Im so thankful for a local place to go to learn and practice. There are so many great reasons to love this place and Jim. He listens to his students and tailors classes to fit our needs and questions. He is so patient and helpful no matter how many questions and times Ive bothered him for help. He gives great advice that I trust because of his many years of experience in the business and humble attitude. His classes arent a way to show off his own talent or brag about his career; he is humble and cares about his students success. I think my favorite thing about his classes is that he not only helps you with nailing on-screen acting, but he really helps you understand the business side and how to package yourself as a professional actor. Without his self-tape class, I would still be making a fool of myself to casting directors because most classes dont teach you how to handle the business side of show business. Since coming to the Indy Actors Academy Im consistently getting booked, Im more confident when I submit and go to auditions and on camera. So side bonus things I really appreciate is that he points out things in your acting that may look odd on camera that you dont realize and that he is also cost conscious of actors. Not only do we explore acting techniques and exercises, but we discuss successful audition tips, industry trends, and practical things in regards to how to move for camera among other things.
