I graduated from Lone Peak in 2000, it was a great place to go to school. The community is very supportive and safe. Lone Peak has a beautiful landscape and strives to keep it that way. Yes the community has wealth, but the truth is most families are hard working and a few bad apples shouldnt spoil the rest. Lone Peak is excellent in sports and their student body strives for good grades and acceptance into University. Lone Peak is one of the best schools in the state.

Susan is correct. A school that teaches young women that the way they dress causes boys and men to lose all self control is ludicrous. Men and boys should be taught that they are responsible for their actions and they have no right to attack anyone whether it is verbally or physically. I just viewed a young woman on the news who displayed a lovely and modest dress for a dance and was told she had to wear her coat over it. Seriously, is the dress code there from the 1800s?

We have had all six of our children attend Lone Peak. (graduating classes 2004-2019) We have loved this school and the wonderful community it pulls from. The teachers, coaches and administration all seam to truly care about the kids. We feel we couldnt have chosen a better place to raise our children.

Lone Peak is a great school despite a lot of the comments that talk about a rich area and dress code problems. There are wealthy people, but I saw that translate to students that worked hard and sought out their own success. The dress code isnt at all as terrible as some have described. If anything, it could be enforced a lot more. Lone Peak is a school you can walk away being proud about going there. I loved it and anybody who is seeking a positive experience will find it here.

Attending here has been one of the best experiences of my life! The school is very accepting and kind to everyone that goes regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, or religion. The administration and teachers are always supporting and willing to help you!

This school gets a lot of bad press from people that didnt have good experiences here. People make mistakes. You choose how to handle those. Lone Peak provides a safe place where teenagers can come and grow. The school is well maintained and generally clean. The faculty and staff wants to help kids succeed. People all around the country know this schools name and have respect for it. Like anything in life, its all what you make of it.

Even as someone with a family that didnt have expensive cars or the nicest things, I was accepted and helped when I needed it. The music department was amazing! Miss J is the best choir teacher and music theory teacher that there ever was anywhere.

Lone Peak is one of the most amazing schools to attend! I love the support of the faculty and the environment of the students. Not to mention the fantastic sporting and arts programs. If you choose to become a Lone Peak Knight, you are choosing right!

Decent amenities. Good service. The food was decent. Really unique HSM theme inside the restaurant. Priced a bit steep. Only complaint; no longer attracted to blondes, but was before. Take that for what its worth.

I went to school here, graduated in 2008. Great school, well kept, and great teachers. I knew of drug issues and some other things I dont think high school students should have to deal with, but what are you going to do.

This school has taught me many great things, one of which I would like to highlight is it taught me that I truly am superior than humans solely because I have more money than them. I was foolish to think anything other than that, but thanks to lone peak I now know the truth!

Good grief, these reviews are full of whiners. I spent 3 good years at LP, and I learned from great teachers. There are bullies, snobs, and cliques anywhere you go - learn to stand up for yourself instead of being such a baby about everything, and you can overcome any obstacle. Your education is what you make it, and Lone Peak provided an excellent education to me.

Lone Peak is a wonderful building with amazing teachers, kind staff and huge amounts of freedom, even though a large percentage is Mormon, they dont treat me much differently for my less religious standpoint (though people do try often to convert me). The large population of the school lets you, with enough time and effort, find enough good friends that share your common interests, no matter what they are. This wonderful building was my one escape from a grade affecting depression and a way out from the dirty and immoral area I lived in before. I love the school, their immobile standpoint on their beliefs, the teachers, the freedom, and the constant programs they have to meet people. A few bad eggs shouldnt lower such a great schools reputation, and the children who struggled to make friends just didnt take advantage of what the school has to offer. Furthermore, as a non-Mormon child, who came to the school as a new kid in junior year, I can say I was received well. Go Knights!

Excellent school with great faculty and staff, but seems to focus more on sports rather than education at times, and focuses more on those involved in such.

This school has some good teachers, but other than that, it is full of rich snobby kids who are involved in cliques and dont include anyone who isnt cool enough. There are also a lot of lame boys who wont ask any girls to dances. A lot of cute, kind girls dont get asked. The sports are very good and Lone Peaks teams are very successful but you have a higher chance of making the NBA than Lone Peaks basketball team. The School lunch is literally diarrhea. The halls and classes are overly crowded and kids are getting trampled right and left. The best teacher is Lyle Mangum. Hes the only reason to attend this school. The librarians are abusive and charge you for printing paper. They also have a full blown, airport equivalent, security system to get in and out of the of library. Like who would want to steal books? Ultimately, this school is kind of overrated. There are a lot of good kids but some rotten ones too. The only other reason to go here, other than Mr. Mangum, is to see that cute couple of Nathan Covey and Adi Jensen. They are adorable.

Our daughter is generally a student at another school, located several miles away, but she attends Lone Peak High every other day to access courses that are not otherwise available from our neighborhood high school. This process was made pleasant and painless by the helpful faculty and staff at Lone Peak, notably their registrar. The facilities are new, beautiful and well-maintained. Her specialty teachers provide great opportunities, for which we are thankful. Problems have been cheerfully handled with minimal anxiety on the part of anyone, making the situational inconveniences worth our efforts for her to attend Lone Peak.Though the Dress Code at Lone Peak is very minimal, we appreciate the ways that this school tries to inform and enforce it. Similar standards are in the handbooks of other local schools and of Alpine School District, yet administrators at other schools appear to lack the courage to take any firm stand. Students or families with integrity or dignity would already be living far above these bare minimum standards; yet at Lone Peak there is a culture of discord regarding the standards which has come up repeatedly, even during class time among teachers and students. Such rancor and contention in the attitudes of the students earns Lone Peak a lower rating than the graciousness and courage of the faculty and staff might otherwise merit.

Its an alright school...Pros: great staff, kept clean, well managed, great teachers, awesome sports programs.Cons: students attending school made my stars go down to 3. There are a lot of cliques or groups of people who only talk to others in that group. So a newcomer might find it hard to talk to others and make friends. Not only are the cliques a problem, but the way students treat people who arent mormon. A new student who isnt mormon would have an even harder time trying to talk to others and make friends. Everybody should be treated the same regardless of religious standpoint. Now, im not saying you wont make any friends or meet genuinely good people. There are some really good students at this school who treat everyone fairly. And you wont be completely bagged on because of your religion. Its just harder to find the truly good people. I wont list any traits of a good person, as everyone has a different opinion. The point I am trying to make is everyone needs to make an effort to understand others. You will never know what someone else has gone through in their life. The best thing you can do is give others a chance before judging them wrongly. Everyone is important in some way, and everyone has the power to change the future.

Each year LPHS leads the Alpine District in athletics and academics. The student body each year are some of the sharpest young men and women in High School. I officiate high school basketball and lacrosse so I see these kids alot. I am sure they have their problems like any high school but I have had two of my own children attend and graduate from this school and I am pleased with the education they received.

My daughter was bullied at LPH because she was different. I talked to the administration and they did nothing. We ended up transferring her to another school. Whats strange is that LPH students still bully her from the internet by posting mean and hurtful statements on her facebook page. If your kids are different in any way, dont send them to this school.
