This school was the worst choice ever . As former student of that school I highly recommend you don’t send your child there. This school barely has money and the proper education to stay open as a school. And the were was teachers who were so rude to students for no reason! Not to mention the lunch menu was the worst ! To be honest I would give this school a whopping -5/5 if I could .

You have to give a chance to a new school. Its a small school where it is easier to control teenagers. I think the principal and the rest of the staff have done a good job but it is not easy to please everyone. Its not only up to them to make possible a great school, its also up to us (the parents) to help and follow the rules that the school enforces. I think this school has a lot of potential. And from my experience, theyve always helped me and I feel that my kids are very safe at this school.

Ben Gamla Prep is only a two year-old school. And for such a young school, they are working very hard to get all the kinks ironed out. My son only started last year, and from what Ive heard, the second year was much better than the first. He had a good year thete. So, I feel that with time, the school will get better and have more stability.

PLEASE SHARE MY STORY GUYS!!!Ben Gamla Charter School Plantation allowed my son who has Epilepsy to be bullied by a kid and once my son got up to defend himself, they gave him I.S.... this child threw stuff at my child multiple times, then my child proceeded to throw his sweater at the kid. Then the kid hit my son in his face with a lunch box (my child has Epilepsy). Then the fight was broken up. The school says the decision was justified because Lyric was the first to be physical . I dont agree with this. I thought being physical is ANY type of contact to harm. So how was my child the FIRST to be physical? I contacted the school Liason, Marla, and no results. She pretty much came back stating that the principal thinks decision was justified. My child repeatedly asked the child to stop. There was no time to tell a teacher in the lunch room when youre basically being bullied by another student. My child couldve went into a seizure.

Honestly the middle school isn’t that bad but it’s just that the teachers don’t know how to teach in a good way and some of the staff is mean. I’ve heard bad things about the high school and I’m glad I’m in middle school right now. Thankfully I’m leaving next year for 9th grade. Also most rules are not fair at all. Girls are not allowed to wear ripped jeans(not even a little rip) also they think sweatpants are tight even when if you wear them baggier than they already are they would fall off. 🤦‍♀️

Ben Gamla Prep is a public charter school with a private school feel. Your child will be more than an anonymous face here. The principal and the teachers care about the students and are doing everything they can to create a safe learning environment and to help the students succeed. I will always love bengamla however, this school is not what I expected. The uniforms are very overpriced. The school lies about being tuition free and is the worst school you could go to. It is a very small school with only about 400 kids. The school has no money in the budget for sports and is very strict on dress code. I honestly believe that this school was better when it was in plantation. The staff treats you very poorly. There are no lockers so you have to carry all of your books up and down the stairs. Of coarse I cant really blame the school that much since it is functioning a little better then last year 2015, much improvements are needed. I have also noticed how teachers dont collaborate and create a time for tests so students are less stressed out.. In most other schools, things are very different. I hope it gets better but until then. Lions ROAR ON!!

THE STAFF IS NASTY AND THE PRINCIPAL HATES CHILDREN AND DOES NOT ENJOY INTERACTING WITH HER STUDENTS. SHE NEVER LEAVES HER OFFICE AND IF U HAVE A CONCERN SHE WILL DO THE MINIMUM AND NEVER SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE DONT DO BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THE TEACHERS. SPEAKING OF TEACHERS, THEY SHOULDNT EVEN BE CALLED TEACHERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO ABSOLUTE IDEA HOW TO TEACH!!!!!!! BEFORE THE STATE TESTINGS, MY CHILD HAD TO STUDY WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE LEARNED THE WHOLE YEAR. THE SECURITY HUARDS HAVE BIAS TOWARDS THE STUDENTS AND LET SPECIFIC STUDENTS GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING AGAINST TNE RULES AND PUNISH OTHERS. SKIPPING CLASS IS SOMETHING STUDENTS REGULARLY DO AND BECOME FRIENDS WITH ALL THE SECURITY GUARDS. THIS SCHOOL IS BASICALLY A PRISON, TREATING ITS STUDENTS WITHOUT ANY SYMPATHY AND TREATING THEM AS IF THEY WERE PRISONERS. Ben Gamla is a joke and when a student gets blamed for something the security will only listen to the teacher and not the student. The teachers kick students out for laughing or just speaking a different language. The school itself is disgusting, there is dust, gum, hair, drawings and bugs everywhere. The girls bathrooms are just gross and there is always one that is locked or broken. Security sits outside of the boys bathroom downstairs and girls bathroom upstairs. We have had about 8 different security guards in the past 3 years. I have had 3 algebra teachers, 3 geometry teachers, 2 reading teachers, 2 P.E teachers, and other teachers just quit or get fired for things we dont know. When teachers get tired of their students they call security to come and get them, they dont know what to do with them so they put them in the office or in a desk outside in the middle of the hallway. The security never wants to listen to students or what their side of the story is. For the last 2 years 8th grade had a graduation and a dance and this year they want to take us to the movies and bowling. If this school is an option please dont consider it, you or your child will hate it or like it only because we dont learn, but when the EOC comes they just throw packets at us because they didnt teach us enough. We arent allowed to use our phones during lunch or listen to music. The administration sometimes keep phones overnight or even for a weekend. At the beginning of the year we had an option to pay $75 to dress however we liked on Fridays and now our jeans have too many holes, our leggings are too tight, Our shirts are too low, and only girls get told this. The guys can wear tank tops, jeans, joggers, pretty much anything without getting dress coded. Most teachers also dont dress professionally at all and sometimes refuse to grade work or dont give you enough time to do makeup work. If I could give this school less than one star I would, but its not possible. It feels like a prison.

