Honest review: Very suffocating environment. Horrible school. Higher ups do not listen to students requests or concerns, we have no voice here. They are very strict and show favoritism for different classes. They split the genders which I see as unnecessary, as they will have to interact with each other in the future anyway, so it just makes us awkward when talking to each other.Dont get me started on how suffocating this place feels. Your future is practically handed out to you, they have BARELY any selection in the classes you are raking in the 11th and 12th grades, ESPECIALLY if you are doing IB. You must strictly follow ythe orders of the adults. You have no voice. You have to wear a uniform. Sounds like... a prison, right? Because it practically is.I feel so limited here and like Im wasting my time, because I probably am. They dont even have physics classes for the 11th and 12th grades. How ridiculous is that? What if my future career requires it?Dont get me started on the favoritism. Higher ups are very clearly more strict to some classes compared to others. In general, all the students get their voices ignored, but even more so for some classes that they dislike for whatever reason. Theyre pretty strict and it feels like they randomly make up ridiculous rules just to inconvenience us. Sometimes they give us orders that dont make sense, and when we ask for a good resson, they dont have any other than do what I say!!1!!Also, the arabic classes they take pride in teaching arent really that good. There is too much variance between students level, even with 3 classes. And the learnjng pace is very slow, too. For reference, I have been in this school for a decent amount, but in my years worth of having Arabic classes, I have not learned that much. I have much learned more when I was studying japanese independently out of my own interests, and I havent even hit a year of studying yet.Overall, I have had a very negative experience within this school. I have only been here for a handful of years, and I have had MORE THAN ENOUGH. Shame on this school for priding themselves on being islamic. That is why I am leaving, alhamdulillah.この学校が嫌い。 .ضيعتوا وقتي. يخرب بيتك

I would like to express my happiness with this school. I have one child in 2nd grade and admitting the second child in KG this year.My first child has been attending this school since it first opened and it has been a very smooth transition given the fact that Arabic is considered her second language.Special thank you to the Principal Ms. Salwa Linjawi and the elementary school principal Ms. Sumaya Jaghlit for hiring excellent teachers who are well experienced socially and academically. They have made my child feel KAA is her second family. My child has grown to love KAA and has already learned a great deal about her culture, religion and overall learning.Given the fact that my child was born and raised here, I was hesitant of placing her in an English/Arabic school. However, through these past three years, she is now fluent in Arabic and learned most of Juz Amma of our Holy Quran. Ms. Salwa Awwad who is the head of the Arabic department has made the Arabic curriculum easy enough for young students to capture the true essence of why we send our children to learn their native language. Of course this cant be done without the Arabic teachers help, and guidance. I would like to specially acknowledge Ms. Rana Jabi. Ms. Jabi teaches with love. Since distance learning took place this year, Ms. Jabi has engaged her students in a way that keeps their attention and focus during class time. Her follow ups ensures me that she sincerely cares and I as a mother take that into consideration and respect.I am investing in teaching my children in a clean and safe environment that I strongly believe is the right decision I have made.

Most of the reviews are old or are written by petty expelled students. Administration should expel more people in my opinion. But this school has gotten a lot better recently and should keep it up. However, they should invest in better teachers for high school and sports.OH and if your kid has lost their Islamic values don’t expect this school to work magic on them!Coming from a non saudi, the Saudis are way better than the kids coming from Public school who are constantly insulting them and Islam. I wish they would stop allowing kids from public schools in past middle school.

I am a parent of three children. Wanted to have an Islamic environment and good education for my kids, King Abdullah has delivered both and more. The staff is very courteous and helpful specially the admission office. Ms Soudad is great person and immensely helpful as this was my first time with the private school admission environment but she made it very easy and extended great help throughout the process. The children have already attended two weeks and are extremely happy and made good friends, Lunch is halal and my kids love that unlike public school. The Parent portal is state of the art and help us to stay connected with the kids performance and ability to communicate with the teachers.Overall the experience is great and will strongly recommend parents to believe in this school and dont pay any attention to the online reviews they dont mean anything. Lets make our Schools more stronger and better by participating in their success. May Allah reward all who are working diligently to educate our kids with both Islamic and formal education.Ameen

Most teachers are good, but there are a few who are bad at their job. Any Saudi in the school is nearly untouchable by the rules, therefore they usually can do anything they want and get away with it. Honestly most of the students who are from Saudi are not smart and you would get better results from a 5th grader The E-Stem-A in this school is honestly a horrible program. The main problem i have with them is that they dont punish students at all, especially if youre a Saudi. The only thing that is good in the school is the lemonade they serve in the cafeteria for free (and it runs out 3 times a week!)

