The teachers here are welcoming and if you ask them for help they will gladly. This school is so diverse and tries to root themselves in lifting others up and achieving highly. If you have Mertes for period three know that especially as you get older that program will continue to support you and I’m sad to be leaving Thurman next year.

Went here for 8th grade and because I was really interested in their choir major. Honestly I had a really great experience in this school. I’d even say this was my best year academically which helped a lot for my freshmen year of high school. Teachers were nice, never had a bad experience with anyone. I rarely ever heard about fights or bullying here. The choir program was definitely my favorite part about this school, they do concerts at actual performing arts centers and it’s really well done.

I love this school, its very fun and in the years I went there it was a very good environment. Mrs. Wilder deserves way more credit than shes getting so if you enroll into any major, I definitely recommend theatre.

Im a new 6th grader here and its the best.

I went to this school 2016-2019. They don’t allow backpacks and i had carpel tunnel at 11 years old from carrying my binder all day every day. I’m 16 and i sleep with a wrist brace like an 80 year old

I think that this schools isnt all bad people are rude but you are lucky that you dont have uniform and I will go to this school they have awsome clubs and its a big school but j dont reccomend making friends because they will be rude or fake

Keep in mind what i´m saying is based off of what i saw during my school tour and presentation. Starting off with the good things, the teachers were extremely friendly and seemed to be very kind. The school was very big and had SO MANY ACTIVITIES! The theater room was so interesting and i saw many familiar faces. The performances were played out so well and everyone looked like they were having fun. The students really seemed like they knew what they were doing and had fun. However, some of the girls there were being so catty. A lot of the new students were being harassed, or felt uncomfortable. I would recommend really looking in to this school before making a final decision. Especially considering the students were being racist and insensitive. I decided this school was not for me, but i definitely could be the right pick for you.

My son started that school in Feb 2017 and the last few weeks of school he had major issue! Someone punch him in the face after school..Kids, that was asked question, lie and I pick up my son, right before it happen. Try to find the kid that punch him, but he ran and my son didnt see him.Went back to school and call the police, did a report and was told that my son was lying! I pull him out, three week before ending of school, due to I knew he wasnt safe!I was told over and over and over this school is great! Maybe the teacher and some of staff was good, but it was the environment... i could sit here and go on about what happen. I pull him out knowing it will hurt him but I dont regret it....This school must changed, far as parents that have to stay in the zoning. I suggest, to move. I move to Summerlin and the school out here are better and more charter schools.. I like charter schools, more one on one with teacher and smaller class room also! Some school uniform, but to me it good for the kids! Prayers to the victim family!

I love this school so much and I am a very annoying person but I dont get yelled at I simply get asked to stop. They are very kind.

Kids out of control, administration lacks the integrity and responsibilities to operate a school. No leaders are found here, no take charge attitudes. The school lacks the basic core values. The facility is need of a good renovations, not just paint. A simple walk thru of the school will show you!

I do not like this school. I go here and you see fights all the time. Kids bring bad things like drugs. There is always fights, I feel like none of the teachers care about me and they want you to leave. All the hall monitors do is yell and tell you to walk or get out of the lockers. There are gangs that always push me around when Im in there way. We are going full magnet next year. Im pretty sure people dont want that. We will have seven periods. You have to be careful with who you can trust. Sure there are great friends but a lot of the kids really arent good. The teachers really dont do anything about it either. It is also very hard to pass classes. I have good grades, but I have to work very hard to get them. Bullying is a major problem here and it seems like the teachers dont care. It seems like there is a fight every week.

I love TWMS! I really am enjoying it. My teachers are fantastic. The principal Mrs. Katona is absolutely phenomenal! Thurman White is so close to being a five star school. If you have kids send them there for middle school

Yeah, bad things happened at this school over the years. Bad things happen everywhere, it could have happened anywhere. Im not entirely saying it was the 16 year olds fault for getting stabbed, but she shouldnt have been at a middle school anyways. Im rating this school based on the teachers and education, not because there was some unfortunate events. I do go to this school and I love it, but bad things happen everywhere, that doesnt mean the school is a bad place for children to learn. Plus all the teachers are very experienced, and the school provides great education to those who want to be in the performing arts.

I went here for middle school honestly best 3 years ever, our whole class will never forget the great times we had here. Best middle school you can get!!!!

My daugher goes here and she loves it. At first she was afraid to go here but on her first day of school she maid friends and she is really happy and proud of her school. ☺

Teaching is good. today we were in a shelter in place for the longest time and there were police everywhere and it was very scary.

Thurman white is the actual worst school you could ever send your child to. and this is not just from a student perspective. I learned nothing. all the teaches are awful. there all super nice to parents but when there gone the turn into basic slave masters. the office staff. the principal councilors the deans. even up to the people who sell snacks to us are the worst people on the planet. I can write a whole paper on why this school is the worst. people bring drugs. all the time. most of them are high 20% of the time. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE

Im going there and I sure hope they choose me. Because they have so many subjects and I want to go in dance during school and voyeball and the looks is awesome from the out to the inside.

I really want to go here! It sound awesome (Except the stabbing) I go to greenspun and its horrible my math teacher hits the students and yells at everyone! I hope I will go to this school because im zoned for it and I hate Greenspun!

My dad is a dean ( Mr.Wikler) I go to almost all the games and I am hopeing to be able to there.

I gave this school 1 star but i wouldnt give it any if i had the option because it is horrible. the dean mr. wikler gave me unfair punishments and this school is extremely ghetto they bus up kids from boulder highway and who live by the air force base the kids curse and are very sexual and fight and one time mr. wikler gave me an unfair punishment for defending myself and a teacher sent me to the in house room to do a reflection for not having a pencil i would not recommend this school for anyone at all also there is a major bullying situation that they wont even bother to take of trust me do yourself a favor and do not come over to this school they try to make it sound cool because its magnet all magnet is is a fancy way of saying that they need more of your money and trust me magnet also magnet schools are all ghetto

We are new here in Henderson and we got lucky to be zoned in to a newly declared Magnet School for Performing Arts. Going into 7th Grade in a new state and a new school is a little bit intimidating for any child. She really wanted to be in Performing Arts and we were late on the application. Mrs.Flynn the MAGNET coordinator is very friendly and accomodating and gave us hope that if someone drops off that they will call us. She was true to her words and we got lucky. Mrs. Katona the principal is so involved with the parents.Its only the first quarter but my daughter made nice friends and doing really well and achieved all As on the first quarter and teachers recognizes them for doing the work . When we met the teachers during the open house they are all enthusiastic about their own subjects and made my husband and I think positive of her future in Thurman. I highly recommend this school , dont just look at the test results when you are looking for schools, consider all aspects and balance of good education, programs ,innovation and sports.
