EF Honolulu was just amazing; the staff is always there for you and the people are kind and caring. The place is beautiful and the activities are unforgettable.

I went to EF school Honolulu last year and it was an amazing experience. My English, initially at a basic level, has improved significantly in 3 months. The school is very organized and the teachers are professional and helpful. If you think it is only for young people, you are wrong! EFschool is a great opportunity for adults too.

A few months ago I was on a course in Honolulu, Hawaii. Lessons in such an exotic place were great, conducted in various ways, it could not be said that it was boring, even everyone was waiting for the next lessons. All employees were friendly and helpful. I also met many people at my age, constantly communicating in English, which increased my language skills. I visited the whole island, which is beautiful and I have a baggage of experience. I will definitely want to go to the next EF courses. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn a language and experience a great adventure.

I had the chance to work with the EF Honolulu team for a month — and I had the time of my life. Everyone there really loves what they do, and from what Ive heard from students at the school when I was there, everyone can feel it. Of course, Honolulu is an amazing place but the EF team makes it even better. They all make sure that students get the full Hawaiian experience. Going there is definitely worth it. Youll never want to leave!

I‘ve been in Honolulu for 8 weeks.The best thing about my trip was, that through EF I‘ve met really good people.The classes are always a bit unvaried, but instead everything was perfectly nice.I‘ve lived in the Waikiki Vista Student Residence. I can really recommend the Residence.Honolulu is a great place to be and you should also visit the other islands.

I highly recommend the EF school in Honolulu and language program! It was my third trip with EF and the last two times I was in Honolulu.Such of beautiful country, nice people and Aloha Spirit. You will feel the affection and warm support everywhere. Great teachers and school director, the school and student residence ‚Waikiki Vista’. My highlights were all the activities like surfing, hiking, ukulele lessons, hula sessions and more. I love discovering of the Hawai’i s culture and I will definitely come back. Mahalo for all.

EF Honolulu is such a great place to have new experiences and improve your English and learn from different cultures, unfortunately, the staff and the teachers I feel so bad for them, they almost dont make any money there their salary is not competitive at all, and they still being friendly with all of the students, must of the teachers needs to have another job so they can at least pay for their food, poor people I would like to say they are very friendly and this company keep all the money just for them, this is very dishonest, the host families they have are very nice people but they cannot afford and have more 2 students at the time, the money they receive is the same amount EF offer since 2011 when I came to visit Hawaii. hopefully someone can read my message about this and do something. I feel so sorry about the people there

It really was one of the best experiences of my life to study at EF Honolulu and live in Hawaii. In my opinion, teachers, staff, infrastructure and security are the big differences of EF Honolulu. I was very well received, the course exceeded my expectations and the outside activities are very nice and safe. I certainly recommend this English school not only for the course, but also for the world reference it has.

The best destination of my life! All the staff members were nice and helpful. We played many games to study English. My friends and I went to visit the other islands. There are so many things to do and learn about the culture. The landscapes were fabulous. I do not regret it at all. Seriously, Honolulu is a fantastic destination so do not hesitate to go there :)

HI! I went to Hawaii for 2 weeks with EF last summer, this was an incredible trip! During the week we had English class and a SPIN-class. I chose Surf-class, because of the school there were surf teachers, this was explorative and the surfing was really fun! Also in English class there was always a good atmosphere, with music, rap, rhyme and interesting discutions,... I was there with EF for weeks. And I really liked the time that I spend there. The school was nice, my host was cool and the people who live there were always smiling. I met so many people and we keep contact. And If I could go back there now, I could take the first flight. So I really to recommend Honolulu and the other wonderful part of Hawaii island.

EF Honolulu is an amazing school, with awesome teacher ! I recommanded EF Honolulu to all my Friends. Nigh and Madeleine are still at the office for all your questions. I had a problem with My accodation The first day, they were understanding, they help me immediately to find a solution. And they put me at the hub first. Then, I went to and amazing host family who made me discover the island, I am still in touch with them.The school isn’t huge, Bur very friendly, you feel like at home. Just at 10 minutes by walk form the famous Waikiki beach, and the barbecue at Army beach with EF.Obviously if I have the chance to go back to Hawaii in few years, I will go back to the EF Honolulu because it’s more than the a simple school, it’s a family !