At KAA, the school looks nice, but I don’t really enjoy the “learning communities”. I really enjoy the classes here, and the teachers are pretty nice, they yell sometimes, but it makes sense. I feel pretty free as a student here, and I think all the rules are not hard to follow. Overall, this is a good school, and you should give this school a try and enroll your child here.

Terrible. I hate this school in so many ways. what I just said might sound petty, but keep reading and youll see why. (please excuse my grammar and spelling mistakes, I dont have the time to correct them.)if you are thinking of bringing your kids to this school, just know that your kid will become severely more depressed and will come home tired and wont talk to anyone. please, if you love your child and want the best for them, do not bring them here. PLEASE. NO ONE DESERVES TO SUFFER THE WRATH OF THIS SCHOOL.the first reason is the teachers. there are some good teachers that are very understanding and will take the time to reach you and help you in every way they can, but most of the teachers couldnt care less about you. some of the teachers wont even teach you, they will give you a paper and make you teach yourself, while they sit in the front screaming at any kid that dares to talk to their friends (which, of course the kids will talk to their friends! they never give us any time to talk to them other than lunch!). some teachers will make us late for our next class for no good reason, and then when we do go to out next class, the teacher will mark all of us as tardy, even though it isnt our fault we were late! these are only some of the examples of the horrible teachers at our school.the next reason is the uniform and the overly strict dress code. the school is divided into a girls school and a boys school. Im in the girls school, so Im forced to wear the girls uniform. the uniforms worst part is the skirt. the skirt is the most uncomfortable and itchy thing I have ever worn in my life. and it wasnt always this way! last year, (2017-2018) we were allowed to wear pants (but this year, the girls cant) and the skirts were so much more comfortable. and the dress code is the most strict and unnecessary thing to ever exist.1. you cant wear a sweater. people actually got detention for wearing A SWEATER in class. you have to buy the schools sweater (which doesnt even have my size, and isnt warm AT ALL).2.if you wear shoes that have any color other than black, you go straight to detention. this also includes shoes that have white on the bottom, or shoes that have a logo. once, I saw 80% of my class go to detention because their shoes have a logo on it.3. if you wear a hair tie or a hijab that is any color other than black white, or beige, you get, (you guessed it) detention.sometimes I feel like this school cares more about the dress code than the actual students and their education.also Im not sure if the same rules apply to the boys side, but I have heard rumors that they are a lot easier on the boys, but maybe its just a rumor. they are also much easier on the highschoolers, especially the seniors. they let them cut us in line at lunch and they let them wear whatever they please. (Im currently a 7th grader, just an fyi.)the third reason the horrible, inexcusable food. sometimes I go throughout the day starving because the food is absolutely revolting. in the cafeteria, you can get expired milk, hair on your food, bloody meat, bugs on your food, and other questionable stuff on your food, and the food is always either overcooked or undercooked (those arent rumors, by the way, it all happened to me personally). also the silverware. you can find spoons and plates with yesterdays lunch.there is so much more wrong with this school, but Im too busy doing my piles and piles of homework to finish. also if any of my friends are reading this, hi Im taif from 7th grade.