(update: giving this a 3 just for sympathy. the excuses the students give for one star reviews is hilarious.)if i could i would give this a 2.5 but google doesnt allow me to. the school isnt as bad as many of the students make it out to be. most of the bad reviews come from troublemakers that usually confront teachers.im ok with ben gamla. some good things include the teachers, the fact that it is somewhat private and since its a small school; adminstration, teachers, parents and students feel a lot more together.some bad things include the poor scheduling that the county enforces on the school but we still cant even adapt majority of the time.the unstable staff force makes expecting a teacher to come next year very unlikely. you have teachers, maintenance, administration all switching jobs and places in the school and some leaving entirely. i feel like the constant moving and replacements of teachers make the school more poorly managed.another problem is the small size of the school. im aware that BGP is owned by broward county and they could just go to the hollywood city hall and submit an imminent domain request but it still limits the school. theres very little space for more classes and the office space is very small. that ONE preschool is the problem. if we could just blow it up it would solve our problems but make our school looking like a rectangle.increasing the size of the school might already make way to an already common problem: useless electives. im not saying i hate my electives but the fact there are some electives that have less then 10 students every class is insane. you shouldnt be wasting time on useless electives; that should go to the teacher to file reports, manage grades, respond to emails, grade assignments; not electives that dont benefit you. a very suspicious way they made this problem worse was that they asked students for electives they would like to see, but then made those students attend the electives they chose.transperancy is another problem that shouldnt be obvious but leaning a little bit more towards the students would be better. there is a LOT of data and information that the students dont know that might effect the school in the coming months or years. in some classes, they have storage rooms where they have years worth of final exam scores and sub categories of everyone in the entire school inside of a binder: laying there like its useless information. and a lot of the times the faculty make decisions that arent bad for the students, but they provide little to no reason for. they tell us to talk to the principal only, but they could just tell us why in the announcements. it takes 20 seconds to inform everyone in the school and give simple explanations why, but we instead spend 20 minutes to give a detailed reason why to groups of students coming in and out of the principals office.and i know i listed more bad then good but they mostly arent major problems. the only major problem is the unstable faculty that leave and come every couple months or years.2.5/5. would learn again.

I am proud to call myself a lion! Ben Gamla Prep has a culture of rigor and excellence that is not for every student. The responsibilities and expectations we have for our students are beyond the normal public institutions. For those who are looking to coast or take the easy road, BGP may not be the best fit. However, for students that want to excel and succeed at the highest academic level then JOIN THE PRIDE. I am proud to be returning for my third year at BGP. I have seen first hand how Ms. Machado and Ms. Franconeri have turned the school into a safe, inclusive, and college preparatory environment. The dedication to excellence they promote is second to none. I appreciate and applaud all their efforts. It pains me to see derogatory comments by former and current members of our community. Especially, those who do so anonymously. We have worked very hard to instill integrity and honor into our student body. My students know well that we value their right to free speech, but when doing so we hope that you come to us to voice your concerns before slandering someones good name. WE ARE LIONS AND OUR PRIDE STICKS TOGETHER FOREVER!

