Gary has taught our daughter for 2 years now. He is the type of amazingly easy going instructor that lets the student relax and find their own zone. When our daughter started lessons, she knew very little about music theory. She has made leaps and bounds since. Gary even has a fun stage for the kids to perform on and have recitals. This past year being what it was, Gary took the time to piece together a virtual guitar recital via previously recorded segments of each student. He is not only a mentor, but a friend to all. We are always mindful and respectful of his time and the time of the next student and he is sure to make every moment count.

Gary is a great teacher! Patient, consistent, and easy to work with. My son looks forward to lessons and is learning and improving a lot. He does a great job connecting with students and tapping into what they are excited about. We are very happy and would recommend him as a teacher.

We love Gary Argyle studio!! My 10 year old son has been taking guitar lessons from Gary for the last 2 years and has has been making awesome progress in his guitar skills. Gary very patient and encouraging. When my sons practices and performs his songs well he is often praised with a “Beauuuutiful!” comment from Gary. My son always looks forward to lessons which is saying something because he is very picky about teachers. I also thoroughly enjoy coming and watching my son at his lessons in Gary’s detached garage he teaches out of. He has a comfy leather couch and free snacks. He also has fun album cover posters and an impressive guitar collection on the walls to add to the garage band feel. The whole environment is just very authentic and fun. You can tell Gary truly loves teaching and is a true musician. I highly recommend him!

I was going to use Gary for lessons. Before I started I explained I had back issues, and may miss lessons on occasion, but would be willing to make them up other days. During the practice lesson he kept yawning and seemed like he could barely stay awake at 2pm on a Wednesday. The day before my first full lesson my grandfather got a flat tire, and I was the only one who could help. While changing the flat tire I threw my back out. I also later found out I would need to accompany the same grandfather to an appointment at the VA. I sent Gary a message at 10:45 about my back for that week, and a second message saying I would need to do the lesson on a different day the week after, I sent him another message at 6:30 to see if he had gotten the others, lastly my wife called shortly after 8pm. Gary never responded, until the next day when I sent a message saying I wouldn’t be using his service, and would like a refund of the money that had been prepaid. He responded within two minutes. His response was full of excuses, going so far as to say I hadn’t contacted him until well after 4. I sent him a screenshot showing the several texts I had sent him, to which he replied there was no need to be cynical and that he had more students than he could handle. At this point I asked Gary to stop contacting me unless he needed to inorder to facilitate the refund. He instead sent me several more text messages (that I considered rude in nature), and called me. I had to tell him three times to stop contacting me, and finally threatened to have the police involved for electronic harassment. Hopefully this will stop him from further harassment. Additionally it took several text messages to get him to simply refund the money.I don’t know if Gary was being snyde about the situation, or if he simply hadn’t paid attention to when things were coming in, but his texts and his home call made me 100% certain I had made the right choice in choosing not to retain his services. I would suggest to anyone else considering Gary they look elsewhere.