This is one of the worst schools I have ever been to. I have studied in 4 states and this is by far the worst academic experience I have ever received. Some teachers are not qualified. Some of them do not even know or tell us what they are teaching. Some of them give us videos and a worksheet and tell us to learn on our own. E-STEM-A is the single most waste of time in the world. We have a class that is 2 hours and 30 minutes long and we just sit on our phones and do nothing. We are required to stay after school from 4-6pm and we get home at 7:30 PM while leaving home in the morning at 7 AM. A whole day wasted for nothing. While many other schools have their PE during school, we are required in order to graduate to do the after school for 2 years. Some students in this school have no respect for anyone and it takes about 10 minutes to get them to be quite in the beginning of every class. They do not respect the teachers. They do not respect the students. They do not respect the rules. It is basically a prison with a bunch of retards as your fellow inmates. They do not care about their education nor about other people wanting to learn. One piece of advice I have for anyone trying to get their child into this school DONT!I am a 9th grader and this has been my experience based on the 2016-2017 school year.Thank you and goodbye.UPDATE (5/11/2017): The rumor is that there was a delay in teachers paychecks so their salary was two weeks late. How does this even happen. Ok Easter they had 1 week where their healthcare provider was cut off. Amazing work upper management!I have requested an early leave from school because I am traveling. They rejected my proposal. They did not give a valid reason. While some students whose parents are diplomats have no real reason as to their departure (they just dont want to go to school). Their request was fulfilled almost instantly.

To say the truth, a lot of these comments are old and talk about the old principal and the first year of KAA, but as of this year there isnt much talk about it or reviews. I am here to let you know how the school has been ever since our islamophobic principal has left.1. They replaced Chris Faisandier with Salwa Linjawi, who isnt an upgrade from him at all. They say that shes only a temporary replacement until we can get a permanent principal, but in all honesty thats a lie to keep us from complaining any further. Shes trying to bring the whole ISA feel back again, which is so stupid because whats the point of opening a whole new school just for the same dictatorial ruling? Too bad we cant get rid of her this time.2. They only care about your uniforms. You can literally have the WORST grades and behavior, but not get punished just because of your perfect uniform. Meanwhile, kids who get straight As and follow directions, get yelled at for wearing pants (if theyre a girl) when it is technically an option for our uniform, and serve through numerous detentions or get constant calls home.3. They do NOT care about your education at ALL. However, they all seem to enjoy pretending to! If you want to be challenged or take higher classes, you can forget about all of that when you get here. They will all tell you the same thing. Go talk to the counselor and he/she will help you. Really? How about you introduce us to this counselor so we dont have to come to you to begin with. If you do end up talking to the counselor, theyll probably say that you cant do this and that and youll probably be better off somewhere else. All just to not annoy the administration to change your classes and schedule.3. LITERALLY NO ONE IS CERTIFIED. Tell me how an art teacher, who was originally an elementary teacher at a different school (where she was uncertified to work at) , can suddenly become our counselor? Can you focus on getting REAL teachers before a counselor so we dont have to go to one to complain about all our uncertified and horrible teachers?4. Ah, favoritism. Just because you might say you dont play favourites, doesnt mean you dont! In every classroom you can see it, and it is sad to see it go beyond that. The principal plays favorites as well, so even if we complain about a teacher for being bad, she will ignore you. It wouldnt be too bad if it wasnt old, retired, and racist teachers or uncertified ones that your having problems with.5. This school has a lack of extracurriculars. Wait, my bad. IT HAS NONE. Unless you count the 20 minute club meetings we have during lunch once every other week . Or the ones run by seniors who are scrambling to get another thing written on their resumes with over 60 people joining the club. Sixty people! And what have we done since the beginning of the year in August? Almost nothing. It may seem like this is a really big complaint, but this is only the tip of the iceberg. I could write a million more reasons to avoid coming here, but honestly this school does not deserve it. This school will never be fixed until we can get a leader with a vision and a mind. It sucks that all the people who fit those requirements in the world have better things to worry about. So were left with the useless ones with spare times. Not only to they make the beautiful school ugly on the inside, they suck the remaining money out of it too. It is such a shame. This school could have been something big for the muslim children of America. Instead it is a gambling game for the snakes who try to take over.

