Great place to learn martial arts. They teach goju-ryu style of karate, coupled with grappling which consists of judo and jujitsu. The palace also has a complete gym setup for strength training.

Having trained at Samurai Karate Dojo, I recommend the style of Karate, the staff, the facility - across the board, theyre excellent. As a student, you participate in the class at your level of fitness and you build from there. What you learn is practical; its all meant to be used if needed. So you learn self-defense and have the added benefit of getting into good physical condition. Ive watched the staff work with kids in the after-school and summer programs, and theyre really good. Thats why youll see entire families in the classes and programs at Samurai Karate Dojo - you should give it a try for yourself!

My son has been participating in the after school program for over 2 years. My son gets picked up from school, help doing his homework, and also participates in Karate class. I have yet to find a better after school program than this one.The staff is also very wonderful and great with the children. You come away with a very family oriented feeling. Sheehan is also great at putting together activities outside of the Dojo that the children love and enjoy.

Best kept secret (shouldnt be a secret) in HISD/Alief. Both of my daughters go here and love it. I have been beyond impressed with the family orientation of the teachers and staff, the support to after school studying, as well as the character development with Karate.We initially thought of the program as primarily after school care with just a touch of karate to differentiate from other programs, but have come to see that the Karate is excellent on its own with adult and childrens programs.They also have an excellent out door play area with a mini-soccer field. Its unfortunate that kids dont get enough outside time in the schools now days, but Samurai is part of the solution with a great mix of study, Karate, and supervised outdoor free play.Thank you for all you do!

My son always had trouble in school and felt like he was a bad kid even though he was doing his best. The instructors at Samurai Martial Sports made my son feel like a special person. Being in this program was the best thing that ever happened to him. We now live in Austin and have yet to find a program that can even compete with the quality and caring that we received from Samurai Martial Sports. We miss them all greatly and go visit every chance we get.

I have been training here for over a year and enjoy every minute of it. The quality of teaching is on another level.Head Trainer (Shihan) - Ehab focuses on his students goals and needs. He pays attention to technical details and offers multiple solutions to every question. He has great energy and revives everyone after a long day in the office.Growth-Mentally, I have improved my focus, muscle memory, and reaction time.Im physically faster, stronger, and more accurate in striking and grappling.Students - There are always a couple of black belts in every class so I am constantly surrounded by years of experience and skill.Other- They seem to have an excellent after school program for kids. They pick up from schools, tutor students, and teach them discipline through Karate. I wish I did something like this when I was younger.If you are looking to get into Martial Arts, I would highly recommend Houston Samurai Karate! Classes are fun, educational, and teach you proper self-defense technique in a short period of time.
