Great place to train. Some of the best talented kids and coaches in the country. Audreys game has improved 10 fold over the past year. Special thanks to Jasmine Rocha for working with Audrey in private sessions after coming back from an injury. Jasmine was a big help in bringing Audreys game to where it is today. Highly recommend this Academy for kids and adults. Thank you Rocha family, Billy, Adrian, and the rest of the coaches that make it all possible.

First of all my family and I have never been to this gym. Im just a father of 2 boys that are very active in the competition scene in our area. We are from central Florida, my two sons routinely wins or at least place in all the tournaments they enter. Whenever the kids from this gym shows up at any of our local tournaments. They totally dominate the competition. They beat the best kids from our area that never loses, and they make it look easy. I dont know what they are doing here at this gym, but apparently its working. My 2 sons are at the top of their class. They are getting bored because of no competition. When summer comes Im definitely going to come down here for a couple of weeks to visit. My friend from another gym said he took his kids here to visit. He said it was an eye opening experience.

I researched many schools before enrolling my 6 year old son here. I definitely made the right choice. The coaches are great. They always have alot of coaches at every practice to ensure these kids get plenty of one on one training. I highly recommend this school to any parent interested in their kids learning jiu-jitsu.

I dont usually write long (or positive) reviews but Im going to take some time to do this. First, the guy that runs this place is legit! Google combat jiu jitsu worlds to see him in action; watch him kill everyone else in his weight category with no effort at all. He is a great athlete and his knowledge is unparalleled. He also has that quality of character (I have no word for it) that makes for a great instructor: a mixture of fairness and toughness. For us guys, this place is not a self-defense place (Ill write about girls later). That being said, the crowd here is tougher that what you find in a self defense class. If you learn how to survive in this mat you will be ready for anything life throws at you. But dont be afraid. In the words of Joe Rogan: its a bunch of nerds :) Just regular people trying to become better people. They also have kickboxing and boxing classes. The guy teaching that is un chardito (Cubans will get it) that knows his trade. After a single class with him I dropped like 5 pounds (I literally saw the difference in the mirror). If you take his class, he will get you in good shape and you will also learn how to punch. I should probably mention at this point that Im a 42 years old computer programmer that spends 40 hours a week sitting, a life long smoker, and that I have no motor skills or athleticism whatsoever. Im the kind of person that cant juggle two balls. Well, six months into this new thing, I stopped smoking and Im feeling like a teenager. Seriously, I could not run a block, and now I can. My wife is so grateful... :) Anyways, in this place you will learn how to defend yourself and improve your quality of life. A word for the girls: there is a self defense program for women. The girl teaching this is Jasmine. Im sure Im going to see her in the sports news, since she is a very good fighter. She is phenomenal. I fought her once and since Im a grown up man, you know, I was sure I could handle this 5 foot nothing 100 pounds teenager... I was so wrong. She put me in a triangle and it hurt so bad! So if you are a lady and you want to learn some self defense skills, this girl can definitely teach you how. There is also a fitness program for women. I dont know much about it. But they have a bunch of kettle bells I use from time to time. And it looks like fun. Last but not least, I have to write about Ariel. Great guy and the best instructor, he is an excellent teacher. Ariel is not longer with them. But wherever you see the guy in the latest picture, with the orange shirt, you can be sure you are going to learn jiu jitsu! He is a great black belt and an awesome person, with skills and knowledge. His private classes are worth every penny. He taught me almost everything I know. Five starts to the whole family.

This gym has something for everyone— great for the whole family! Everyone was super friendly from the first time I walked in, and explained all they have to offer. Very professional, VERY clean and sanitized often. I especially like that they use professional UVC Sanitizing services in their facility, which kills Coronavirus, the flu, etc. I highly recommend Vagner Rocha Martial Arts!

I went there this morning and ZERO issues. The bottom line is, if you want to learn Jujitsu then look no further and come to VRMA. Best jujitsu in South FL hands down. Is like family away from family. Do yourself a favor and google Vagner Rocha and you will see.

I visited the school because of the reputation it previously had. The following were observations I made. The school has way too many students and there are no pandemic precautions being adhered to whatsoever. The new students seem lost in the shuffle with most of the attention only focused on the more advanced students. There are no sincere attempts made by the staff to prevent the transmission of Covid 19 in this establishment. No masks are worn by anyone and when asked why, the staff reply no with a cavalier attitude. I was sadly disappointed with this school and will be looking to enroll my daughter elsewhere.

