I have 2 kids that attend here . We love it. It’s academically challenging and that is why I chose this school to begin with . I think it sets the right tone for your kids. As a parent you will need to help your kids with assignments and homework. I love their uniforms . They are so cute. They can be expensive but they are made well. You can always buy the clothing else where . And placed the patches you can purchase from their school. Communication can be hard at times but the A.P. Is very responsive and resolves any concerns You may have quickly. Both of my kids have and have had wonderful teachers . Year after year. I’ll continue to enroll them each year.

This is a charter school where kiddos learn the curriculum in 3 languages Spanish English and Chinese. I love this kind of school because I studied in one of them and the more language you study the more chances you will have when you grow up.

Personally this school is horrible,I have been going to this school since I was in 4th grade I’m in 8th now.The kids bathroom is horrifically disgusting lunch is horrible. They dress code you for no reason .They have been using people for their money they make you pay for your own clothes it’s so bad of a school.

Ok, I am a fellow student of this school who goes here so I can tell you everything about this school. i will give you the pros and cons of this school, I will not be Bias and just hate on the school:Pros:1. The school is pretty good at teaching kids all 3 languages, it may look bad from other peoples view, it is just that some of the kids in my class do not care for those languages that we are learning but I find it fun!2. You have a wide variety of clubs to join, such as flag football, volleyball, basketball and etc. In my opinion I like all of them, I think they are great programs and should be worth giving a try at.3. They have been a little better at sending emails to parents that are very important to help their child get better at the subjects their struggling with. Before this 2020-21 school year, they always sent emails late or last minute but this year they have been improving so that is a thumbs up!Cons:1. The food is terrible, it is $2.50 a plate, and it is not all that, they say it is filled with all the vitamins, that children need is a lie. Also sometimes the milk they serve is already expired which is not good for kids.2. The bathrooms are very dirty, they only clean the bathrooms once a month, and they put in one roll of paper towels once a YEAR. But if you go into the teachers bathroom, they are constantly stocked with paper towels.3. The uniforms are not good, and they are super strict about dress code, if you have a jacket that does not have the ILTexas logo they will confiscate it, and make you pay a fee just to get it back. Which in my opinion is INSANE!4. You do not start learning spanish until you get to 6th grade! I have been to the school for 5 years already, and I never learned any spanish at that school until i got to 6th grade! Which is not good, and they immediately put me in a intermid class even though I knew next to nothing spanish.5. Lastly, They always want money whether it is from funD ( fund) friday where you can pay $3 just ot wear free dress which even then has rules on what you can and cannot wear. To Lunch, where if you pay extra you can get some more food, from the cafe.That is what ILTexas westpark is like, from what I know so far.

I personally do not like this school not even because theyre too strict but because literally every reason why! They are too strict about dress code. Their work is too sleazy and sloppy especially during the mornings. They also ask for a lot of money for things that should really be free like the infamous fund day friday ,the halloween costume fund, etc. Also during this year in particular I could see that their own staff doesnt like it here. 0/10 wouldnt sign my child up to go here

Middle school is bad, my first day here was already bad because it took hours for me to have a class, chromebooks are laggy, and my camera is really bad too, i get in trouble because my camera keeps making my room look dark and it is honestly tiring, there isnt much to stop bullying and the others before self motto is kinda false since alot of the time we cant help people (im not talking about work/tests) it is cool that they teach you 3 languages

The thing is, The chromebooks and the schedules are the problem. In middle school, they make you wake up just to go to gym, and it hurts. it makes me want to vomit sometimes.The chromebook? The Chromebook? Its not good. Its so laggy with a bunch of extensions. put the wrong things together (zoom, classlink, etc.) & what happens? BAD THINGS. you might be saying, well cant i delete the extensions? No, & im pretty sure if you reset settings it wont work, and/or you will get in trouble. So, If you see someone saying, Well limit your extensions, just know you cant. Even if you do something special, theyll just pop up after 3 seconds. so you have to bear the lag all around.Other than that its an ok school.

