I love visiting here even just to look at new stock. I bought a used Fender electric acoustic in great shape for only $99 which I thought that was a fantastic price. I went ahead and bought a soft travel bag while I was at it.

Riley, an extraordinary employee listened to what my needs and expectations were and she demonstrated the equipment showing me a range to choose from and helped me check out and load it into my car. No pressure but loads of explanation on how to use the equipment I purchased. Im an elderly lady who needed more help than the typical young person.Thank you Riley!

Called in over the phone to purchase a used instrument. Clerk who first answered the phone was polite and helpful. Quickly transferring me to the proper department, once connected I was able to speak to Riley. Probably the best thing to happen, she was very polite, very knowledgeable and very patient with me as we went through the ordering process. Ordering took a bit longer than expected due to some logistics with shipping to other stores, but Riley was determined to make sure I was able to get through the purchase. Although it was close to their closing time, I was never made to feel rushed or like they did not want to speak on the phone any longer. Holds were very brief. Riley and her Managers on site 9/1/21 were extremely helpful even up to almost 30 minutes after closing! Would recommend this location to any buyer be that in person or over the phone.Thank you. 😊

I had a wonderful experience at Sam Ash music store. I stopped in to ask a few questions regarding a trumpet I had purchased elsewhere. In checking out the instrument, the salesman noticed a ring was missing and offered to repair it right then at no cost. They also smoothed my mouthpiece. I ended up purchasing an additional instrument. Very impressed with service, will definitely be back, even though it is an almost 2 hr drive!. Highly recommend!

I was interested in a very odd snare drum that most places will just not carry. They happened to have one and upon my intention to buy over the phone. The staff pulled the drum for me while I drove an hour to pick it up. Extremely friendly staff who loved to talk shop. Big fan

Chris ‘n’ Zach in the strings and amplifier section are tremendous associates. They really made me feel comfortable before, during and after my purchase. Wanted to give a shout out to the crew at the Indy Sam Ash. Employee turned down the store music so I could test an amp/cab, I didn’t ask him to do so. I traded gear for the amp/cab, gave me what I asked for in trade value with no hassle. Recently bought some accessories, again employees and manager were professional and pleasant to work with.

Bought a new Fender Flea signature active bass. was In a hurry, had dinner reservations, sales lady had my new bass guitar ready within 10 minutes. Best price around, hundreds of dollars cheaper than lowest price in reverb. Also included 2 years of free setup. First time buying an instrument from them but will definitely be back.

I just sent back a Boss WL-20L wireless guitar rig to Roland that I purchased online from Sam Ash on 4/18/21. Sam Ash refused to accept the return due to their 30 day policy and suggested I try Roland. From the time I actually received the product (once shipped) to when I had sufficient time to try it out and get back with Sam Ash, it was just over 30 days. Suffice it to say I don’t wish to do business with Sam Ash anymore.Anyway, I got the unit in late April, used it once at home and it worked well with little latency at up to 50 feet from the receiver. So, I tried it at church about 2 weeks later (when I was scheduled to serve) and sound quality was good but latency had a noticeable, significant and unacceptable increase at more than 20 feet from the receiver, so I resolved to just use it for rehearsals when I was also mixing sound simultaneously. I used it a third time a week later at rehearsal and not only did latency increase at only 5 feet from the unit, but the signal started cutting out and crackling.I spoke with Sam Ash customer service at the local retail store, called them at the national number provided AND filled out a service request online. The representative at the customer service department at the national number said they would start a case and get back with me, but hung up without even asking for my contact information. Oddly, I still have not heard back from them.Sam Ash always wants to charge extra to ‘facilitate’ accepting returns on faulty or low quality equipment but seldom wants to do the right thing by the customer, even when they should.

We bought a vintage Olds trigger trombone in excellent shape for my son in highschool marching band. Sound is exquisite.

Well it was ok. They didnt have anything special. The electric drums were not setup properly and beat up. Some shelves were empty, but in 2021 thats expected. The staff was real helpful and nice though.

Went in and had nothing but friendly service by the staff. Found what I needed and found out what I wanted. Riley over in Castleton was nothing but amazing.

I recently moved to Indianapolis and I have been looking for a music store to enhance my home studio. I came across Sam Ash Music Store and I was amazed and satisfied from the moment I walked in the door. They have a great selection of music equipment and an attentive staff. Going forward, they can shut up and take my money!!!

It would be helpful if they were able to employ more people, but after 2020 Im just glad theyre open. Alejandro was amazingly helpful and his customer service was absolutely on point.

Called about a Seymour Duncan p/u for my PRS Standard and spoke to Eric. He said that he didn’t have it in the store but would check his warehouse that was next door and call me back in a few minutes. He called back and had it went down picked up came home installed it sounds great very happy. Will be doing business there from now on.Thanks for the great experience from Eric and his Manager way better then the competition ( or no competition in my eyes ) down the street.

The selection of drum-percussion equipment has been on the decline lately. You maybe better off ordering online.