I had also a really stressful experience here. EF is not the best organization.!. You think about it and you imagine a really nice place, clean, with so many people working there to help you and you do not find it. I had a really difficult time there. I was 15 when I traveled to Hawaii.the surf class was horror, the teacher does not pay attention to students who are not so fast to follow.!I had Really bad host families. All of theme (they were 3) a different problem. Non of them was clean at all. none of EF felt responsible thats a shame.i had everything swiss People in the host family‘s.!i wanted to stay there 3 months, but I went home after 1 Month!The only thing that was ok was the lesson with Murray Thank you.Hawai’i is beautiful but not with EF

EF Honolulu is the perfect place to improve your English - modern building (with tidy classrooms and a stylish lounge) which is located on the Main Street of Waikiki, friendly staff members and super close to the beach so that you can spend your free time tanning :) I would love to go there again.

I was student at EF Honolulu in summer 2018 and it was the best 6 months of my life! I met amazing people from all around the world and had breathtaking experiences. I tried surfing and it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. The hikes in Hawaii are gorgeous and even though I was a bit afraid of the heights I loved it. Also traveling to other islands is totally worth it, I personally went to Maui and Kauai with my friends. The people in Hawaii are very kind and friendly and I made lots of local friends as well. I learned so much about other cultures and languages. The staff at school was always very friendly and helpful and some of them actually became my friends. They were always there if you needed help or just wanted to chat. And ofcourse my English got better. After my trip I could say my English was almost fluent. I also did the CAE exam during my stay. I fell in love with Hawaii and I will definitely he back some day.

I am a resident of the community where the Ef building dorms are located it is getting to be down right frustrating the way this company lets its students conduct themselves, music, drinking and screaming in the honolulu streets past 10pm the nosie curfew till whenever they feel like where people who work sleep its not cool its rude Ive called the police Ive asked and yelled still no cooperation from students or Ef Im going to start contacting the head office in Cambridge Ma about this problem after I call the police agian. Hi, Im Valentino, a boy from Puglia. I was in EF Honolulu in August and September 2018, then Honolulu island of Oahu of Hawaii, is a beautiful city, with fabulous beach nearby waterfalls and adventures; unlike EF Miami and EF San diego, life here is much more quiet based on beaches, lessons in the morning or afternoon, and island adventures, its not like Miami or a bit like SD where you have a lot of evenings! The EF Honolulu school is located on the only floor of a 7 floor building, nice but not big, the lessons are quiet and its a nice environment. My negative notes are for the residence where you sleep, first I was in the HUB which is really bad, old and far from school, then we moved to another (Wikiki Vista) structure 5 minutes from the school, very nice I had a room on the 17th floor. Nothing to say about the cleanliness and location of the (residence where you sleep), but it is always a dormitory, and is separate from the EF school and is also managed by another agency, which is why you do not live in the college environment, very useful to know people, speak english and have a good experience, thats why i cant give more d 3 stars for the EF Honolulu organization. Last advice I want to give is on EF San diego which for me is TOP! also not bad EF Miami. I am available for any advice or how to save. Greetings Valentino on instagram WEKAPPA;)

I returned from 3 weeks to EF Honolulu and I recommend to 200% the destination! The school and the residence are very well located (close to the beach and shops), activities and landscapes are whew: snorkeling with dolphins and turtles, hiking with a view, possibility to visit the neighboring islands, etc .; not to mention the courses of specific interest which, alongside English, allow you to discover Hawaiian culture, learn to surf, to play ukulele, to dance the hula or to practice yoga! One of the most beautiful experiences of my life! Learning English in a setting like this is a daydream! MAHALO EF.

What to say...? I stayed for 2 weeks in August 2019. It was the best trip of my life. The team on site is great, very kind, and always looking for your satisfaction. The lessons are great, the classes very well distributed with other students of the same level as you, the teachers very educational! In two weeks with EF I have made real progress. The residence is top notch, located a few minutes walk from the school. The sea is right next door, as is the waikiki district! This trip has enriched me personally. If I had only one thing to say, it would be Mahalao!