This school is so bad. Dont go there. The teachers are so rude, and when you get bullied the teacher does nothing about it. And the lunch is HORRIBLE its trash and taste like rat meat. PARENTS PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR KIDS TO THAT SCHOOL!

I took my child out of this school. I think they have potential to be a great school. I like that the students are taught 3 languages, I like the uniforms and everything they are trying to accomplish. HOWEVER, I believe they simply lack the resources to be successful. The teachers seemed overwhelmed and I dont think they get the help they need from the staff. I know the few times I was there, even cutting paper or putting together books for them was greatly appreciated. I guess maybe a teachers assistant should be provided. I have seen some teachers being very rude and mean to the kids and I wonder if its because theyre overwhelmed or under educated? Also, it seems like the art department or other depts arent being funded enough because they often ask for supplies or donations. If your child has some type of attention disorder, this school is not a good school for them to be in. On top of that there were several instances that convinced me that the school does not pay attention to detail. My nephew who also went here had broken his collarbone during recess. He complained and complained about pain yet was sent back to class and the parents were never notified of the incident. Another time, I received a call that my child was not supposed to be at school due to fever and vomiting from the previous day yet my child was fine. I got out of work to go get my child only to find out they had the wrong kid. How do you have the wrong kid when its about medical reasons? Are you telling me the nurse did not pay attention to who he/she was assessing?? That alone spoke volumes! I cant speak for other campuses only this one. Maybe one day they will be a great school but as of now, I am not convinced.

The school is personally bad when you go the lunch and you pass by the kids restroom it’s smells so bad that you’ll faint,the lunches are absolutely gross,some teachers give random referrals just for doing other teachers assignments,please if you love your child DONT go here.

My girl is happy in this school but they should give more training with the staff in the parking lot. They are people even rude. they want to humiliate him and I hope that with what happened they will not hold her against my daughter wait so long and that only because of the whim of the staff they were waiting so long. I thought that the comments they gave from the staff was a lie but with what we go through today I already believe everything bad that they say hurts. They need training to be their job well if they like to work with children😠😠😠😠

Excellent quality education. Teachers really well prepared and well presented. The building of course is far from completely finished but still looks beautiful on the outside. The classrooms have everything our kids need to encourage learning, very well equipped. A few details in fixtures around the building but nothing out of the ordinary considering they still havent complete 100 % of the construction work. Give them a few weeks and this will be the school with the best installations and academic personal within many miles around here.

I got my middle schooler to campus 8:00 a.m., as I had some car trouble earlier that morning, so we arrived 15 minutes late (7:45 a.m. is the start time for middle schoolers).I called the front office to explain and confirm first period attendance would be marked tardy not absent. Im told middle schoolers are marked absent when tardy. Front office confirmed my child signed in at 8:03 a.m. and was in first period, yetstill would be marked absent for being late. I didnt like that.TRANSPORTATION:I drove and picked up my student daily as a school bus didnt run where I lived, a roughly 15 to 20 minute drive from the school. Driveline moves smoothly, just make sure to always have your students custom driveline pass (driveline information cardboard) always in the car. School gives you two at the beginning of the year. I suggest laminating them. Dont lose it, theres a fee to replace if lost.LUNCH:As for school lunch, cafeteria food is $3.50 a day.Last semester the school nutritionist phoned out of the blue and advised to apply online to receive a lunch stippen/or reduced lunch price and emailed me a link, so I went ahead and applied online but got no response. It appears the school doesnt get much dietary aid funding.UNIFORM & FREE DRESS DAY:I really liked the school uniform. Decent quality, Made in Vietnam. My student loved the windbreaker jacket and wore it everywhere. Free dress day is $3.00.