Ben Gamla Preparatory is a fitting game for the series since, just like the show, its as awful as its predecessor. How do you top a spinoff series about a elementary school? By giving it an equally ludicrous, if not less paranormal, premise: living in a high school.Despite pretty much being the child of a servant, Ben Malka acts like the man of the High School. Hes always scheming something, which kind of makes him like a less funny Nathaniel (which is saying something since he wasnt funny to begin with). This time its trying to get an A in Mx. Louis Martinez class. Unfortunately the evil teacher sabotages his test to give him a low grade. Oh snap!Much of Ben Gamla Preparatory is an adventure game, like Thats so Charter School and the spinoff, Mr. Shofeits Wild Adventure. In fact, it seems Broward County Games just used the same engine. The same engine from the previous crappy game. The one with the clunky controls, the odd camera angle, and the piss-poor graphics. Why do you keep making games that are hard to control and look terrible when you know theyre for children? It hurts me on the inside, fellas.Controlling Ben Malka is like controlling a zamboni. Nearly every level is hallways. The High School, the low-school, nothing but hallways. Even the classes is just big hallways. Along the varied halls are rooms to enter usually to find some utensil then turn back around and wander down more hallways. The adventure is just so completely boring. Were sneaking past school guards, and throwing exploding fidget spinners at teachers and its still dull. All youre really doing is walking from point A to point B so you can talk to people. The conversations are evil too. As dumb as the show this game is based on is, I did manage to crack a smile occasionally while watching it on the Jewish Brodcast Channel. The game makes absolutely no attempt to be clever and instead makes jokes that are so dumb its hard to tell if theyre even supposed to be funny. Luckily the game incorporates canned laughter to tell me when to laugh. Thanks game! I didnt know if the line, Suicide rates have gone 12% up over the last year! was hilarious or not, but your tinny, lifeless chortling told me to Lel my heart out!Hey Ben Gamla Preparatory has minigames too. Woo hoo. Much like The Charter School, theres a Parrapa style rhythm game. As much as I ragged on Charter School (and rightly so) at least that game featured real songs. Ben Gamla Preparatory has some stale midi cacophony to accompany a rhythm game that doesnt even bother to follow the rhythm of the fake song. the game is not fun at all and as often as it comes up in the game youd think the developer would have put a little more work into it. Seriously there are plenty of Broward County games with much better rhythm games. In addition to the rhythm game are numerous other minigames which are not so much games as jobs. People get paid to rewire electrical circuits. And entering numbers into a notebook is not a game.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!! I attended ben gamla for 7th and 8th grade and I can honestly say it was the worst two years of my life. Ive always been a straight A student from kindergarten to 6th grade, but as soon as I started going here ,I felt myself getting dumber and dumber. The teachers are ATROCIOUS. I am still surviving on a 6th grade education. The only reason I passed the state test was because I taught myself everything. The staff is extremely unhelpful and disrespectful. They dont care about education or your well being, they just care if you made it in time to class in the small 3 minutes they give us to walk across the school. There is not one teacher in this school who can function properly. Teachers and staff are always being fired and constantly replaced. Last school year, my friend had 7 math teachers come and go. This year, I had 2 english teachers, 2 math teachers (one of them was a psychotic, abusive maniac), 2 principals, 3 PE coaches, and many more that I did not have. Teachers dont know how to handle their kids, so when they get too tired of them they call security to escort them to sit in a room and do nothing. They took away the privilege to use our cell phones during lunch and in between classes for no reason at all. The new principal is a sexist, homophobic, and unapproachable woman. This tragic excuse doesnt even deserve one star.

🎉Congratulations BGPA on YOUR REPORT CARD, middle school earned an A. It could not have happened without you Ms. Machado!!!👍After a rough first year, BGPA has its sea legs. Kudos to the only principal competent enough right this ship seamlessly, and its only your first year!!! The transformation you have guided has been remarkable. You took students from apathy and frustration to working overtime to keep pace with your elevated standards for their success. You are the best thing that happened to Bengamla and BGPA is fortunate to have you at the helm. You have transformed BGPA from merely a place students are required to be to a place students are required to succeed. Ms. Machado has raised expectations and in turn raised confidence among the student body (and ultimately raised middle schools grade to an A). When someone believes in you and your ability to succeed the possibilities are endless. Many thanks to Ms. Machado for giving my child the courage to dream big, the education to pursue her dreams, and the confidence to succeed.Ilana and David

