What a wonderful experience! The campus is the ideal place to take a stroll along the trees and appreciate the architecture. The arches were among my favorite! The university has a lot of places to explore like the Chapel, the library, the gardens and the many sitting areas to just enjoy the view! I Highly recommend it whether you are a local or someone visiting Houston!

A beautiful campus and gorgeous gardens. The old trees have a calming effect during a walk. You would never know there is a busy city right outside the hedges. In the middle of the medical center but contained within its own perimeters. Parking in lots is $1.00 per minute but no more than $12.00 per day for visitors (03/18/21) Beautiful architecture on the original structures.

Graduated from here years ago and the university says I owe them 5000+ for some strange reason - a personal loan directly from them which I never took out. They keep reporting this to the credit agencies and have literally ruined my credit over this for years. Terribly tragic way to handle your alumnus considering the amount of tuition they paid and relative worthlessness of a degree from your institution, Rice.

Corrupt University. We just had to pay $10.00 for 1 hour of parking, so we could study. You see these buildings they are building for performing arts. Question, how much of a return do you get from a performing arts degree? Does it help starving kids around the world? As you can see from a great documentary “Inside Job”, Matt Damon narrates the truth on our corrupt economy and how the education system takes advantage of kids and families by charging $100,000’s for a degree. Now you have to have a Masters Degree?Another $150,000???Guess what, my 2 brothers, my DAD and I have no degree and we all make six figuresalaries.Don’t waste your money on an over paid education when you can get the same education with some late fees at the local library(Good Will Hunting). I promise you will get a great job, if you have the knowledge and experience.Good luck 🍀 everyone and don’t let Rice, Harvard, or any University put you in debt for the rest of your lives, so the professors and live off you tuition.

Earlier this year, I went on a campus tour with my daughter, who is looking at enrolling at a university next school year. Although Im a University of Texas at Austin Alumni and have been trying to get my daughter to consider UT, I was impressed with Rice University, and the campus. Students at Rice seem to get a more individualized education, given the resources and small class sizes. Only drawback is that it does not offer some majors, but this one of the best universities in Texas.

Make no mistake, no university is perfect for everyone. Rice University is no exception. But the university was about as close to perfect for my needs.I felt like a piece of the pie at this place, with faculty and students that knew who I was and had my back and supported me. There were also tons of things to do. One thing that makes it unique is its residential system, which Im sure youve heard of by now. There are also some good academic programs and lots of career and summer internship opportunities for both engineers and non-engineers.I think that there is definitely an audience for which Rice appeals. If you are excited to take advantage of the talking points about Rice (and especially the residential system), then you will probably do well and have a memorable experience. If you fight against them, you probably will have a miserable time.

Neat place with open and somewhat noble atmosphere. The first fun thing is that on one of the aisle around it there planted some vege as tomatoes and pepper. The study room and canteen is also clean and tidy. A entertaining newspaper of rice is run by students since around 1916.I like the buildings as they are designed to be mostly connected by pathway with roof. Thus my shoes are not going to wet during rainy days (I need to find the shoes that are both air pemeating and water proof ).

Incredible university in the middle of Houston--always a plus. Was here for a summer institute. The cafeterias--if that was their regular menu-are tasty, and grounds here are small but beautiful. The dorm I stayed in was increadibly tiny--felt much more like a cell--and the bathroom layout is based on dorms sharing the available bathrooms within a spiral or cicular setup--as opposed to bathroom at the end of the hall. A little confusing, at first.

I like fat pigs. Rice gave me that. It has an after class pig club where we meet nomadic pastoralists and their herds. Many of these include all kinds of fat pigs such as the pigeon, the pink pig, the fat pig and the mighty rice pig. Even though the human anatomy seemed to lack pig criteria as well as epicenter location skills, it is overall my favorite class as there is a pig on the cover, however I feel like it is false advertising as and I repeat and stress that there is NO PIG CRITERIA IN THE CLASS ITSELF. To conclude I would recommend Rice University to everyone unless you are looking to be a pig expert.