My child enjoys being a student at IL Texas WP, going on our 3rd year we have experienced all the growing pains of our school. I will not give up and will continue to encourage her to do her best where she is, and do what is right. Yes, we have experienced some down falls, but nothing out of the ordinary that would not come up at other schools. The achievements surpass the problems. What helps is that I have been at our school and been involved since day one. My involvement in my childs school life, is essential to success. VOLUNTEERING and being involved is the key. I do not leave it all up to the teachers. The teachers know me because they see me regularly. This has helped to create a collaborative, productive learning environment for my child, and have been able to address any issues immediately at ILTx WP. The current principal has a parent/student open door policy. I do highly recommend IL TX WP. My child is mastering Chinese, Spanish and some French, has done several community service projects, and has been involved in the extra curricular activities available at our school. The breakfast and lunch is better, uniforms swap event and garage sale at school has saved on the cost of uniforms, driveline has improved. All around our school is awesome and encourage parents to get involved to make a difference in their childrens school life, where they spend most of the day.IL TX WP IS A GREAT SCHOOL!!!GET INVOLVED.

This is the most unorganized school I have ever had to deal with. This school does not deserve one star. I have been inconvenienced since day one. If you dont want to have to deal with stress and unorganized people dont enroll your Child in this school. There is this lady there no sure if she is the assistant principle or who she is but she has a nasty attitude. I will not be surprised if she find her self picking up her teeth one day. I have seen her being rude too many times. I am so ready for this school year to end.

Take it from me this school i fool of potential but the only thing is that who puts cameras in the hallway and gym and cafeteria but not in the classroom and if they still something no one will be able to find it. FOR EXAMPLE:my teacher had 29 headphone for our class to use at the end of our class he recounted it it and there were only 28 there so he ask us questions and checked everybodys backpack but no one had it so he told them if they saw it they should bring it to him. BUT IT WAS NEVER FOUND.

Impressive that it offers Spanish & Chinese everyday. Offers English 1 and Algebra to 8th Graders as well. Good students. :)

As an educator myself (not at ILTexas), the school provides more opportunity for my children. Im impressed with the commitment of individual teachers and staff. Im also frustrated by the uniform policy which does not reflect research or reason. The standards do not reference reason. That being said, overall the school has been a positive change for our family.

Very disorganized and some of the staff members are rude. I understand we started late been there about a month now but Im still having trouble with uniform. I checked on line it was something and than got their newsletter which says something else. Today sat in line for my second daughter forever. if they punch in the numbers at the same time for siblings they should come out together. Not 20 minutes apart .

My child has learned and benefited from relationships across cultural, socio-economic, religious and racial lines. The Principal Dr. Butler is the most hands on principal I have ever seen. He always interacts with the kids and parents. He treats all of them with love but firmness. His presences is second to none. He is always positive we’ll dressed role model. He has truly created a second to none experience for my child. I am so glad my child is at WestPark. A+ campus.

This is the schools first year in operation and they are very disorganized. The school was completed on time, which I could over look if they communicated effectively. The phones arent answered but the receptionist will call from a blocked number to communicate a dress code violation. The teachers, beside the coaches, will not return emails or calls.The want to send everything electronically like email or FB, which is great for monthly news letters but more important announcements should come with a flier or some type of automated call. The attitude of the principal is poor so the staffs actions reflect it. My child will not be attending next year defiantly and may withdrawn her after the first semester.

I understand in the beginning it was very hectic because the school wasnt complete. But to be quite frank, this school is available for the middle/lower class for free!!! A+ charter school with great etiquette. If these other parents complaining dont like this school, there are many parents who would be greatful and beyond to have their own children here. No complaints, just completely grateful for ILTexas.

Excellent curriculum, teachers have been quick to respond to emails, and use Class Dojo. Tri-lingual program has been very engaging for our child. P.E. 5 days a week keeps them active and engaged! Looking forward to the music program older students participate in. Ive also heard a little bit about some computer curriculum for the older students were looking forward to our child learning as well!

