Used to be a below average university but since last 10 years due to recent additions of new facility and improved staff this it’s becoming a top tier university. However it’s also becoming a liability for the students. New management keep focusing on revenue generation rather than better and bigger facility. If this phenomenon continues as it has, I feel UH will lose their ability to become a top tier university. One thing they could focus on is high achieving students, rather than trying to add funds to a better stadium. I’ve been on the campus, and truthfully for how much tuition+parking and other fees costs, it is subpar. The buildings are dated, the greenery is dead and patches of dirt, and lastly the amenities given to students aren’t nearly enough for a campus that hosts 50,000+ students. Overall, I can see the progression UH has made in the last 10 years and I hope to see it become even better in the years coming forward.

I studied my PhD there for five years. The university changed a lot during those years and it is still improving. The new buildings are so great and the campus is more beautiful now. A great thing about the campus is the number of restaurants and on campus activities. The campus is not definitely among the top ones in US but I still liked it.

Even though political science doesnt translate well online, I really think its the structure of the lesson plans. There are simpler ways to construct a class online that engages the student. Also the professors use all sorts of platforms to hold class and thats just a lack of consistency and ease of use navigating the site

I mean, reviewing your college is weird, but Im a bachelors graduate of U of H. I think in Texas, and, of course, in the Houston metroplex, there is hardly a better value education. Is it perfect? No, but it allows you to grow in experiencing people of all different backgrounds and cultures (teachers included) and, whether or not your major is the most applicable to your desired career path, you will likely value the time spent here.

The University of Houston (UH) is a state research university and the flagship institution of the University of Houston System. Founded in 1927, UH is the third-largestuniversity in Texas with nearly 44,000 students. Its campus spans 667 acres in southeast Houston, and was known as University of Houston–University Park from 1983 to 1991. The Carnegie Foundation classifies UH as a doctoral degree-granting institution with highest research activity. The U.S. News & World Reportranks the university No. 171 in its National University Rankings, and No. 91 among top public universities.

UHs diversity is beautiful. Youll probably hear at least 3 different languages being spoken at once. Their security team does an excellent job at assuring the students safety at ALL TIMES. Theyre not concerned about catching the students doing something they shouldnt be as long as they dont see it, they dont bother you. Theyre more concerned with non-students who roam campus for no particular good reason. They also take sexual assault situations very seriously.I remember walking into Cougar Village, and being cat called by a student, the security officer immediately approached me to offer help, and even assured me he could aid me in pressing charges. They want to make sure the students are content, and feel comfortable on campus. The people are kind and will spark a conversation with you randomly, super friendly, happy staff.UH Football games are fun to say the least.Thank you UH for an amazing college experience.

The dorm was immaculate, people were cleaning the mud from streets after a bad rain. More road work is being done. Hopefully that will help with more students on campus and the new medical school class. Students were wearing their masks. They have these cool devices on the bottom of the inside of the bathroom doors where you can use your foot to pull open the doors. I was impressed. University of Houston is also very green in many aspects of their buildings from the use of space to the use of large windows and the lighting thats movement sensitive. Custodians are cleaning all day long. Thanks to the leadership, the custodial, cafeteria, dorm, administrative, academic staff and the student leadership teams for continuing to serve the awesome students in attendance at University of Houston. An working on Worship & Gospel & Plus working On Celtic Irish Music of the Blaggards. But of course work on almost all desires of my Music Choices. Especially Praise & Worship to be a Worship Leader one day for My greatest Dream ever in Jesus Name. I hope I can have someone reach out to me. The Campus was also so Huge. I couldnt fully keep up. They had to wait for me at times. The guides were so awesome, from the time when I was there.I hope I can Spend my life there and tons of tutoring and Brainstorming as well. God Bless all the Students and all of the Staff. An one last thing. I havent worked since March. An I hope I can work there as well. UPDATE: this area has been cleaned up! Way to go!I love the school itself, I love the security on the school grounds, directing traffic and all. BUT.....if we want to be known for our beautiful and safe campus and encourage others to come to this university, something must be done about the homeless person(s) camping here. I see kids using their bikes down this street to get to school, and they have to pass through here. If this person needs help, then he/she should be taken to get help, but it is embarrassing. At the front entrance, you will see a homeless man with a sign, and he retreats to his camp. There is no way you cannot see it, and the funny thing is that a cop stops nearly everyday to stop speeding cars. Now, no, you should not be speeding, but this person is literally adding more and more stuff here when it is illegal! And in the mean time lots and lots of students are paying lots of money to stay in the dorms. They might as well just camp here too for free.

I transferred to UH after nearly 3 full years at a different university in Texas. When I went to orientation, I was told that it would take me 4 more years to graduate. No one seemed to care about my concerns. I had to file transfer credit petitions for classes I took that they didnt want to give me credit for. It took them 4 full months to reject both petitions. When I compared the syllabus from my old school to the syllabus here, it was nearly identical. They only want your money. They dont take care of and help their students. I was also forced to skip a semester from taking a certain class because of scheduling errors. I told my advisor and he pretty much said Thats too bad. They continue to delay my graduation in whatever way they can. Ive emailed my advisor many times and been ignored if he doesnt know the answer. The only good thing is this is a good school form the program I am in.

Sad to say that University of Houston has been a disappointment. Over the last 3 years the parking permit prices have increased outrageously. From $165 /year to $406/year and up. Mandatory fees are being added on to tuition, that is not even covered by Hazlewood...for student activities. I am a student and comes to class and leaves, I do not participate in any student activities because I am juggling a job as well. Why cant I be exempt. Textbooks are overpriced, and then rarely used in the classrooms. There is a lack of professors, especially good ones. I wouldnt mind paying as much money for these things if they were actually worth it, but most of the expenses seem pointless. Great job University of Houston for ripping off thousands of students. I really wish I had a better experience at this university.

For the most part, UH is nearly a top notch university. Like all other schools of its caliber, it offers much more than an education which is very appealing to incoming freshmen. However, if said students practice the dedication required for completion, the extras are little more than additional debt to us.Furthermore, the administration shows little concern for vistitors and students living off campus. Available parking is minimum and the cost is at premium. Any hope of attending class on days proceeding a home football game is lost for commuters.

So I called them and theyre claiming they did not have anything on file for me. So basically in a not shell I wasted a lot of money paying for my transcripts. It is it even worth it.
