I am a licensed professional engineer in mechanical engineering in Texas. Due to the recent down turn in oil and gas business, I was thinking about changing my career and found Builders Academy by luck. It turns out to be such a great decision. Bryon is awesome teacher, master inspector and talk show host. He is experienced and knowledgeable, and developed a thorough and easy-to-follow building and inspection training program difficult to find anywhere else. I would recommend Bryon and Builders Academy to anybody who is interested in building a quality house himself or going for a new career in house building / home / commercial inspection business.Byron is a fun, fair and honest person. Even with a successful career in building and inspection, he never give up learning. About a half year ago he learnt how to fly the drone and take photos for inspection purposes. I have to say that I learnt a lot from him.

I completed the Builder Boardroom 50 Hour Advanced Course to help with understanding the basics of foundations, roofing, framing, and masonry as a property manager, and this course far exceeded my expectations!I expected it to be over-simplified, but its not at all. Pro-Builder – Pre-Inspector graduate. Outstanding program. Although construction experience would have been helpful, it was not required. And I had no prior construction experience. Bryan’s course challenges you to learn all the fundamentals needed to be either your own building contractor and/or building inspector. Six month program and now I’m starting out in a new field that appears to be both enjoyable and financially rewarding. Thanks Bryan, wish I would have started your course sooner. At 61, I should have been thinking about retirement, but decided on a new career instead. Best decision I could have made. For everyone else, if you’re on the fence with taking one of Bryan’s building courses; don’t waste more time on the fence than I did. You won’t regret it.

They know who are the good local sub-contractors and have trained many of them to their high standards.They were tolerant of my painful, self-inflicted mistakes especially when my sub-contractor picks went bad (often) and helped me to get back on track many times in building my own home. I called this company and left a message to get information about taking classes due to I was unsure which course was sufficient after reviewing the website. Im in the business and wanted some additional training to become more knowledgeable to be able to better assist my clients. I received a return call from the Office Manager Tom who was very rude when he called back. When I asked him questions about the courses, he told me its on the website and Ill need to just search. The courses and prices he advised me about when I followed his instructions to find where not as he described. When I asked him about this, he was very rude, advising he hadnt reviewed the website so I would need to continue to look. He offered no assistance, seemed very rushed to get off the phone, and when I mentioned his behavior, he said Oh well....OH WELL..when Im about to spend thousands of dollars with your company????? Very Very Very unprofessional!!!!! Needless to say, Ill enroll and support a different business other than this one!

My instructor for MAC class, Bryon, was really helpful. I learned a lot in his class. He also provided us materials that are very useful once youre already in the field. In addition, he was very nice and made sure that we were fed for breakfast. In general, all the staff at Builders Academy were really accomodating.
