It was my senior year , and I transfered schools, and I kept getting new teachers, meanwhile I was sick with Graves disease, and it made it extremely difficult to keep up. I got a new guidance counselor, new theatre teacher, new photography teacher, English teacher was gone for about 4 months, and I kept getting subs, all while I was sick and missed a lot of school. This school cant keep staff.

I am shaking while I type this. I have twins boys in kindergarten at Huntersville elementary. The first week on the bus was great with Ms. Pam. She is a mothers dream in our eyes. Putting the little kids up front and talking with the kids to ensure they are safe. One of my twins is autistic so she knew how to communicate even if there were no words. Then Pam had to go some other route. In the morning bus #1871 first time on our route she left 6 students behind, then on wed it was brought to our attention she makes little kids sit in back. But it was Thursday morning I smiled and said please make sure little ones our up front and maam my son her is having a rough morningl, he is autistic please make sure he is okay. When I went to pick the kids up after school a student came over and showed me video. It was my son Sy crying that morning hitting himself and this bus driver said and I quote Yo mama best teach you not to cry !! My son was hysterical and refuses to get near the bus. Which is bad bc I dont have a car. Not only is this driver uneducated with kids with special needs she is also a danger to all of our kids. If it was my way if ask her to pop off to someone her own size who doesnt have special needs. Instead there needs to be bus monitors as well as training on how to communicate with all walks of life. I hope you feel better bus driver in am off Statesville #1871 making him so upset . Now Im doing all I can to make you be held accountable for causing this.

I have spent four years here, and been in the IB program, then AP courses. Its not absolutely terrible, as schools go. People see the news (of course its reported about crap here, but not drug busts at Hough). The IB program causes quite a division between whos getting quality education and whos not, as the teachers who were good have mostly left. Got a new principal, Ms. McGinnis, who isnt anywhere near as horrible as the principal we had last year. (Oh, Sonic. She snipped peoples earbuds while they were still in. Im surprised she didnt get jumped. Glad shes at another school.)Enrichment is gone. I can count five teachers who Ive had who are still here, and two more who are good that arent leaving this year. New ones keep cycling in, and some are staying. Not enough, but some that are worth their time. The standard classes are not worth taking because usually the classes are too rowdy. Most classes are rowdy, honestly, but for the most part, the teachers here do genuinely care, and that makes a difference. Ditto for the guidance counselors. The security is postured as tight, but so long as youre not bothering anyone, they dont really care. Its only around exam times thatThe science programs here have gone downhill though. Math as well. So if you come here interested in these subjects, another school is probably better. They do have online classes here though, and the guidance counselors are good at getting student set up here.Theres an automobile , cosmotology, and culinary program here in addition to International Baccalaureate (IB.) Those three focus on giving people experience for having a career right after high school. Theyre all taught by excellent teachers, as far as I know.Theres also Sports Medicine class and weight lifting classes. The CTE classes are a joke, theyre like a free period but with a droning teacher and a bit of work.Theater is no longer a good program. Band has Herriman, who is a good teacher, but Orchestra and Guitar are taught by someone with a doctorate that knows her stuff, but not how to teach it.Art teachers here are very lax, and mainly its you get a prompt, do it, and dont disrupt other classes. Same for Creative Writing class. The campus is arranged more like a college campus than a high school, because its so old that building kept getting added as it expanded. So you have A-N hall (yeah. That many halls), plus the gym, plus the fields. So its a pretty wide campus, and its great sometimes for getting practice navigating buildings, but not so great when you have to get from E hall, next to the front office, to J hall, which is near the student parking lot.Running is not unusual when the minute bells rings.People here are accepting - religion, sexuality, gender, expression. Some may comment on it, but nobody will do anything. So while not the best for non-IB academics (they took out GPA requirements for AP classes, and think that 40 kids a class is fine for AP), itsVarious clubs as well, like a new GSA, rugby, some farmers for america thing, Speech and Debate (great program, but sucks up time), and probably like six others Ive forgotten.Im on the rugby team, and while its classified as a club, it is definitely treated as a sport, with their own hoodies and everything. While the football team sucks, the womens basketball is good, and theres also tennis, swimming, cross country, and track. So yeah. Established, old school with sometimes yellow water and sometimes the smell of weed in H hall, but the people arent terrible and lots of clubs and sports.

I hate it here , I just came here from mallard creek transferred my junior year and this school make me wish I could go back , The students in here are rude , The teachers complain about how bad the school is and how the students dont excel and talk down on them but do nothing to change it , the food is garbage the only thing good about this school is the library. I require any parents dont transfer your child here

All i got to say is that this is the worst school to go to because they will get kids in trouble for nothing . For an example i was walking my friend to class . There was this problem between 2 girls and i was caught in the middle of it even though i wasnt involved in it. Most kids will say that they didnt do anything and they will most likly be telling the truth . Even the good and quiet ones will get in trouble every now an then . Like me i am a good kid and on this very Monday 26,2015. the principle Mr. Robinson had stopped me and my friend because we were walking around the crowd that was having the problem. Then he said everyone that is in the crowd go to Iss. Iss is (in school suspension). he had everyone in the crowd in iss ALL DAY. I WAS IN THERE FOR NOTHING I DID NOTHING WRONG. If you try to tell them that you did nothing wrong they will be like no. Just no dont be mad at your kids if you know that they are the good ones and they get into trouble ,dont be mad at them because they might be in the wrong crowd at the wrong time.

Hopefully things have changed. When I went to this high school it was a virtual war zone. Teachers were there for a paycheck only.
