This school had disorganization and communication issues during my time. But, the leader of the program contacted me personally seeking to learn and grow. With new leadership that has been in place I believe this program as the potential.

Beyond happy with my experience! In my time at Indianapolis Dental Assisting School I have found each of my instructors are not only communicative of course material, class structure and expectations, but they are also incredible at remaining personally available for the individual learning needs of the students. I would absolutely recommend this program to those interested in becoming a future dental assistant!

When I was in school, the instructors were amazing. I had to quit at the 4th week due to personal issues. In our contract, it says we are to get a refund. I have not heard from anyone about me not continuing the school, nor will anyone reply back to me when I bring up my refund. I am not that upset because it has only been 2 weeks almost 3 weeks. But it would be nice to know what is going on.

You get what you pay for! This course is somewhat cheap in comparison to other dental courses offered by other schools. It is definitely fast paced so be prepared to move along pretty quick and to teach yourself most of the material. This is mostly because of the teacher to student ratio and how fast the program goes. There is no communication between instructors of what was done in the classes prior, and they just keep moving on with the next subject whether you have learned or not. There is no outline of what chapters to read before class to better prepare for the lecture of the day/week. And honestly, they make you buy this book which really you dont need because all of the homework questions come from quizlet. The campus manager, Rana takes about 3 weeks to respond to the students emails and any questions about grades and or homework gets directed to student success aka Rana or the course bot chat. One of my class mates was almost not allowed to enter class due to not having the correct paperwork on file on class 10/12. Almost after the course was done for and the money payed for.Instructor Jenae was the best instructor and really explained everything thoroughly. She made class fun and enjoyable! In the other hand instructor Lindsey, would take off points for asking questions about subjects we had not learned yet and deemed it as we needed to pay more attention when in reality they needed better communication skills as to what they taught in each class prior (instructors alternate teaching class each week). The other instructors were decent. They constantly ask students to only give 5 star reviews so that people keep enrolling into their program. They usually ask during class 1 or 2 before it goes down hill and students start to complain.Overall the program gives you a quick rundown of what being a dental assistant is about, which gets the job done I guess. It is a semi cheap and fast paced course, but you get what you pay for.

Instructor Lindsey is very thorough and informative. The environment is fast paced, but they make sure you know the information before they move on to the next order of operations.

Do yourself a favor and go to a school where corporate actually cares about the well being of their students and not just money. They hire just anyone to teach the class as long as they’ve worked in the dental field without thoroughly screening them. I loved a few of my instructors but a few of them were extremely rude at times. The person you are supposed to reach out to for questions/student success during the duration of the program never responds in a timely manor or just doesn’t respond at all. Most unorganized class I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Communication is definitely lacking. They don’t prepare you for the radiology exam. They don’t cover the cost of your books. When you contact corporate they do the bare minimums for you. You pay nearly 4,000$ in tuition for a class where you are teaching yourself so much because everything is so unorganized. Let’s not forget to mention the fact that corporate just allows classes to be at full capacity with only two instructors which does not allow adequate education training for students because of the teacher to student ratio. We finally had a third instructor join but it wasn’t until week 5 I believe which by then it’s too late because we all are lacking knowledge we should have learned within those weeks. They email you a certificate of completion you don’t even get a hard copy anymore like they falsely advertise in the pictures on their website of their students. They give you cheap scrubs. They paint this program out to be something perfect when really it’s nothing like what they falsely advertise. Would not recommend to anyone.

I wrote a review under another email, but that was at week 2. This review is from week 10, so take this into account. This school is actually very awesome with certain instructors. Instructor jannea and jamica are the best. Instructor jannea is good at keep us upbeat and makes the 8hrs more fun. She is an awesome teacher too, she tells you if you’re wrong and then helps walk you through how to fix it. There are no dumb questions with her and she doesn’t take points off for little mistakes. Instructor jamica is the same with helping you learn why you were wrong and how to fix it. You might not have been taught something correct or forgot how to do it and ,to them, it’s not your fault and they don’t take points off. They will help refresh it in your mind and give you full credit. The other instructors are not the same. Instructor Lindsay takes many points off for asking a question or if you make a simply small mistake. And she tells you you are wrong and to redo it but doesn’t tell you how to fix it. Then she turns around and give you 10/20. We are also supposed to get out at 5:30 but she made us stay until 6, even though we had nothing left to do. And some people here have kids or have to go to work and they can’t stay that long.

The school is very unorganized and communication skills are not good. Several instructors were never on the same page with labs and rushed through the steps. There was a lot of talk about personal life that shouldn’t be discussed with students. The course was very unprofessional at times and didn’t take problems/concerns as serious as need be.

