I absolutely adore this school even though I got withdrawn for not having the schools address. also because they changed my schedules 1st period without telling me and I accumulated too much absences that they had to either kick me out or worse...They have extremely poor organization and the school resource officer is a complete bigot, a parent with her child came in making false accusations towards me simply because i said i didnt want to talk to her any longer and i got taken to CHI in hopes that i would get baker acted. the only reason i got out is because i stated that it was illegal to keep me in an adult crisis unit without being in an actual crisis. PARENTS IF YOU ARE READING DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE IT WOULD CORRUPT EVEN THE BEST OF STUDENTS, even though they do have good sports, academies, and activities its definitely not worth it. the amount of drugs in this school is a much as an international drug cartel...

Trashy school, teachers, and people. Administrators dont care about you, they are waiting for you to be 16 so they can kick you out already. Fights are a daily, counselors dont care as long as you get out of their sight and graduate or drop out. If you care about your education dont come to this school at all costs. You can find more drugs here than in the streets of Opa Locka. They sell weed like hot coffee and other stuff you wont even find in the street, people smoke in the restrooms and on the PE fields. They have also recorded pornography on the restrooms several times only this year.

I really want to say its a good school I really do. But this school has a rampant drug problem that they cant seem to solve. As a student in south dade senior high I have seen kids smoking in the restrooms exchange weed for cash in the restrooms and hell they might even smoke outside at the pevelian. Keeping students in the class is also a problem as you normally have a large amount of students walking around in the hallways without a pass the whole period. Fights used to be a huge problem in this school but Ive seen less occur (although its still a problem) as the other reviews say this highschool can corrupt any kid who comes in and when I mean any, I MEAN ANY KID. Sure parents your son/daughter may be a angel but the minute he or she steps inside this school theyre failing two classes hasnt shown up to one class for the past grading period. Ranked up 100 class absences and now has to take summer school or night school for all the classes he or she failed thats the typical story for a student here. Give bare minimum and if you fail make it up next year. But this school was influential in my life I met some really good people here along with teachers and staff. Not everyone in south dade is out to fail the kids, the nicest teachers Ive had have only been there for 1-3 years and teachers always go in and out rarely do you find a teacher that stayed the full 4 years of your highschool experience in south dade. Parents if your planning on bringing your child to south dade make sure to monitor thier school performance attendance and grades to ensure a nice ride through south dade. Once again weed is a rampant problem here so always check those bags and educate your kids on drug use. In conclusion its a mostly mediocre school with huge flaws that need a lot of fixing but at the end of the day I am a buccaneer and this school is my home. 👍

Best school you can possibly assist yea it has its flaws but its way better than the rest of the schools in the area. Class of 2017!!!

This is one of the worst schools I have ever seen. Drugs are all throughout the school. The ratio for students is that there is over 3000 students and less then 200 faculty members. They do not provide the right counseling or assistance and they are simply a school looking for state funds. I pulled my child from this school and refuse to send my other child there next year.
