I come here for aerial yoga class. It’s been a year and half since I practice aerial yoga. I booked the class from the website, it takes me to a booking platform where it shows schedule of all classes.I took the AIReal Yoga with Katharine. She is very kind, sweet and helpful. For the first time I take class from Katharine, she provides steps by steps from how to open the hammock and secure each move. The class was very relaxing and I got to stretch out some stiff muscles which accumulated from work from home with bad ergonomic, workout and hiking adventures.Highly recommend if you’re looking to try out aerial yoga and stretch those tight muscles out!Tips: bring your own yoga mat and water!

Love the wide variety of classes that Still and Moving Center offers. The fact that they have gone the extra mile and placed all their classes online during the pandemic has been wonderful. I am grateful for having the opportunity to take so many classes from my home. Thank you Still and Moving Center!

Daylight savings had a small change in my being able to continue with classes right now. The time change meant my class was no longer given at 5 pm Alaska time, but to start at 6pm to 7pm. This is time I generally commit to fixing dinner and eating before my nightly 7:30pm call with my 92 year old mother living in another state, with a later time zone. I also started back to work for the summer. As soon as I can develop a different normal, I would love to start classes again. I will return, when I can.Lynn

From the first class several years ago till today, the professionalism of all instructors has been phenomenal. The value and variety of classes have been outstanding. The Still and Moving Center has been a one stop shop for me for all the above reasons, but most importantly for me, is their outstanding communication, patience and aloha spirit which makes them exceptional!

I am recovering from injury so I am pleased to find qualified instructors who are extremely qualified. I am especially grateful for the quiet energy in the voice of Uwe when he leads us in his classes. If I take as many classes as I am able, the monthly bundle price is a good buy for me.

I think the center has done an absolutely fantastic job at keeping the engagement high, and has done exceptionally well will virtual classes. Although we are apart, you really feel a connection with each of the instructors. I know my day is going to be amazing after starting class with the amazing faculty! There is a genre of movement available for every level and interest!I really never had experience studying Hula or Nia, but both classes are so much fun, the teachers are caring, and most importantly they focus on health, both physical and spiritual. I cannot compliment the center enough! WELL DONE!

The still and moving Center has engaging opportunities to heal the mind body and spirit.I am currently taking two types of classes regularly several times a week. As well as I attend a meditation session about compassionate practices. The two types of classes that I’m taking many of right now our Feldenkrais and hulaI am particularly enjoying the 5 Feldenkrais classes in which I’ve been healing all kinds of my body and staying fit in this time of having to stay home. In the time of the pandemic in particular it’s been reallyAmazing to be able to keep my body fit. It doesn’t take much space so most of us can do this at home. And the teacher is very loving and supportive. Somehow she figured out how to really see us as long as we have our cameras set up properly and enough light in the room. When I first started takin Feldenkrais I really thought about it about things like joints and the mechanics of the body… Lately I’ve been working with her and requesting to work on things like helping me breathe better and working with the stomach and she’s been able to do All the small practices in movements that not only help the organs but also the connective tissue and joints surrounding themThe other classes that I’m taking 5- Hula, 2- oli -Hawaiian chanting and ukulele. The teacher kumu hula Mālia Helelā is talented in music and dance and it’s an incredible wealth of information about the wine culture. She shares freely about the Hawaiian culture so we are learning language and stories. She brings in people from the community to help us better understand what’s going on and adds a depth and wealth to the courses that’s quite unusual…I am a trained academic with many decades working in universities And I have to admit I’ve never met a more talented teacher. She is gifted in knowing how to her information to you clearly and in a way that makes you want to learn. It never feels like you’re making a mistake, you feel like you’re moving Into a new way of learning. When you receive a correction from her it’s not in such a loving way that it’s a gift. This is been very unusual for me especially in Hula practices. The other part that I really love is that she wants you to share what you learn in appropriate ways but freely. The goal of the Hula classes that you can dance hula somewhere and share the dances with your loved ones in community. I find this just delightful after many years of dancing with groups who it was limited where and when you could share the dances. Of course she still need to be appropriate and be representing things as properly as you can. But the joy of dance is here in the hula practice. This is equally true for the oli -chanting classes and the ukuleleAnd she is just a delight the laughter and the pleasure that happens in these classes is worth it even if you don’t feel like dancing… A testament to the classes that when people are having a day where they just can’t dance for some reason or another. They’ll come to class anyways the beginning of class we share a gratitude. And then if they’re having a hard day or busy they’ll turn off the camera just so that they can be in the presence of the joy of the community. In this difficult time of the pandemic where we are isolated so much of the time and struggling in new ways of doing things. What a pleasure to find a place where someone knows how to build community and make connections through this two dimensional environment of soon. I’ve just gone on and on havent I … OK one more thing it’s really cool the classes have people from all over the world in them. Since they’re on zoom we can connect in from anywhere…So find a silver lining in your time during the pandemic. And then take it forward with you as we go back into the world again we can always come to hula and to Feldenfrais practices in the meditation practices that are offered through the Still & Moving center. I know that there are many other classes here but there’s only so much time in the day… And these classes have definitely filled my day with all I need

I was running late and it was my first time using zoom so it took awhile to log in. I enjoyed to service with Jody Hassel, as always she made me feel safe and comfortable. Since it was my first time I appeared on attendance as “iPhone” lol 😂 and they made an effort to acknowledge me in a way that was inviting and helpful, in the case I wanted to stay as “iPhone” lol it seems silly but it meant a lot. I would love to attend more TSY classes here 🙏🏻🌼🙏🏻

I love that I was welcomed to dance and be a part of Na Hula Ola Aloha with Kumu Malia Helela. I love that the support staff helped me to feel welcomed too. Now I love that although I am an ocean away, I can still feel welcomed and celebrated to dance with my kumu and hula honeys while enjoying my own home comforts and respecting the need for social distancing through zoom. I love that although, for a reason not known to me, I couldn’t sign into Mind Body from my computer, Still and Moving Center (SMC) support staff Kendra, patiently helped me over the phone and accepted my payment over the phone and saved in my account my payment for future classes. Basically, I love everything about Still and Moving Center! Renee is fabulous and kind. SMC is a gift to all who cross paths with the lovely Kaka’ako gem and choose to walk in. I look forward to visiting when I’m healthy and strong so I can share my gratitude in person. For now, I am forever grateful for all who make it possible for us to zoom classes through the most gorgeous dance health community center I’ve ever know. Thank SMC!! Aloha au iā oe!!!~Kahewaialoha~

The center is clean, organized and run with care. The instructors are very knowledgeable and experienced. It’s a great place. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the parking is really bad. I’m sure they know it bc the whole vibe is incredibly good energy except with parking - wow, parking can make these zen people very cranky. I get it though.
