Janna is an amazing coach and her knowledge of Judo is amazing. Not only that Janna is such an amazing role model and she helps her students to not be great athletes, but to be amazing people to help others in society. I started training Judo with Janna in 2017 and after that I fell in love with the sport. I always had fun learning and not only that Janna helped me to improve and install great values into my life that has helped me till today. Even though I left the area and move back home. Janna always takes her time to contact me to see how I am doing and is always one of the first people to congratulate me on my accomplishments with my career and education. She also takes her time to go over my judo and to help me improve. Due to her help I was able to go on the podium at my BJJ tournaments and that is to her help with my standup. Janna does more than a coach/instructor she goes out and beyond to help those to have a better quality of life.I recommend anyone to try her class and to be involved. In the area of SE Idaho Janna is the best instructor! Whenever I am in the area this is the first place that I will visit.

My oldest son and I have trained at Blue Line Judo for over three years and my youngest son is just getting started. One reason that we have stayed with Blue Line over this time is the contagious nature of Coach Jannas love of Judo, but there are several other reasons. At Blue Line, you can expect a coach that will take a focused interest in your development as a judo athlete, teammate, and competitor. She will take the time and effort to find your strengths and develop your Judo game accordingly. The atmosphere that she cultures at Blue Line is one of hard work and hard play. This can be seen in the performance of her competition team. Her athletes carry themselves with composure, perform well, and display respect to teammates and opponents alike, all while having a good time. Finally, Coach Janna herself has competed at a high level in not just Judo, but also Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Sumo Wrestling, and she has several team members that have participated in various martial arts and combat sports. Blue Line loves Judo, but also has respect and appreciation for other activities. For example, Coach Janna loves seeing clips of my oldest son using Judo throws successfully in his wrestling matches, and even enjoys giving him Judo tips to specifically help his wrestling. If youre looking for a good workout, well rounded grappling skills, and an invested coach, I recommend you check out Blue Line Judo.

I hav been at Blue Line Judo for almost four years. As a female athlete, Coach Janna is not only a fantastic coach, but an amazing role model. She treats you like family and I feel appreciated here. She will find your strong points and make them stronger, and find your weak points and strengthen them. We do fun activities like JudoFit, which helps you learn the movements in a routine created by coach herself. This place is amazing! I fell in love with the sport at the first practice, coach is an amazing athlete. :)

Blue Line Judo is not real Judo.If you are inexperienced, prepare to learn nothing! If you are experienced, you will be terribly disappointed. Blue Line Judo doesn’t represent Judo or the Japanese culture it is rooted in, nor the respect and humility one must don to appreciate the art.BLJ does not teach proper names of techniques, and they only teach modifications, so there is nothing that you can take to any other dojo. You won’t learn proper falls to prevent injuries, and only ever do anything on the crash mats. Before even learning a technique, you will be expected to throw your partner on the crash mat in sloppy practice until you get it right. If you are driving from five or more minutes away, I assure you it is not worth your time. Janna does not have a plan for the class and just comes up with things to do on the spot, resulting in a lot of wasted time or boring, useless things like the Zumba of Judo, “JudoFit”.The coach bashes classical Judo every chance she gets and makes fun of it by doing “Pit fighting” instead of Randori and fist bumps instead of bowing. She is a coach, not a sensei, and this is no dojo. Janna is also extremely demeaning and insulting to students, creating a hostile environment for many. She will often be caught staring at her phone instead of paying attention to the class. And although this is a female coach, she puts more time and effort into male students and has a strong and obvious preference for them. I unfortunately wasted a lot of time trying to become a better Judoka at this club, and so I warn anyone who has any respect for the sport to stay away.

My sons have been training at Blue Line Judo since it opened. In that time they have competed and medaled in dozens of tournaments, both regional and national. Coach Janna consistently demonstrates her ability to work with kids and help achieve their dreams. The benefits even outside of judo skills are obvious. Self-esteem, balance, poise, knowing how to work with your body, strength, endurance, and picking yourself back up... just to name a few. We see benefits from judo in every sport the boys are involved with (soccer, skiing, etc.). Since we began at Blue Line Judo I have developed an immense amount of trust for the entire team and feel like a member of a family. Good people doing good things for our youth and the spirit of competition.

My son has been with Blue Line Judo since May of 2016. Janna Van Witbeck is an amazing coach. She challenges her students but keeps it fun. Her students train hard. If you are looking to try a sport that pushes you, helps build confidence and sportsmanship, then this may be for you. We have never had to deal with classes being canceled. They have also been on Monday and Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 since we started three years ago. When my husband was doing judo and couldnt continue going, Janna was easy to work with to have the time that we paid for be transferred over to my son. Janna has also put in a ton of extra time to help her students prepare for upcoming tournaments by having Saturday practice. She wants her students to do their very best and it shows. I highly recommend Blue Line Judo to anyone that is willing to put in the time and energy. It is not easy, but if you want to be trained by the best in Idaho Falls, then come join Blue Line Judo.

The moment my oldest son stepped on the mat with Janna, he was hooked. Between communication, commitment and professional training Blue Line provides, weve never had a second thought where to train. The judo camp that Blue Line has is for focus but is so much fun, my son looks forward to it all summer. My kids have learned how to be teammates and more importantly how to respect and be exemplary sportsmen.

Stay away! Paid for 6 months worth of lessons. They cancelled half due to their own scheduling and tournaments they went to. We then had a new baby and were unable to attend classes. We asked for a refund for the cancelled classes. They referred us to the contract which didnt have anything in it which stated they didnt give refunds... Asked them again for a refund and was ignored. Dont pay more then one lesson at a time or you too might get scammed! YOUVE BEEN WARNED.

Garbage - instructor made their own kid cry in class pushing the child so hard. Also, dont pay in advance to save a buck. Theyll cancel classes and not give a refund too. Dishonest young business.
