Graduated from this great school in l957. I still remember all the teachersand the location of their classrooms, the pictures on the corridor wallsof American heroes, the lovely woodwork. We had a recreation area, abowl of play space surrounded by trees and breezes. The large assemblyspace reminded us of our importance - in a good way.Who knows if Elm Place -where I decided to become the English professorI became--spoke to me through its walls of the aspirations of the young.

It was the best school. I have only great memories. I moved to Highland park in 4th grade when Elm Place was 4-8th grade. Till this day i think of Elm Place as my favorite time in my childhood.

Great school system but this school will likely close soon due to district reconfiguration