My experience is really weird at this School. It seems to me that this school and staff prefer ARABS ONLY student. I am saying this with full responsibility and utmost honesty. My daughter applied for an admission on 4/28/2017 when Ms. Barbara Balduman was the principle of the school (or at least thats what they told us). I provided all of the required paperwork in timely manner. We signed up through SignUPGenius and then my daughter took the took a placement test on 05/11/2017.I sent multiple emails to Ms. Balduman and to Ms. Adeela (dont know what exactly her title is?? Then at one time Ms. Adeela told me that Ms. Balduman is no longer with Academy. I asked Ms. Adeela several times the status of my daughters placement test and her admission.Every single time she promised me to call me back with a status. Last time when I spoke to Ms. Adeela, she told me that she cant even find my daughters file anymore??? Once again she promised to call me back with a status, it almost 2 months and I have NOT heard back from her.At the same time, when my daughter took the placement test, a friend of mine who happens to be an Arabic, his two daughters also took the placement test. He has informed me both of his children were admitted to the academy within normal time frame without any problem. Now I am convinced that this school and its staff is involved discriminating practices where they follow certain rules for some people and treat others like if they dont matterI hope that they understand that discrimination in this country is NOT Only illegal but it is also CRIMINAL. I am just ignoring them for certain period of time, but their current discriminating practices continue then I will have no other option but to report them and get them to justice.ONE thing they NEED and MUST understand that this NOT SAUDI ARABIA where they treat certain groups of people like animals and there is no human dignity in that country for certain ethnic group. THIS IS USA!!! AND They MUST start to learn how treat everyone with RESPECT and EQUALITY.

Since a great amount of people have already addressed apparent issues with the school, I will try to focus on what I personally imagine to be one of the least-addressed issues.Dear prospective students and parents of students, one of the greatest reasons that may have sparked your interest in the school is that it is a state-of-the-art facility for Muslim students. The school consists of an area for prayer and wudu so that students will be able to pray within their day. Though, if compared to the Islamic Saudi Academy, the prayer room doesnt even seem to be intended for Salah. It seems more of a recreational room with rough carpet that is meant for walking on. While the rest of the school is sparkly-clean (except the LCs on some occasions), the prayer room always has dust, dirt, and hair. Isnt Islam all about cleanliness? The carpet definitely gives off the idea that the school did not have a prayer room as a priority. In ISA, the carpet was soft, had lines to guide individuals to pray, the masjid had shelves with quran, a clock for prayer times, and a minbar. For an impressive looking school with fountains and elevators, there would have been some assumption that the administration would pay more respect to the prayer room.Dear prospective parents who wish to send their children in order to learn Islam and Arabic...They will surely learn those subjects! Though, it is unlikely in my opinion that the lessons may be applied beyond classroom walls. Among students (especially in highschool), I have been informed that there have been acts of dating, doing drugs, theft, and drinking. I have yet to believe this is what Muslim parents want their child to go through. Though, I will say this: THE DECISION TO COMMIT THESE ACTS ARE NOT THE STUDENTS FAULTS. The fault lies within the administration themselves, which I believe are individuals failing to set examples and encouraging students to call towards their Islamic knowledge before doing something. The Islamic teachers are, as I understand, trying their best. Yet there is much more work that needs to be done.I, at first, was not upset that the principal that has been chosen to run the school was not Muslim, and in fact, appreciates Islam. Though there is a large difference between appreciating Islam and understanding Islam. To understand Islam, the principal would know better than to shake girls hands (even PM Trudeau knew better!), sit behind females while praying, and address a childs monthly cycle. The administration would show understanding towards Islam by stating the truth with things like the status of promised laptops. Understanding Islam would mean to encourage joy and excitement for Ramadan by perhaps decorating the halls (students always looked forward to it in ISA for Eid). What appalled me the most and served as a vague premonition regarding the decline in Islamic values was even before the school year began. Since when did the school change their name and prefer to sound more like KKK than rather have the word Islam in it?Dear prospective parents, please choose whether your want to admit your students into this school with my review and other reviews in mind.

So, first things first. The school starts at 8:00 AM and ends 4:00 PM AND if you show up late, you have to get a late pass even if you are 10 minutes late. At that point they dont even start classes. There are teachers who obviously use favoritism in their classrooms. Its so annoying to see a teacher that likes students that she doesnt even KNOW talk behind her back. Now, dont get me started with the principal. In ISA we used to have an annual tradition called field day, or if you were in high school it was spirit week. The principal said and I quote: A whole day without learning?! No way!. As a student who had high expectations for this school, I doubt my past self. Next is the homework... Out teachers, LC directors and TA promised less homework. The next week I have twice as much homework as last week! You would be lucky if you only had 2 of the 3 subjects as homework! Ridiculous!