This is a very fast-paced program that will give you hands-on experience. The program is 12 weeks long and you get the basic rundown of what being a dental assistant is like and how to do the job. There are plenty of pros and cons about this program.Pros: 1) it is very affordable and will work with most schedules. Its only one day a week so if you need/want to work full time (like myself) it is very doable. 2) most of the instructors are super cool and you get along with them very easily (Im talking about you instructor jenae and instructor jimica you guys are dope). 3) you learn ~most~ of what you need to know for the job. They cover the basics so there are things that you will learn more about once you get a job or start your externship.Cons: 1) the instructor to student ratio is not good. My class had 13 students and two instructors, and I would have preferred at least one more instructor to help with labs. 2) be prepared to teach yourself. Lectures go by quick and for the labs they show you one time and then its up to you to get it right from there. Some instructors (not jenae or jimica) will kinda expect you to know how to do something before you learn how to do it. For example, we do digital charting of teeth and the procedures. You will do digital charting by yourself and once you are done you will be graded. But, you have not been shown how to do some things (like a bridge) and if you dont get it right a certain instructor will take points off since you didnt know how to do it. 3) the welcome email that they send out tells you to always arrive 15 minutes early but they never open the doors until 8am. 4) if you have any questions about grades or homework you HAVE to reach out to student success. If you ask your instructor they will direct you to student success. So now youre talking to someone who doesnt work with you directly about things so its not personable. 5) every single class they ask you to leave a review on google.Overall, this is not a bad program. I have learned so much and saved a lot of time and money going here instead of ivy tech or even iupui. They do have things they can improve on but I dont regret doing this program whatsoever, and I would recommend this place to other people!

My favorite part of Indianapolis Dental Assistant School is connecting with students. I have had the pleasure of meeting the most tenatious, inquisitive students in this program. Although the course work is very rigorous, it prepares our students for the dental office setting. We prepare them for a career in the Dental field in 12 weeks. I take pride being a part of a school that provides an accelerated program to students at an affordable rate. Our graduates are well prepared to join one of the fastest growing jobs in the industry! I HIGHLY recommend anyone that may be interested in starting a new career!

Being apart of IDAS has been one of the best experiences of my career thus far. From connecting with these students on a professional level to helping them outside of school once they have graduated and become actual Dental Assistants. It has been a true pleasure working with the other three instructors as well Rana, Lindsey, and Jenae. We also have a wonderful home office team in Texas that are always there when we need assistance as instructors or even the students. I am very proud to let everyone know about our school and what we have to offer and very honored to have these three ladies by my side to help bring these wonderful new Dental Assistants to the dental field in the Indiana area. :)

I am very grateful for the opportunities that the school gave me and it definitely gave me a very very good start on my career life. I highly recommend if you are trying to get a good start on your career and want to graduate with no debt. The tuition is worth it, although there have been downs as there is with many things. My class was a class of about 22 which I did not mind because I do not mind my peers..Although, it is a very small working and learning area for that many students and it was stressful at times. Many of my peers and I found that we didnt know certain things because we did not get quite enough one on one time with the instructors. We also had only two instructors and most of the time there was only one who could teach us. The instructors at times could be pretty rude.. I am not sure that they realized it but it definitely happened and not only to me. That was really the only down side was the huge class and the instructors at times...

The class instructors are amazing and easy to connect with and overall just made class a much better experience!Week one was super overwhelming because we were given so much information; however, we also gained a lot of hands on experience from the beginning as well, which continued throughout. After week six, students begin the 40 hour externship and thats where everything we had been learning in class really came together and made sense. I attended IDAS back in February and graduated in April. I knew absolutely nothing when I started.. in just 12 weeks I knew SO much. It wasnt easy at the beginning. It was a lot because of how rushed the course is. But as time went on and I kept trying and not giving up, I succeeded. I passed all my tests and passed the final with a breeze. I was hired by my externship doctor and also did an internship for Ortho during the summer. The opportunities I have had since graduated have been insane! I wanted to give up so bad but I kept going and the instructors really helped me through every step. Kaneshia was my GIRRRRL! lol she helped me through so much inside and outside of school. IDAS is a good school. I give a 4 because there is always room for improvement. I went into the program not knowing one thing about a tooth other than how to brush, floss, etc... pretty much the basics of cleaning your mouth. The instructors are nice and i appreciated the constructive criticism theyd give me when needed. I drove up every saturday from Rosedale, IN which is a two hour drive. Had the instructors not been pleasant enough to be around I personally wouldnt have been that committed to drive 4 hours total every saturday for 12 weeks nor pay to go to class i didnt like. My favorite instructors of them all were Janae and Kaneesha. They both were only here a few times but they made every class amazing. Rana the lead instructor was amazing she cared alot about her students in the class. Last But Not least Ms. Lindsay.. she too is an instructor here and wed bump heads alot but, i honestly have a lot of respect for the woman. Shes good at what she does and she is very specific with those steps and details for the procedures!.... so if you plan on enrolling just know she doesnt allow slacking. She kinda reminded me of Ms.Trenchbal 😂💀 but I am very greatful to have had her because she pushed me to a place of success where i never thought I could be. Getting a job wasnt hard either I got a job during week 6 and started during week 8. They are very supportive and they all want to see you all be successful. Thanks for everything that you all have done the last 12 weeks. It has been a pleasure to be around yall. I wish you the class, and the many classes after the best of luck and the greatest success! 😉Warm regards,Sherlyn.
