Appleville Academy is one of the best daycares around. My kids love it, it’s very diverse, and in a very reasonable location. They always throw events for the kids, like birthdays, holidays celebrations etc. They have been consistent and very helpful through the pandemic. They always make sure they are checking the kids temperature and keeping it safe clean for the workers. My kids come home all the time with cool looking projects they have done in class. It’s a good feeling knowing that they are always helping the kids become more knowledgeable each and everyday. Appleville is a great and safe place for kids.

What an amazing experience my son and I have had with Appleville!!! Not only do they have the best staff but they are also all genuinely good people who care deeply for all the children under their charge. I cant imagine my son having a better start. Thank you all. You deserve 10 stars!

At first I was in love with this place when my son attended a little less than a year ago. I never got a daily update on how his day was going. When I questioned if he was warming up all they did was show me a phone video of him almost an hour after drop off with him not crying. When I questioned why I wasn’t understanding how he wasn’t better they acted like it was normal. My son never warmed up the 3 almost 4 months he attended and had only one particular teacher he’d ever reach for. Now my son attends somewhere new. We have no tears at a week in. Something was obviously going on.

My son has attended this school for about 6 months. I have been more than pleased with the staff and the interest/hard work put fourth in the care and development of all of the children in their center. We had removed him from his previous daycare as they didnt interact with the children and he just wasnt progressing. However, since starting at this facility, he has developed in all areas.I enjoy being able to walk in at anytime and find all of the classes in engaging activities. You often find artwork and other activities posted on the walls that they have worked on.I am able to speak to any of the staff members and receive an update on my childs progress and they even offer suggestions on things that we can do to help at home. This goes to prove the attention that is paid towards the kids in their care.Having spoken to most of the daycares in the area, this is the only one Id recommend to anyone.

Before enrolling my child, I spoke to the owner of the facility for over 2 hours to make sure that this would be a good fit for my family. She had such a positive response and told me everything that I wanted to hear. The whole climate of the facility changed as soon as my son started attending. My son is not a biter, is not aggressive and has no serious behavioral issues that would warrant the kind of treatment or behavior from caregivers that we received.I had my 18 month old son at this facility for a grand total of 8 days. These are some of the reasons we ran for the hills as quickly as possible:-In those 8 days, I was called to pick my son up early 3 times because he was crying excessively, but really, he was just whining during nap time and the teachers did not feel like dealing with him.-The facility is suppose to send what they call a Toddler Gram home with your child every day to update you on nap time, meal time, diaper changes, etc. Pretty standard thing. I have 3 Toddler Grams from them in total, and this is after specifically requesting to receive them. Twice.-Because the facility was not sending updates home, as is their policy, I would ask for updates when picking my child up, and speak to the staff regarding his needs in the morning when I dropped him off. I made one phone call mid-day to see if he had eaten or slept. However, the teachers seemed very annoyed and off-put by this and would reply in nasty tones, glare at me and my son and be reluctant to answer my questions.-One of the staff members made a comment to me that my son looks just like me when in fact, my child is bi-racial and I am caucasian. I am very proud of my sons heritage. My guess is that the staff member was trying to subtly inquire as to whether or not my son was adopted.-The facility serves breakfast from 8:30-9:15 every morning. I brought my son in at 9am, and after inquiring, was assured that he would receive breakfast. The facility claimed that one small piece of raisin toast was the full breakfast despite milk and fruit also being on their menu. They also claimed that the 2 raisins that were in the toast constituted as a fruit. I stayed with my son for over 30 minutes trying to get him the full breakfast, or even some other kind of food. I offered to take him home, feed him and bring him back. I had to speak to two staff members and the owner of the facility, and still my son did not receive any more food, which he was whining for. The facility chose to argue with me instead of feeding a hungry child. SAD.-Upon picking my child up from Appleville Academy on his last day, I probed them for information about my sons day, and one of the teachers told me in a very nasty tone that he didnt eat nothing and he didnt sleep either. That was my update for the day. A prime example of the level of care they were providing my son.-As soon as I secured another facility, I delivered a letter to the owner explaining that they could take the 1.5 days of outstanding tuition out of the $70 registration fee I had already paid, given the short amount of time that he had been in attendance. I also listed the reasons we were leaving, and why the registration fee should go toward the tuition balance. The owner and one of her employees actually CHASED me out into the parking lot demanding money. They stood in front of my car arguing with me, raising their voices in front of my child, demanding that I pay the weeks full tuition, even though I pulled him out on a Wednesday.Case in point: RUN.
