invest $795 into attending this school and recoup that $ within 1-2 weeks of working as a bartender. That would be a terrific concept if one actually landed a job. It is extremely difficult to get hired as a bartender with no experience and employers do not consider your time at bartending school as experience. Several employers that I spoke to actually laughed at the idea of me attending bartending school (yeah the egos of several bar owners in Harrisburg, of all places, run pretty high). My advice is you can either get hired as bar back which is like the utility man/garbage man of a bar/restaurant and eventually work your way up to a bartender or invest less than $100 in some cheap drinks at your local liquor store, Youtube how to make popular drinks and then practice on your own - then lie on your resume about your previous work as a bartender.