This school needs a lot of help. It looks nice from the outside but this school is very unorganized. The school lunch is horrible. My kids would complain everyday about the food being cold and frozen at times and it was very expensive. They have a full kitchen and dont bother to cook a fresh meal for their students. I regret enrolling my kids into this school.

My son has been going to this school for 2 years. He is having issues it seems all the time with his teachers and students. Either he is talking too much or being disruptive. I must say he is garrulous, but when I respond to the teachers emails I do not get a response. They constantly call or email about misbehavior, but never about good marks so one sided.The drive line is always messed up and cumbersome to maneuver....with the constant changes and orange cone barricades, the incompetent staff. btw my son one day did not have money on his lunch account because of a lack of communication, the school chose not to feed him a complete meal. FBISD would never do that. ILT should be called Idiotic Losers of Texas. How did this school even get this far.

This is the most disorginzed school that a child could ever go to. DONT BE FOOLED by the uniforms and what they tell you, take it from me. Its been many times where incidents happend and the didnt even call home, to where if a child is talking in class they call every chance they get. I understand that this is a charter school BUT why pay for a childs education when education schould be free for all. What i meab by the previous sentence is that you dont have to actually pay for theie education but the uniforms are ridiculously exspensive. Your spending almost $300 to $500 on unifoms. The teachers on the other hand are unexseptable, they argue with the students while some teachers were very respectful. In addition to that nobody never called back when meetings were called in dealings with parents. This is a bad learnig exsperience and i believe the highschool will be the same. Highschool is a place where you can learn AND grow as you. This is the school where the kids do drugs and the police use dogs to search for these drugs. Not good place to learn about anything except how to be a drug user / pusher gang banger

This school is the worst ever I have the worst experience with my kids her I have had more issues her than when my kids were in public school when this year ends I will be taking my kids out I dont recommend this school to no one especially for the 3rd grade AP he had the adasity to tell me him self that the PE teachers dont do a good job on watching the kids I have one time a little girl cracked me sons tooth not one but three and nothing happened they didnt nothing about it I had a boy twist my sons arm I had a kid kick my son in the face and my daoughter had gotten punched in the face and they do nothing really nothing I regret putting my kids in this school the AP is the worest its the teachers not watching the kids I had my son tell my that the kids dont care they dont even lesson to the teachers do not take your chances people plzzzz

The food is garbage. Kids struggle at the pickup time (all the kids). And for some reason he wants a different school.

This stupid school needs to come up with a better way for student pick up because they plug up Bellaire all the way up past Winkleman...

My daughter is the only Hispanic girl in the class, theres no diversity, the food is garbage, my daughter sends me pictures and it looks like they dont even microwave these $1 lunches... I thought it would live up to their name but its just a low budget school... I feel bad for the kids who have to eat here, the food looks worst than the $1 frozen meals you wouldnt even buy at the store.... Very disappointed, this is the first and last year... One other issue I noticed was the grades, in the previous school my daughter got Cs in science and math, and the rest Bs, at this school she came home with ALL As!!!! That really got my attention, either the material is way easier than Youens(which has very bad ratings) or theyre bumping grades for funding. Either way its bad.

I am happy to have found this school, I came to it on the recommendation of someone who has their children here and since I asked for information they have been so kind and by guiding me throughout the selection process, they have kept me informed all the time.And now that my baby is in class, I love the close communication that the teacher, the principal and the mayor have with the parents of friends.I love the concepts of discipline, responsibility and respect that they instill, the uniforms are so beautiful I loved it and the quality of the place recommended by the school is unmatched by any uniform store, although of course you are free to buy them where it best fits your budget ,, If you think that your children will be making a mess for any excuse and you will support these situations, this school is definitely not for you.I would only recommend a better organization at check-out time because if it makes a mess.My daughter is super happy with her new school and meeting new friends.100% RECOMMENDED 😁
