Brian is hands down one of the most technical instructors I have ever encountered. I have taken multiple privates and classes from Brian down in San Diego. I highly recommend his school if you want to learn solid jiu jitsu technique and want to be a strong competitor.

For those living in the eastern Oregon area - you should realize how fortunate you are. I have trained with and under Brian for several years during his time down in San Diego, and the level of his jiu jitsu is undoubtedly world class. Ive watched him dismantle some of the worlds best in the training room and in competition. If it were not for some unfortunate injuries that he has sustained I guarantee you he would be among the absolute best in sport jiu jitsu. His systematic and highly technical approach to teaching is top notch and guarantees results if you put in the work on your end. At least give his gym a try, it could change your life.

I have known Brian for nearly ten years. He has not only been a training partner but a great friend. From the first time we trained together, I was learning something new. He has been a wealth of knowledge when it comes to not only the technical skills of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but the athletic performance, and philosophies behind the martial art. He continues to push himself within art, keeping up to date and with current trends and evolution of the sport. His teaching speaks for itself in the fact that you can see his students being able to comprehend and execute the techniques in a short amount of time, while learning in a way that allows them to retain the information. The PNW is priveleged to have such an amazing Black Belt!

The Eastern Oregon / Washington State area is getting a gift in the form of top notch Jiu-Jitsu instruction from Professor Brian Morizi. Before I started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I had been wrestling since I was a kid, so I have been on undefeated Jr. High and 4A High School State Championship wrestling teams, as well as olympic style and collegiate D1 teams. I bring this up because through these experiences, Ive seen some of the best coaching & teaching there is, and thus can honestly say that as Ive watched Brian teach over the years, Ive seen him move up to the top. Personally, he helped me get past the BJJ purple belt to brown belt, and medal in the worlds largest tournament - the Pan Am - after coming off of illness. He is very personable and has the ability to teach with detail in a way that the message gets to the students. He himself is very driven in every thing he does, and I know that he really wants to make this new school in Hermiston a success and his students from the area the best they can be, regardless if their goals are to compete or simply just to get in better shape to improve their health. You cant go wrong on this one - I recommend trying to become one of the first 30 students who get the free gi if you can.