I traveled with EF to Honolulu in July 2019, and it was by far one of the best experiences of my life.Already, the home team is really great. I had an accommodation problem at the beginning (I had asked to be in residence but I found myself in a host family) but the staff were able to straighten out the situation and find me a place in the residence . Residence which is also extremely well located, a few steps from the school, the beach, Waikiki ...The lessons are very interesting, the teachers really attentive. We are not too much in the classroom, which promotes dialogue and thats super important! Unfortunately I only stayed 2 weeks, but I intend to go back.I will not hesitate to recommend this school, you will not be disappointed!Thank you to the entire EF Honolulu team for an amazing stay.Mahalo

Shameful.I have been on a language trip with EF for the last 5 months and unfortunately I have only accumulated problems with this school and their system that always brings everything back to the money.Before my departure, I had of course sold the dream, both for host families and for the quality of teaching. This dream quickly collapsed when I arrived.I explain to you: my objective with this trip was to improve my English so to integrate a good school at the next school year in France. I also wanted to discover a new culture (through host families for example).My first host family was just unacceptable. The food that was offered to me was simply no longer edible since some times it had been cooked more than 2 weeks ago. So I got sick for 2 weeks. She never gave me food for the weekend for lunch knowing that normally this was understood.The house seemed rather attractive outside but, once again, inside the cleanliness was not known to the owner. The dogs were simply doing their groundwork (so we had to watch or set foot).After 2 months in this house I finally decided to report my problems to the housing manager. He told me word for word that I was the problem and that I had to talk to the owner. So I discussed with the owner to tell him all the problems related to food (I also offered to help him prepare). Unfortunately the situation improved only during 2 days.The following week, I reiterated. I went back to see the person in charge of the housing. After several days of discussion he offered me a new home. Just before moving, another student told me that this new home was clearly worse than in the one I was living in at that time since she had just left this host family for the same reasons as mine!I stayed 1 more month in this house since I had no other solutions.A few days later a new roommate arrived in my host family and he quickly noticed the same problems. So we decided to change the host family together after being informed with another student that there was room within his host family.This new family was definitely better than the first (in the first moments).After 2 or 3 weeks, the owner changed his behavior. He did not give us much to eat. For the morning we were limited in quantity (since not enough for all the students of the house: 5 students). We also had to buy things because he said it was too expensive.Subsequently, he started sending us messages to inform us that if we did not return before 22H we would be expelled from his home. One weekend he even let us go to town to send us a message 2 minutes later telling us that it was not useful to go home to sleep since the door would have been closed.See more in the photo: ->

I got to know great friends here and was very well supported by the school in learning English. The lessons were fun and many great activities were offered. I can only recommend !

For future EF students, here is my experience at EF Honolulu from January to March.First of all, the good sides; the island is beautiful and you quickly feel safe there although Honolulu is still a big city with all that these can entail, there are a lot of activities to do through EF or not.The school setting is perfect, with views of the mountains and a stretch of ocean leading to the port.The school is very well located in a beautiful neighborhood and is 10 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the largest open-air shopping center in the world.In addition, the spirit of mutual aid is present among the Hawaiians, far from home it is rather reassuring to live with the aloha SpiritThe bad side; during our first interview with the EF Marseille team, this one told us that the host families are not paid and do it for fun and to exchange cultures which is totally false. On the spot I fell into a family in which we were only between EF student (8 students) and this one taking us the evening meal without saying hello or even discussing, and the meal was dry rice with chicken or dry beans, and full board was not applied on weekends, moreover we had to live with a rat and cockroaches.To change foster families it was laborious, the person who takes care of the foster families does not care about my case, I had to wait almost 1.5 months to change families.In addition, EF communication is unacceptable, before purchasing my trip I received a call from them every day, finally to remind me, after my purchase they had completely forgotten about me, no more calls during the 5 months following my purchase until when I left.Then, the COVID episode, in March after the announcement of confinement in France, I made the decision to return because I no longer wanted to be on the other side of the world far from my family, and knowing that school was going closing its doors a few days later I didnt know where I was going while staying in Honolulu.My trip normally lasted until June 5, 2020 and I left on March 17, 2020.I am now waiting for answers regarding a possible refund but it seems that my emails do not have enough weight for them to answer me (Probably too busy managing their new advertising campaign for September)I had a rather eventful experience as you can see, but I am grown up but I still have a bitter feeling about all these mishaps.

Excellent language school in which I stayed 3 weeks. Everything is well equipped, with a large room with different distractions, a cafeteria with simple but very good meals. All the staff of the school is on top, always with a smile and available if you have the slightest problem. Is really recommended. From the school it is very easy to walk about 10 minutes on Wikikibeach as well as on other beaches. The activities are super organized and inexpensive. The student card also gives you many discounts to different locations and other extracurricular activities.You learn English not only at school, but also in your free time and in host families.At school you have different spin classes (electives) such as Surfing, ukulele, Hawaiian culture, etc.However, one has to be aware that the cost of living is rather high in Hawaii, especially in Honolulu.If you have an open personality it is very easy to find new friends for life, but otherwise you are very quickly integrated into everyday life.

