Its my first time taking a computer course with this company and I have to say that I actually enjoy it. Nice facility! Great materials including exam prep. Very helpful staff. The teachers are knowledgeable, full of industry experiences and willing to help. From an admitted students perspective, I am incredibly grateful to have met Jeff Burkart - he has been instrumental in helping me achieve my educational dreams, all while being an absolute joy (hes a walking encyclopedia, only funnier!) to work with.

Poor poor communication from this school. Call them and it take like a day or two for them to call you back starting school soon and don’t know what else I need to do. Again poor lack of communication.

Great way for a veteran to get back into the the civilian world with structure and training. New Horizons will actively network for you in the your job search process. Makes the transition from soldier to civilian a much less stressful process.

Ive worked in IT for over 15 years and had a positive perception of New Horizons coming into my CCNA Security class, but they quickly derailed that.Upon complaining to my rep, he offered me a free retake of the class, which I politely declined. The class was so worthless in preparing me for the certification that Im opting for the textbooks over an instructor-led class.I paid $2,000 for the equivalent of a live training video and am just as unprepared for the test as I was when I started the class. You wont catch me wasting my time OR money at New Horizons again, ever.

So the other day Ive received a call from this place.Missed the first call but they left me a voice mail stating they have a job opportunity for me because of my resume and prior military background. I got excited thinking things were looking up for me and immediately called back.No answer so I left a message out of curiosity.Next day I received a call in the morning from New Horizons again.Conversation started off great, however heres the pitch. The lady started off about a job opportunity because of my analytical and problem solving skill on my resume and military background.Only problem soling was on my resume and not analyticalShould have thrown her off and ask what was my MOS.Now then she offers the job and ask what would I like to do at New Horizons.I thought they were offering me a job, so why would they ask me that? They either have a job opportunity for a position or dont.Or how other companies throw their sales pitch.I explained what I would like to do short and long term in my future. And she still throwing her pitch around about they have training available and I can you assistance from the VA and receive payment while training.Sounds like they like guaranteed checks from the government! So are you not offering me employment? I asked begrudgingly! Then the final questions came up. Asking me if you are looking something now or for your future?Ive replied with now.Not even within five seconds her response is Okay Ill remove you from our list, and have a good day! Catching a hint of rudeness and the end of that statement. Before I even had a chance to politely say goodbye, she had already hung up.If you are trying to pitch to potential students how this may beneficial their futures. Dont be shady and try to disguise education opportunities as employment when I your not going to plan to pay the student in the first place. And use my benefits to your advantage!Id be receiving payment from the government, not from New Horizons. And those for people calming that house allowance and income are the same thing. That is entirely false! Ones tax free and you payed for it with 4 years you can never get back. The other is taxed and comes with a bit of returns in the spring.

I spent several thousand dollars of my money on a class from their top rated instructor that doesnt rival the free resources available online. This NH class is offered free as a retake, but even without costing a dime the class is so worthless that it isnt worth the vacation time to retake the course.Even if all New Horizons classes became free, I still wouldnt waste my time with this place. Their business model is irrelevant in 2018 and their sales rely on unsuspecting aspiring IT professionals who dont quite realize what they are paying for.*New Horizons is the Blockbuster Video of the decade. *Youre much better off investing your money in Lynda and CBT Nuggets, but not INE, depending on your technology focus.Bottom line: dont waste your time! Even if this was free, it still wouldnt be worth it.

Great staff, but their training is basically a glorified CBT Nugget training. When you sign up youre given lab materials that only last for the duration of the class, then expire. Their certification labs are rushed to squeeze them into the narrow class time. I only completed about 66% of the labs, taking my time to learn them, and learned after the class that the labs expire and are simply lost (use it or lose it).As someone with a moderate amount of industry experience in the certification area I had inquired before the class what the certification pass rates were. They were reluctant to answer and dont track certification rates because there is no possible way, unless their class was just the icing on the certification cake, that anyone could pass with just a week of training. It would take 2-3 courses to be able to pass the exam. They probably need to rethink their 5-day timing and extend it into the second week. The New Horizons top-rated instructor was only about 10% a part of the class, just talked off a PowerPoint, and the rest was simply taking the lab manual and making my way through labs. While an instructor talking more isnt going to teach you what you need to know, this demonstrates the training is more of an illusion.I am highly disappointed in my experience, yet again in the last 5 years and recommend the following. It is better and will save you a ton of money:I have about 7 industry certification and will tell you from firsthand experience that you are better off going through CBT Nuggets where it is a mix of instructor and demonstration (rather than presentation) and using the labs they recommend or Boson labs.

I was under the impression that I would be in a real classroom with other students studying the same subject, and that the professor would be there on a real whiteboard interacting with his class. As far as I can tell this location is only for virtual training with maybe a real classroom or two to boot. If this had been made clear to me from the start, it would of saved me over a 50 mile round-trip drive!

This site is for remote online classes only. This was not clear to me prior to signing up. Facility is okay, but youre in essentially a computer lab with other people also taking online courses.
