My son needed help with math and writing skills. He is in 7th grade yet they started him out on packets in low elementary levels when he is clearly not that behind. When I asked about this they claimed they go backwards to teach repetition so that when they get into the harder work they will process it easier and faster.We stayed with it for 3 months with little progression and it would have been months before getting him to the level he is currently at in school.It seems that the parent does most of the work, having to correct the homework only to have them give him more packets during the tutoring hour with little to know teaching at all. In fact, one night I received a text from my son that he was finished and he was only 30 minutes into his 60 minute session. I texted the instructor and she said, “I’ll give him another packet.” That was not the answer I was hoping for.I anticipated at $260/month for an hour/week session my son would have actually benefited from some sort of tutoring. All it did for us was humiliate a smart kid by having to do elementary work and take money from my pocket.We since learned of a place called “U Can Learn” with a professional, skilled in learning behavior. She tested my child for 2.5 hours and assessed his needs for only $350.She was able to diagnose him and set up sessions to teach him certain skills and use learning tools to help him succeed in school! DON’T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON KUMON!!!

We have been involved with Kumon in Holladay for over 2 years and couldnt be more thrilled with the progress weve seen with our son. Jessica, the instructor, is fabulous! Her love and concern for her students is obvious. She has been wonderful to work with and pushes our son, yet makes sure that he fully understands the concepts he is learning in both math and reading. Jessica keeps us up to date on his progress and is always willing to address our concerns. We love Jessica and would highly recommend Kumon in Holladay!

I am so impressed with Jessica and her staff. They really made learning fun for my children. Jessica has great patience and dedication with kids and taught me different ways to help them study and succeed in their goals. We attend Kumon in the summers to give the kids a step up on their school curriculum for next year.