If I could put 0 stars I would. I went 6 months to Hawaii with EF, it happened to me that miseries and no one from EF helped me. Firstly it is extremely expensive and in English lessons you will play games, colors, watch movies, you will not learn anything. There are no courses and they are not real teachers, if you go there to learn English forget.Second, you are told in an agency that the host families will be less than 20 minutes from the school. Totally wrong. I was in a family where I put 1:30 to get there. Then the families are not checked, 2 girlfriends of mine had to flee their family because the people were not correct, they did not have to eat, a friend of mine slept on a mattress on the floor, not even a bed. Families receive money (contrary to what you are told) to receive you, they receive money for food, but some families do not give you any meals. And, once there, EF will no longer answer you on the phone, you will find yourself alone, nobody will want to change your family. EF reassures you and afterwards sends young people without any security or foresight. A minor girlfriend had to flee her family because the mother was an alcoholic and drug addict.Then, there my host mom died, I called EF to warn them they told me that I couldnt change my family and that I had to stay there. In a family in mourning ... irresponsible. Traumatized by the death before my eyes of this host mom, I asked to go to a student residence with friends to support me, EF replied that it was not possible. They left me to fend for myself without help. They told me that psychological help was going to be put in place, I had no help. I asked to change country they made me an invoice in addition to 600 euros to change.Then in student residences or even in families you are told that o will not put 2 French people together to avoid speaking French, that is wrong. In my family I had 3 French. Ditto in student residence.EF owed me meals, vouchers as they call it, I never had them, they stole a lot of money from me. I come out of this traumatized experience. I lodged a complaint with near EF once in France, they said to me Im sorry for you its shameful. They steal, lie, cheat and if your foster mother dies before your eyes they tell you there is nothing they can do. They will end up in court, it is illegal what they do.In short, parents, I do not advise you, I forbid you to travel.Ps: for reimbursements, get up early, they do not reimburseNo compensation has been made to me, I am still awaiting a return and a reimbursement from them for the trauma of which I was the victim, for failure to assist anyone in danger. My host mother died in my arms and when I called ef they told me that he could not do anything and that there was no possibility of changing families. I come back traumatized from this experience and I have no response from EF. Qd there is a bp they disappear.

I was in Hawaii in spring April 2018.The transfer from the airport to the host family worked really well.I was very disappointed with the school. Not only in Hawaii but also afterwards in Miami. Nobody could help me, not even the employees from Switzerland.My plan was first to do a 6-month language stay with a degree, after that it was unfortunately only 3 months without a final exam.I could never change my class, I didnt get any real help and I paid so much for that and yet I hardly learned any English.Hawaii is awesome! I regretted canceling it so early and moving to Miami too early ... so I lost a lot of money!I would prefer to go back, but with new teachers, so that I can benefit from it and learn English.I hope the EF agency takes it seriously. I didnt get a big apology or compensation. I was also given empty promises.Write a comment 1 year later because I miss Hawaii and I just have to think about it.Still there in thought ..Missing Hawaii and Surfing

I loved my experience its a great school. The staff are attentive to our needs. There are a lot of activities on the schedule. School was mediocre, other EF places like San Diego have better schoolsAccommodation was fineHowever, the school makes every effort to ensure that students have a comfortable stay.Honolulu itself is great, but for half a year I would personally go somewhere else.

Amazing place with a magical staff for a truly amazing stay

I spent two weeks at EF Honolulu in January 2014. I loved it!Regarding the pedagogical part, the teachers were attentive and very available. We were only a dozen per class, and whats more, we were mixed with different nationalities from around the world. My classmate was so Japanese, with whom I could improve my English throughout my stay, while having a good time. The school is very modern, and computers are available during opening hours.On the other hand, the school is located in the heart of Honolulu, just a few minutes walk from the famous Waikiki Beach. The residence where I stayed with a Swedish girl, was located in front of the school, and close to all necessary amenities.EF followed me before, during, and after my stay, I had the chance to have a counselor entirely dedicated, thanks to whom I could approach this stay in all peace of mind!What to say about Honolulu? An incredible city, where the activities are endless: treks, beaches, parachute jumping ... The archipelago of Hawaii is composed of several islands, which guarantees a stay rich in activities and discoveries :)
