I have raised and graduated two sons who attended schools in other districts. They are successful adults and as a result I feel like I have succeeded. Our youngest son attends HHIMS and we could not be more pleased. The guidance councilor for the 8th grade is wise, knowledgeable, kind, attentive, & effective. Our childs teachers are the best and we could not ask for better. The teachers ALWAYS answer emails promptly. I am pleasantly surprised that not only are all of his teachers capable, but theyre supportive, intelligent, informed, and caring. The staff is wonderful as well. The school receptionist this year has been a terrific resource who is compassionate, efficient, & very pleasant. This school has well earned its high marks on all of the scoring resources we studied. A+ all the way!

Its obvious to every parent having a child in middle school or a child that has gone through middle school, these years are tough as they are developing slowly into adults dealing with hormone changes, peer pressures, learning about new emotions, etc. No school is perfect or ever will be perfect; therefore, as parents/guardians I believe we can do as much as we can to get involved and stay involved in the school by showing up, meeting with teachers, understanding their daily pressures, asking questions, getting involved in different activities at the school, joining committees, even creating one and getting parents/kids involved!I believe its easier to see the negative than the positive at times. Ive seen some amazing things happen at this school as well that should be talked about. Ive seen bullying behavior stopped within a 12 hour period and never occurred again. Ive seen an entire community come together to support the HHIMS Stingray Support Circle giving huge donations for those families/students that lost everything. Ive seen Admin/Staff/Teachers work long hours at the school in classrooms, later attend meetings to discuss improvements and then still show up to watch their students play after school activities before going home to their own families. Its easier to think everything is negative but its not. Sure, changes can be made to turn negatives into positive outcomes but it takes ONE person to stand up, do something, say something, make a difference, change it and then get others involved to truly help make the change happen for our kids and/or the school. Lets be the community that MAKES IT BETTER and fixes what is broken if we can. The community I know that came together after Hurricane Matthew to help neighbors, kids, families help put their lives back together... are the ones that make up THIS COMMUNITY. Lets see what we can ALL do again to help HHIMS be THE BEST for our kids and those that will follow them.Perhaps we can start a new Parent Committee to bring positive ideas to the school and to our kids?Id love to read some positive feedback on this site as well!Im sure those stories are out there, too!

Let me start out by saying this is one of the top rated schools in the district, but its grade? A HORRIBLE D!!!! So I guess if if you dont want to spend 17,000 dollars a year sending your kid to prep, this is the place to go. The school administration seems to focus more on strict uniform policies and outrageous rules than academics. HHIMS also revolves around the students who misbehave, punishing the general public for a few children. There are also many teachers who should have their degree revoked, by being biased, leaving students unattended, and simply not taking an effort. The only positives are that in the last year, progress as made to add more arts programs, and many educators are fantastic in finding interesting ways to teach.

I attended a ridiculous excuse for a Holiday Concert last week. Many of the kids werent singing at all. Those who were frequently got lost. Other were goofing around, undisciplined, unaware, a joke. Out of about 100 kids only 7 boys participated. Sad! Hope its not a reflection on the school as a whole.

This is a bad school with a terrible grade. when you give kids tablets, dont make the internet a bunch of butts. Also, the tablets just constantly glitch. My son cant get his homework don because of those tablets. Also, why did you block some of the educational games my son plays to learn how to divide. This school is just a bunch of poopy butts!

This review is based purely off my locker troubles and the way my math class teacher acted,So this year my math teacher really hasnt liked my class. She has called us the worst class numerous times. And then people from her other classes kept saying that I us. It made our whole class upset. But the 1 thing just as bad are the lockers they are always jammed and never open. They are also really small I could barely fit two backpacks in it.

Worst school Ive ever seen. The teachers dont care if youre not learning anything, they only care if youre out of dress code.

Got much worse when principle was fired, Rise which helped students greatly was taken away, and the school spends more time worrying about uniforms then important things like drug education or ways to improve the school. But teachers like Mr. Rochester, Mr. Carson, Mrs. Ledbetter, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Moe, Mr. Tavino, Mrs. Drane, and Mr. Seelman help make this school better fit and smarter. The support staff like guidance councilors and the nurse are also very nice. But at this moment I would not recommend this school.
