I highly recommend their training! I use to be afraid of open water, my coach Oleksii was very patient with me, he taught me many safety skills that definitely help me to feel more comfortable swimming in lakes and ocean. I also learn techniques to use less energy to swim faster and further, it’s really cool! I’m planning to take more lessons next time I go to Hawaii!

Just finished a month of lessons with Coach Losha. The training itself and how much I improved was way more than I ever expected. I had tried to swim many times in the past but had residual fear from a few almost drownings as a child. Because of his expertise, experience and natural ability to teach, he clearly explained the importance of buoyancy and the drills to achieve that in the water. Swimming can be such a complicated, technical sport and he is able to explain it in an understandable way. He makes it fun and has a great sense of humor.I had chosen him after I saw him working with a triathlete and noticed how much energy he was putting into improving that person’s skill. I felt he treated me no differently and truly wants each person to be their personal best.So excited to continue with the drills on my own and notice the improvements. And not only for the physical reasons. I found them very meditative and healing mentally as they force me to not think about work or any other aspect of life.I never thought I would be able to take lessons from a champion swimmer. Such a treat and memorable life experience.

This was my first time taking this kind of swim lessons that focused on drills. From the initial assessment on, lessons were planned out specific to my needs and ability. I liked how progressive drills are broken down and reasons they are done this way were clearly explained to re-train my brain and movements. It wasnt easy for me and Losha was patient and encouraging, but also pushed me enough to motivate me to practice. I want to improve and I know this is the way to do that. Thank you so much!

I worked with Losha to improve my swimming so that I could swim longer distances. It wasnt what I expected, but the results were great. Swimming is more technical than I expected, and a lot of time was working on relaxing in the water so that I had the proper foundation for decent swimming techniques. By the end of the lessons, I was a significantly better swimmer than I started. I highly recommend him.

I had a swimming lesson with Losha and he was great! He easily assessed my swimming style and saw what I was doing wrong, and with some instructions on how to make adjustments, and reinforcing them with drills, I was swimming farther with less effort. Very impressed with his overall approach and ability to get noticable results right away. Highly recommended.

Great school, very talented instructors with ability to explain full dynamics of how our body engages with water instead of telling “you just need to feel it”. So far no regrets I am highly recommending.

I signed up for Swim Lessons Hawaii because I was not confident in the water and always wanted to be complete my open water PADI certification. I signed up for fundamental skills program which teaches treading water, backstroke, and freestyle. Treading water for me was basically impossible before and can’t believe after the 4 week course, I am able to tread water in place for more than 5 minutes. My confidence now in the water has surpassed my expectations as I am able to complete 500 yards freestyle without stopping! For me it is important on the coaching because focusing on the fundamentals and going over them every lap made me realize that technique actually makes a huge difference. Now I’m able to practice on my own and pushing myself to complete an open water swim once this pandemic is over.

I signed up for group lessons to work on my free style stroke. Getting lessons from a former Olympian was my main reason for signing up. The knowledge and experience from my instructor Alex made me realize how inefficient I was in the water all these years. Alex explained all the COVID safety rules before entering the pool and what he expected from us in return.Having swam in a few competitions in the past, I thought I didnt need much coaching with my free style stroke. Let me be the first to tell you that there was so much I didnt know about my bad habits and the reason for always having shoulder pain. Having an expert coach you on every stroke and every lap can be daunting but one has to understand how athletes make it to the top level. Every body position and stroke made the difference and Alex was there to make sure I didnt deviate.Unforgettable experience for me and grateful for the opportunity. I highly recommend Swim Lessons Hawaii for beginners to advanced swimmers!!Support local business and give them a call!!

As an adult who fears water and has never been involved in water activities, these lessons helped me immensely. So, if you are thinking of learning as an adult, or if you want to improve your swimming skills, I recommend you to sign with them. My instructor Losha is a professional coach; with his Strategies, you feel the improvement after every single lesson

Enjoyable experience with swim lessons Hawaii. I came with Ironman and triathlon experience, however my coach identified some areas of weakness in my technique. With couple simple drills I noticed efficiency and more elegance in my stroke. I was surprised by the coach patience during my progression and by his technical detail breaking down the swim in key points. I am looking for future collaboration and improving my swimming stroke in a relax and more elegant one.