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!!! As a student who has just graduated from Ben Gamla Prep, I honestly can say that this school doesnt even deserve one star!!! The school has MANY problems! The biggest of them all is the high school principal Ms. Machado. She is a NASTY woman who doesnt care about the seniors or juniors. She places all of her efforts upon the 8th graders in hopes that she will be able to keep them in the school. She NEVER responds to emails and has no respect for anyones needs. She walks around the school and brags about her boyfriend, who is friends with the owner of the school, and claims she is untouchable. I found it unacceptable that the seniors had to do everything for themselves since there was no guidance counselor, and Ms. Machado was no help whatsoever! It is DISGUSTING that the seniors had to throw their own prom, outside of the school, because Ms. Machado REFUSED to give us one! But yet, she made a prom possible for the 8th graders? Ridiculous!!! The only person holding this school together is Mr. Casa, the history teacher. Ms. Franconeri, the vice principal, has potential but is nasty and rude. She runs the school as if the students are in a military academy and degrades the students! Dont even get me started on the teachers! Mr. Donshik, the theater teacher, got upset at his students and threw 3 desks across the room, broke a students pencil, and crumpled their papers but never got fired!! How is that even okay? It is a shame that they ever opened this school! Please believe me, that if you love your children, this is not the school for them!!! STAY AWAY!

Okay, Im gonna be fully honest. Ive been in Ben Gamla for a long time and although this school isnt as good as the one across the street, I feel like one day it will get there. This school was built last year and I have seen a lot of improvements since last year. However, over the last couple of days, Ive been hearing people say that Im not prepared for my ap test. Many of the students pointed out that they havent seen their teachers in months! They say how the teachers are amazing at teaching but they just didnt take their ap class seriously. They would leave busy work for the students to do, leaving the kids very unprepared for the ap test. The teachers that were absent during their ap classes were busy doing other work for the school (the students are not blaming the teachers because it wasnt their fault they had to do more than their job). I am also disappointed at the fact that after our counselor left, we never got a new one! I mean, I dont know about other students but I felt like I was lacking a lot of college information and school guidance because no one was there to help me. Its nearly impossible to talk to Ms.Frankoneri: Vice Principal (who we are sent to when we need something a counselor would normally help us with). She is very stressed out and obviously is doing more than just her job. She tries to be nice and calm but ends up showing how stressed she really is). Point is, is that this school is seriously understaffed and still needs a lot of guidance in becoming a better school but hopefully next year these issues will be fixed and we will have a successful school year.

If I could give this school a rating less than a star, I would. My parents had me go here just to try it out and in middle school it was great. But now for my senior year in trying to transfer as soon as possible. Every time we get used to a teacher, THEY LEAVE. They dont even put in grades when they leave so your report card gets messed up and when you go to someone like Dr Berman (The Vice Principal) to see what you can do about it his response to everything is HE DOESNT KNOW. What kind of administration doesnt know about anything to do with the school or how to hep the students?! Report card grades and high school credits are literally being messed up because of them. Its a joke. The only few teachers that dont deserve this blame is Mrs Frost, Mr Shoifet, and Mr Piskun in my opinion. Speaking of we get yelled at for every good thing we try to do to better the school. The list goes on. Either way if you dont hate yourself or your children do not send them to this school. Its a miserable place to be.

Excellent school, excellent teachers, excellent communication with parents and students, parents always know the situation that occurs in the center, the extra-class assignments, as well as the exams. Care that students are picked up by their parents or authorized persons. I recommend the school and all of its staff if you want peace of mind while you work.

I love this school. Its organization and academic excellence are high compared to other schools. My son enjoys attending this school. Their teachers are always open to the concerns of us parents. Congratulation Ben Gamla. You are the best !!!

My experience at Bengamla Preparatory Academy. It has been very spatial, I had the opportunity to start working in school from theFirst day it opened its doors, I am very proud to know that this year mija Coming with us I feel part of this family since I have had theOpportunity to share with so many beautiful families knowing that your children are in a safe environment where you have a principal who cares as if they were her children where Human heat is very important. Each family is special to us because our students are part of us so well. Therefore I recommend that you have no doubts about sending your child to our school.

An enthusiastic College with desire, has the strength and youth of its members. Since my son entered the school I was well attended, Emilianas smile on the front desk comforts and reassures. Diego in the cafeteria greets everyone by name. A huge thanks to Professor Wilma Lusteg, always guiding the boys as their own.Principal Machado does an excellent job with the school, students and parents, she is an entrepreneurial woman, so I do not doubt that the School continues to grow. I love interracial integration, in harmony, Jews, Christians, Muslims, whites, Asians, Latinos, no matter what color your skin has, or where you come from, they all develop, play and grow.
