Like many others I value my education and take pride in becoming a first generation college graduate in my family. I wanted to study Psychology at the doctoral level and so when I was accepted into a competitors program, I was jumping for the moon. I completed all of my courses and sailed through my residencies ( 3 in total), and then they lost their accreditation and recommended that we ( the students) complete our studies elsewhere. This is when I stepped back and took a very hard look at what schools are offering. I sat out for over 8 years and actually became quite discouraged. Then I found AIU, I have to tell you first what attracted me to the school, not just the price but the curriculum is owned by you the student. You design what you need to graduate and move forward with your life. I started this month and I am already in phase 2 of 4, and headed to the construction of my thesis. AIU understands that you should have guidance with your course of study, but that ultimately, you are in control of what you want to learn and study. There is no repeat of what I have already learned and went into debt for. THIS IS A REAL SCHOOL. I immediately qualified for a scholarship reducing my overall tuition by 4k. I quite honestly love this Atlantic International University because it made it easier for me to use elibrary and use quality recommended books to do my preparation for exams and assignments in my studies.Their students study management is very efficient and I dont recall when I got lost because my tutor and course Coordinator are right there when I needed help.Finally I want to thank the Chinese for making cheap smart phones and computers that has helped me to do my work efficiently. If you dont have proper ICT support you get stuck and shifting blame to others.AIU is providing guide only and they are using quality academic books if you want to challenge the authors of these quality books and make comparisons then go ahead.I dont want to know if AIU has a physical campus, its not my worry. I am currently a PhD student in this university. I study organizational behaviour. The universitys self learning program is one of most dynamic learning opportunities that can help students develop skills and abilities to improve on their area of competencies. I have earned a bachelor and a masters from a conventional or traditional university in my country Nigeria, so I know the difference. I have had to interact with the tutors at AIU and found that what is going at AIU is not a fluke. The online programs and phases are difficult but a dedicated and hard working student will be able to overcome. The fees are student friendly such that any student will be able e to meet the terms. The academic programmes are also of international standard. Although in Nigeria online degrees are not accepted for jobs but I have found a substantial number of Nigerians employed after taking their degrees from AIU. Your choice is a matter of personal decision. I came to know about AIU through the Facebook platform and when contacted the school was quite impressed how they immediately helped me to enrol. I have done some presentations and I fill fulfilled that the Doctorate program is worth doing.

This is a private school? Why students have to pay an initial fee in order to get a scholarship? That not make any sense at all.

I graduated at AIU in Business administration and my knowledge and skills at work and in general improved greatly, my colleagues noted too. Those who say this is a Diploma Mill dont know what they are talking about. I guess for you being educated means possessing an accredited paper by so so etc., well for me it is the knowledge and skills that one gain & possess. This is a great university. E-learning is a new idea in education, so it will be difficult for unknowledgeable person to understand and appreciate such mode of learning hence disbelieves and improper assessments. AIU stands out as one of the best e-learning (open university education) providers. The accreditation issue is made clear in her website to justify her sincerity and transparency in her operations. However, accreditation of higher education is not universal, some are handled by government agencies especially in African countries while independent agencies performs same in some other countries. My experience as a student at AIU even at orientation level is awesome and far from being a diploma milling type of exercise.

I did my Master at AIU and that was one of my greatest achievement. Now, there are those who say that that University is a diploma mill school but after graduating from that university I was able to develop the first Algorithm Workbook in the Caribbean, publish the first Information Technology Textbook (approx 800 page) with a credit card pen drive that carries an APP with over 2000 questions and answers.It is not the school that makes anyone, it is your attitude that you bring to the table. While studying for my masters I had to work just as hard as when i was at University of Oxford doing my Bachelors and Mico University doing a diploma in Secondary Education.Sure, they are not accredited by the US State department. Every school was not accredited before they became such. Furthermore, this is because in order for you to get accreditation, the school has to increase tuition cost and impose some ridiculous fees on students......My money was well spent at AIU...................

Run away. This school purports to be accredited by Accrediting Committee International. There mission statement reads, Helping non-government regulated Schools, Colleges, and Theological Seminaries to have good educational processes, good educational processes to be better and better educational processes to be the best - One institution at a time! (WHAT???!!!)This sounds like it was written by a high school kid, maybe 9th grade? In truth, AIU is not accredited. In my line of work, as in the community I work with, degrees from this school are not thought of to much and the people who graduate are not hired. In fact, the industry I am in considers this a diploma mill.AIU states that Atlantic International University has avoided seeking accreditation by a recognized agency by the US Dept. of Education because that process is obsolete and would be in conflict with the University´s Mission to offer affordable, quality higher education to the non-traditional student.This is the biggest load of crap ever disseminated. This statement alone should make one flee screaming.Real accreditation is somewhat expensive, however, the cost is carried well into the future and is no more than an operating expense. IN TRUTH.....AIU has decided that they do NOT want to subject their programs to accreditation scrutiny. This is far more complicated and time consuming to ensure your programs and instructors are truly qualified. Schools such as APUS, AMU, both online schools, are accredited and guarantee their programs are of high quality. That is the point...the highest in quality and practice by ethical means.DONT DO IT......there are far better online choices within the United States who carry regional accreditation and where you can earn an accredited degree...not a piece of paper.
