I discovered SeniorNet a few years ago through a program on how to use an iPad at my local public library. This amazing group of volunteers can talk computers and technology in ways that this middle-aged learner can understand. I have since attended quite a few of their webinars - the latest was on how to use the cloud - and have enjoyed the clarity of the presentations, the expertise of the instructors, and the encouraging atmosphere of the classes. They take the stress and confusion out of technology!

I have tried unsuccessfully to borrow library books on my Kindle. Sandie at Senior Net showed me how to do it quickly and easily. Both the classes and the private lessons at Senior Net are well presented and easy to understand. Thank you Senior Net.

Having recently retired I was looking for volunteer opportunities so I attended a seminar hosted by SeniorNet at my local library. I was very impressed so I enrolled in a class at their learning center. The instructor was very knowledgeable. The course included a great deal of hands-on exercises with coaches available to help when students got stuck. This is a very effective way of teaching. I ended up becoming a volunteer and I recommend SeniorNet without reservation.

I have been a volunteer at SeniorNet for over 11 years. We are Seniors Helping Seniors. I enjoy working with our senior students, helping and guiding them to make sense of the world of technology. We have many volunteer opportunities and our volunteers come from many different fields. I enjoy working side-by-side with them to help others. We currently are providing support to the community helping them to stay connected during the Panademic.

Ive been a volunteer at SeniorNet (an all volunteer program of Family Services League) for over 10 years. We offer many technological courses to seniors on Long Island. What has impressed me most by our association is the quality, caring and depth of knowledge and talent of the many people who work on our various programs. If youre looking to expand your computer knowledge, either at instructional or advanced levels, you should give SeniorNet a try.

I have been a volunteer at SeniorNet for a little over two years. During that time, I have seen first hand the skill and dedication of the volunteers. Everyone works very hard to help the seniors that join our classes master the tasks they need to become more technologically proficient. It is a wonderful organization and one Im proud to be a part of.

SeniorNet is a global, not-for-profit, volunteer teaching organization focused on computer and technology classes for adults aged 50+. We provide affordable training over a wide range of topics for our students seeking to learn to use modern computing devices and to access the internet. We are also volunteers, mostly retired from working, who do this for the pleasure of helping others and of giving back to the community. I am one such retired volunteer and thoroughly enjoy teaching computer skills to Seniors, especially in this welcoming environment. The wonderful feedback we get from our students makes this so worthwhile.I encourage others looking for a new volunteer opportunity to see what’s available as many positions do not require technical experience.