My personal experience with the Academy (I have my first elementary)1 - Achievement is very excellent: the first primary stage of establishment and praise to God how clean the level of improvement in both languages writing and reading (oral speech from the first able to both languages)2 - Interested in reading: In English, they are required to read one book a day and register it with a reading record .. In Arabic, the school is equal to them subscriptions to the program Nahla and Nahl all they read a book and answered questions gives them points where they can open games, encourage reading more until you see them More Games. + Visit the library weekly, read them a librarian book with some, two borrow a book on their taste and return the following week + Book Fair which takes place in the school twice a year3 - interest in religion: Of course in addition to the curriculum, and the Koran contest, part of their day .. I accompanied them on my journey, first ride the bus Shabronz read them a prayer ride with some, the time came to eat the young themselves mentioned some they call, I like these details During the day, what you meet in your bag4 - Building and possibilities: These are words, buildings, classrooms and equipment are all on a high level and clean .. (Once we needed the toilet, I entered the lobby lobby at the door, the smell and cleanliness like a hotel bath Mo school) I am relieved that my son is in a clean place And always sterile5 - Sport: They have a clear curriculum, but God knows and play, in which physical goals are required to achieve throughout the year, each subject is dedicated to him a certain period of a week, and with the beginning of each subject are sent to the people, so they know the objectives of the period, They are trained to swim from scratch because most of them do not know how to swim this age6. Administration: At the beginning of the year my son had a little fear of a particular subject, management was at the top of cooperation and understanding, Ms. Jaghlit is a wonderful raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa7 - Other things I was surprised: In addition to Nahla and facilitated by the school the joint on them at the expense of the IXL when they practice Alamath and English. + The show & tell every student once a week + Quran memorization competition annually ..The idea of the LC or the Learning Community is excellent as it is the first elementary classes, for example its three people are in a closed hall with their own water cycle, their own lab, and their teachers room. For some of the things and misconceptions I heard before I do not come and let me hesitate Shui about the Academy and now achieved after we have tried and after they have gone school trip together and lived today together:1 - told me the students of the Academy are not disciplined and do not wear the uniforms of the school. After being verified, they were met once again and the school was disciplined. (Some examples of this point: they have the clip followed by clip up and clip down encourages them to be on their best behavior all day long as they reach the star that is also assigned to what they call a queue if they were Mo disciplined but raise the parameter 3 fingers suddenly all adjust and raise their fingers three Zeha ( When I asked the kids about their meaning they said the 3 rs: respectful, responsible and ready))2 - Many people told me that it is better. I tried to lay the foundation for this rule, but unfortunately all those who told me this sentence after I check them to see what they tried the academy, and all of them respond to the same answer almost: What gives her experience, one goes America and the last one enters his children A Saudi school .. I personally do not consider this a measure nor a convincing response3 - where the people afraid of the ipads and mobile phones in the school, but received in the first mobile phone is prohibited in the school the best evil, the average if they go Jawwal need to leave him in the office to enter the school and receive them for what they see, and here in the comments of a student in the seventh grade resident of the school and complain of (Not open to the subject in the village of Tala who complain of mobile phones but who are registered in the bus and the students do not see them in the bus, so I personally have not heard of Halci from my child or suffered from this subject)4 - tailor: in which people said that it is a joke and tailor but his heart did not feel Halcy and I can appreciate the fact that my father is my primary, but the stage of them is never a hallmarkPraise be to Allah, the Academy of the grace of its existence, which is available to study or work in Virginia specifically, among all the US states, it is a blessing because it is a side .. Always and God, I pray to the King Abdullah, may God have mercy on him, the school with its specifications and capabilitiesI have returned my childs first primary and the system of primary grades in general excellent .. For the other stages I appreciate the same information and the end of the same sure every place has pros and cons and if I encountered any negative in the future I would mention here

Each school has its pros and cons, but the positives of the academy are more than its negatives, this is from my point of view the first year has many challenges and difficulties .. One comment was on the photos that the deputy director organizes the walk What are the problems facing students and this principal comes to school every day at 7:30 pm and the long line waiting for students was only in the beginning until the cars were organized and the waiting time became very little .. There are some mistakes I do not deny but we hope that the next year will be better with permission God ...