Ok to be honest I only wanted to learn how not to drown in the deep end. I took the “ Swim Lessons Hawaii “ Deep water-treading course first, they taught me just that. No swimming level you are, you will learn breathing, floating etc and how to tread water in that class.I was so amazed of my progress that I signed up for his longer beginners class. He reinforced the fundamentals, taught me how to float on my back and doggie paddle by the 2nd class. Sounds trivial, but that gave me the confidence I needed to move unto more advanced things. I learned how to doggie paddle with my head out of the water the entire time! Thats right breathing and moving forward with little effort.I never practiced what he taught from the deep water treading class I mentioned. He stresses how important that is.Fast forward to the 3rd class and I was actually so ready to jump into the deep end this time. The goal of this third class was to let go of the wall and get comfy with the deep-end. I decided to practice doggie paddling, treading water a little. At the end of the class he said, ok you are all on the deep-end you know everything you need to know. Why dont you float first, get on your back and swim on your back to the other end of pool. Coach Losha is so charismatic and such a great motivator. I followed his instructions and my calves actually cramped on the deep end while I was on my back. Guess what I did not freak out because he teaches you how to move with only your legs and with only your arms. I opted to just use my arms. He also makes the effort to teach you things that will make you drown. After the 3rd class I knew I could swim!By class 4 and 5 I was talking with my head above the water, freestyle swimming across the pool and overtly happy. In conclusion the one thing I would warn anyone is about is to be PATIENT. It may seem odd that you come to swim and you dont learn how to freestyle right away. Ignore that, Coach Losha is teaching you all the FUNDAMENTALS  and how to be EFFICIENT. The FUNDAMENTALS will allow you be as calm as a dove and save your life in deep water. The EFFICIENCY part will teach you how to glide across the water and give you a sense of control that you need. 5 Star review! I never thought I would be in such deep water talking and laughing without laying on my back. Thank you Coach Losha , you have mastered the art of Teaching.

Recently just took a lifeguard review/recertification class in Honolulu City, and I feel as though this class was as efficient as it could have been making this class go from the normal two day to a one day. I live out of the area, so it was extremely nice to only have to come for one day. I was with two instructors, one of which I appreciated a lot for her engagement with the class and her dedication to ensuring that we understood everything that we would be tested on (Alison). The other instructor, while a bit harsh, was understanding and answered all questions I asked in an efficient manner (Losha). The exams were much more engaging than previous courses, and I felt like the material was applicable to my job to keep others safe. The instructors stayed late with me to finish up my exam, and were passionate about making sure each individual person had their techniques perfect and their understandings clear. Some may think this class was nit-picky, but I believe that without the attention to detail that Swim lessons Hawai’i showed during recertification, we would have less safe swimming areas. Thank you so much Swim Lessons Hawaii .

Today I finished 12 swim lessons with Coach Losha. I’m in my 40’s, never learned to swim and was terrified of the water. Losha is an incredible coach who patiently guided me through drills, each building on the one before, and never put me in a situation where I didn’t feel safe. His teaching style is the perfect combination of technique and direction mixed with patience. I also very much appreciate that I didn’t just learn how to get from point to point b, but learned proper swimming form. I’m genuinely excited to continue practicing and make swimming a regular part of my exercise routine - not to mention all the fun things I can now do in Hawaii! Thank you Losha and Swim Lessons Hawaii for such a great experience. I recommend them to anyone looking for a swim coach!!

I visited Hawaii from NY for a month for my job. I have a huge fear of deep water and my friend recommended this school for classes. I thought the teachers did an amazing job and really made me feel comfortable. I wish a place like this existed in NYC for me to go to. Definitely would recommend to a swimmer with any level of experience.

I just finished the last class of the LEVEL 2 Swimming course and I cant believe how much I learned in 6 weeks!! I took a beginners course elsewhere about 2 years ago but I still didnt know how to do an actual lap without stopping (freestyle swimming with proper breathing). Through the 6 sessions, Losha really took the time to show the class how to do a proper lap in steps that were easy to understand. There were about 10-11 people in our class and he was still able to observe and help each person with the specific difficulties they were having. He really makes an effort to get to know you and the issues/concerns you have. One week I was having trouble turning my head without sinking and he showed me what I was doing wrong and told me what I should be doing so I wouldnt sink. He remembered the next week and followed up with me to see if I was still having trouble with it.I HIGHLY recommend taking one of Loshas classes!! His classes are very instructive and fun! Im not afraid of the water but I do have a few friends who are and want to learn how to swim and Ive already recommend him for the beginners course. Although I never took that class, there were several people in my class that had previously taken his beginners course and really enjoyed it. I feel like he would be a great teacher for someone who was afraid of water. Hes friendly and funny and definitely makes you feel at ease in the water.Thank you Losha for an amazing class!!

It’s an honor to have trained with Losha, head coach of Swim Lessons Hawaii. What begun as simply learning how to swim quickly altered to a personal drive and dream of competing in IronMan. One lesson after another, my mind became clearer and much more focused on swimming techniques and safety skills in the swimming pool and open waters. What set Losha apart from others was his experience and ability to quickly pinpoint and correct errors without hesitation or delay. Furthermore, he had excellent interpersonal skills and treated everyone with the aloha spirit. We started off as strangers but I now consider him as a friend. That is the meaning of Ohana. I therefore highly recommend him, whether you’re a beginner or advanced swimmer, without reservations.