Family oriented! Great Coaches! Awesome Schedule! If you want to train with and learn from the best black belts, this is the place to be. I have been training here for a year and have seen many current UFC, ADCC, BKFC fighters training with the students. It does not matter if you are a beginner or an expert this gym will sharpen your skills, whether you want to train MMA, BJJ, Wrestling, Kickboxing or even Boxing this is definitely the place to be. Everyone here, from the students to the coaches, even the professional guests have treated me like part of their FAMILY.

This business does not follow covid-19 guidelines at all. The windows were covered and when parking in the back one window was uncovered showing inside that no one (out of the 10+ people in the building) was wearing a mask no distancing either. When asked inside if they were not going to use masks theysaid no.Edit in response to owner replying :Hello, my friend who walked into your business noticed the following things. 1) around 20+ people who were not socially distanced or wearing masks. 2) Workers who were not instructing, were not wearing masks. 3) When my friend entered your business her temperature was not taken. These were things that we noticed within 5 minutes of being in the door way of the building.While we can not say anything about the sanatization you may be conducting.

Absolutely the best kids program in South Florida and we tried other gyms in the past . We drive 80 miles each way 3-4 times a week for over a year just so we can train with kids who are World champions and learn from the best coaches who put extra time and effort to bring the best out of our kids . Before coming here I visited multiple gyms. I’m really picky about where I choose to invest time and any form of education. I chose this place for a few reasons, the most important being is that they have a family oriented atmosphere. They treat you like a person and not like a number. They actually care about their members. I witnessed first hand the school and members taking care of another member after an unfortunate incident. Not only that, but I was in a car accident some time ago and couldn’t come back due to medical reasons. They worked with me regarding my membership. I never canceled my membership even though I couldn’t come back, but they still called to make sure I was ok and to see when I could train with them again. They didn’t have to since they still had my membership payment but they still call to make sure I’m ok after not seeing me for a while.Another reason I choose to train here is because they provide quality proven training. Their training is amazing. Prior to my accident I was able to improve and received attention to my training, just like everyone else. You don’t find that in every gym. I went from tapping out right away at every roll to being able to roll consistently with other members of higher belt levels even though I’m still a white belt and still lose to them. Thanks to this gym I felt better about myself and a lot more confident in what I do. I looked forward to every day thanks to them. I can’t wait to get better and get back to training. Even during the pandemic when everywhere was closed including the gym, they offered video training so everyone can train safely from home so members can stay up on their training and conditioning. This is not a typical martial arts gym.You can tell the owners and staff love what they do including the regulars that go there. This isn’t a regular McDojo you see all over. This is a place that makes you feel welcome, safe, and wanting to keep coming back. Even during the pandemic they made sure everyone was safe after being allowed to reopen. I dropped in for a Thursday evening class while on vacation, and it was a very welcoming and friendly environment. Everyone came up to me and introduced themselves and shook my hand, Vagner himself was super welcoming too.The level of instruction is very professional, some serious experience in the room; and (parents: pay attention) there were 3 black belts teaching the kids class (something I have never seen in 10 years of training.)There was a good mix of beginner through expert level people training and I had some great rounds.Great experience, will be back. If I lived in South Florida, this is where I would train.

Wow! Where do i start. We came from another gym and we were kinda hesitant about change ,but let me tell you we were welcomed with open arms from the whole school. The coaches are top notch lead by Vagner who is just amazing. The guy is there day in and day out teaching classes and helping the kids and adults up there game. The kids love it and trust me we have seen a major jump in there game and thats saying something if u know them all around great gym

Great gym. Great atmosphere. Definitely recommend for all experiences. Even if you think you know it all. You will learn a lot in just a few days. And if you think you’re too much of a slow learner they’ll work with you and won’t go on until you feel comfortable with the technique. If I could give VRMA 6 stars I would. The coaching provided to the kids at VRMA is at the highest level you can find. The coach to child ration is perfect and the kids learn discipline while working hard and having a great time. The program for adults is equally impressive. From my first day the atmosphere at the school was inviting while still providing the appropriate level of competition I was looking for.

Ive been training about 10 years and i moved down to Florida from NY about a year and a half ago and was looking for the best place to train. I trained at several places in South Florida before finding Vagner Rocha Martial Arts and I have to say its the best in the area. Great instruction, fantastic people, I dont have enough good things to say about the place.

I began my journey training at Vagner Rocha Martial arts. When I signed up I weighed 210 lbs and was looking for something to get into since the gym was getting boring. I now weigh 160lbs and have learned so much. Vagner is a great instructor and now friend. 5 years later I’m confident in facing anyone. I recommend his academy to anyone, any age, regardless of your goal.

I joined this school less than a Year ago and I only have good things to say. All the instructors are very dedicated, professional and friendly. Vagner, the main instructor is also very knowledgeable and always eager to teach. He gives a lot of attention to every student. But more importantly, the atmosphere is very relaxed and family oriented. Whatever your age or level, there is a place for you at this school. The team is very competitive but there is also room for people who do martial arts as a hobby. Ive traveled all around the world and visited many Bjj schools, so far this one is the best by far.

By far, the best thing that I could have ever for my children. Aside from my children learning self defense and achieving a high level of physical fitness, Vagner and his instructors push the kids so that they gain perseverance, mental toughness, and a sense of comeradery/family that you cant find anywhere else.

My children and I have trained at the school for 8 yrs and its been an excellent experience. I myself am a 20 veteran Police officer in the city of Miami. Comprehensive classes for both adults and children and a great friendly staff. Vagner himself is a world champion with a wealth of experience in both competing and teaching Jiu-jitsu to anyone willing to come in and try it out. I myself have won several tournaments under his training and at the age of 45. The confidence your child or children will get will carry over to school and every day life. Both my children trained at the school and I had the privilege to see them progress into the adult classes with me.Come to the school give it try its a great parent child bonding experience for both mom or dad, son or daughter.

I’ve been training at Vagner Rocha Martial Arts for a little over a year. I’ve now recently enrolled my son and he loves it there more than I expected. The instructors are great and the quality of instruction is top notch. Training at VRMA is unique and special in that you’re not just learning from a guy that talks about what he “used” to do. You’re learning from an active competitor that is still teaching and competing at the highest levels of jiujitsu as it evolves. Vagner Rocha Martial Arts Academy is an incredible place to train. Vagner himself is a great instructor and a world class competitor. I have nearly 30 years of Law Enforcement experience in the Miami area and have employed Jiu-Jitsu techniques as taught at the academy on violent criminal suspects to gain control of them. I can’t accurately express how good VRMA is but, I will try.First, whenever learning anything of value, who teaches and how they teach it is of utmost importance. When it comes to Jiujitsu, Vagner Rocha is beyond top notch. Why? Google him for yourself but, he is not only a traditionalist with old school work ethic but, he is relevant in today’s Jiujitsu world. His resume speaks for itself.Secondly, his love for his art, love for his family, and love for his students makes his style of instruction more of a mentoring household rather than a place of business. His name is not only attached to the school, he teaches everyday, he picks who rolls against who because he knows his students strengths and weaknesses. In other words, you’re not just a client.Next, Monkey see monkey do right? Well his fellow instructors are made from the same mold. So, when you’re taking one of the other classes in the morning, or on weekends, you are receiving the same high level Instruction. Additionally, the students become family. As a group we cherish this family. The feeling is palpable when you walk into the gym. Everyone wants to help each other become better, no one takes it easy on each other, always hard. Afterwards it’s hugs positive feedback and support. It’s incredible. I’m a fireman and I can compare to that brotherhood.Lastly, at least for now, I hear parents come in because their children were being picked on, and or they’ve tried other places and felt their children didn’t get enough one on one attention. Well at VRMA there are at least 4 instructors on the mat to support Vagner and assure that the children are getting all the help they need. Our kids are super high level and more importantly, disciplined well behaved little humans. AMAZING GYM ! MY DAUGHTER ATTENDED HER FIRST SUMMER CAMP THERE AND LOVED IT. THE INSTRUCTERS WERE VERY PROFESSIONALY MADE ME FEEL SUPER COMFORTABLE WITH LEAVING HER FOR THE FIRST TIME. THERE IS A REAL FAMILY FEEL INSIDE AND YOU CAN TELL HOW MUCH EVERYONE CARES ABOUT TEACHING AND HELPING EACH STUDENT WHETHER LITTLE OR BIG. I came to Vagners school for 6 months not knowing what to expect. I was truly amazed. Not only its a family friendly environment and everyone very welcoming but I seen huge improvements in my jiu jitsu. Vagner is not only a world class competitor but also an amazing instructor. He truly cares for his students, and makes sure they understand the technique being taught. Cant wait to come and train here again.

If you are looking for a quality Brazilian Jiujitsu gym to train at with a family atmosphere, this is it. My husband,our 4 children, and I, trained at VRMA with Vagner and his crew for quite some time before we moved out of state. Vagner and his instructors are incredible, and they all kindly received each one of us with open arms. Our youngest son has special needs. He was taught, allowed to train and compete, and treated no different than any other child in the class. The values that our children were taught at VRMA are life lessons that will never be forgotten, and the love shown to our family by Vagner, his instructors, and his family will forever hold a special place in our hearts- we will forever be grateful for each and every one of them and will always consider them all family.

Vrma is an amzing gym. We have the best experience there , and everyone is amazing from the coaches to the parents/student they always treat everyone with love and respect. They have uped my kids fighting game so much its amazing. I would totally recommend.