I really appreciate the staff at Sam Ash, especially in the Woodwind department. I recently purchased a played Saxophone and I was highly satisfied. All the pads seal well and there was little wear for a vintage Saxophone. Vito( really a YAS-23) as they were manufactured by Yamaha. I will definitely make this my music shop as others done cater to a wide variety of musical instruments.

Getting some help was frustrating and time consuming. The woman that did end up helping me was very kind. The store has it all and seems to be a musicians paradise.

I like to pop in every now and then to browse their selection of synthesizers. While at the moment their display is sparse, then tend to have a pretty good supply of many popular brands.They folks there also tend to know what theyre talking about. Got a question on what synth might be good for a certain kind of sound? They can point you in the right direction. Need to know how to get all your fear connected? They can help you there too.Would absolutely recommend.

I went in to the Indianapolis Sam Ash store with a specific guitar in mind. I saw it in their online inventory. I called the store to verify it was there and it was.When I got to the store I was taken directly to the guitar and it was on sale for $300 less than the online price! This review is for guitar tech Grandon Westlund - simply THE BEST guitar tech in Indy! I drive from Greenwood (past two GCs, where Ive had poor service, and even had to ask for a refund due to that poor service), but finally found Grandon at Sam Ash and now both my acoustics, and electrics are never a concern regarding setup, always perfect, which is important since I gig weekly and do a lot of picking high on the neck, he keeps them perfectly set, making soloing as easy as my electric.Hes worth the drive for me, and I guarantee if youre used to using the other store, youll see a definite improvement in your gear immediately with Grandon! I really love this store because of its availability of items and great deals but one thing that I can say is that wait times can vary immensely. It may be because of COVID and not having enough staff that particular Saturday, but I did not receive any help in the guitar section for 25 minutes. The one staff just looked at me and went and helped other people when he had already seen me looking at the guitar pedals and never asked me if I had been helped or even as simple as “hey I’ll be with you shortly do you need anything?” I ended up having to go to guitar center and they quickly attended me. Again this might have been because of low staff so I understand it can happen. I love this store and I hope I can have a better experience next time.

We have had such a great experience at Sam Ash from purchasing a guitar to the lessons my son takes. His teacher is knowledgeable and keeps him engaged.

I took my taylor in for a tune up and neck reset. I was told it would take 10 to 14 days (which was totally expected) 8 days later the luthier called me to tell me it was done and what all he did. It plays like a dream! Price was good and service was great.

The store has a very large selection of instruments, most new, some used: guitars, electric basses, amplifiers, and more as well as percussion, horns, and recording equipment. My wife and I bought a new Strat, amplifier, and accessories for our grandson for his college graduation. The young man who helped us was knowledgeable, pleasant, and patient. It was a very good experience.

Generally good guys. Though had a negative experience recently.Was trying out an amp I was interested. I turned it up moderately loud to see how it sounded at stage level (small, 18 watt amp). All the staff were fine with that as I was about the only person in the area.Sales kid comes over and asks me in a rude way if Im going to buy it. He then starts to turn the volume down without explanation.To answer his question I just said not now and left. Perfectly good way to screw up an easy sale. Going to buy the amp online now.

The store is laid out well so I knew exactly where to look for what I needed. The staff was super helpful and friendly, im new to playing guitar and they answered many of my questions well!

So the selection was great, customer service was so so. The kid who helped us up was fairly young, teenaged probably and wasn’t super helpful when we had a few questions but I mean he is working for probably min wage (apparently not commission lol) so I can’t completely blame him. I will say the prices were excellent, much cheaper than the same items online. All in all we have bought all of our instruments and accessories at Sam Ash and will probably continue to do so. We will just probably do some research before hand next time and not rely on the expertise of the employees there.

They have a good selection, but their Covid response (at least as of October 2020) is a JOKE.The signs on the door say you need to get a staff member to hand you a guitar before you play it...NOPE. You can just walk right in and grab whatever you want. There was only ONE bottle of sanitizer in the whole store (by the front door) and it was EMPTY!I am extremely disappointed in their unsafe practices and I dont think I can bring myself to come back.

Friendly, helpful service. I needed a cable. When I was in the process of ordering it online, the website indicated it would be free shipping but at checkout I was going to be charged for shipping. When I called the local store they were willing to have me order it over the phone and obtain free shipping. The cable was delivered within the amount of time I was told it would be.

I was greeted by a nice gentleman who lead me to the area of my interest, the drum. There he introduced me to the person who could help me the most. Upon listening to her, she was very knowledgeable, detailed and orientated. I was very impressed! I bought a drum set and keyboard that day. That visit was my only time Ive been in this store, but after meeting her, it wont be my last. Customer for life here...thanks.

I was in the middle of mixing some vocals of a most amazing singer I am recording for my album when one of my studio monitors blew up. I went to Sam Ash and was greeted by Cameron Robertson who showed me some incredible Samson speakers that were head and shoulders above my old Alesis speakers. They were floor models and he made it worth my while. His manner was incredibly cheerful and confidence building as I was a bit dubious about not being able to purchase brand name speakers at a reasonable price. But when I got home, BAM, that chicks vocals shined and my violin sparkled through those speakers in a way I had never experienced. Just yesterday I was in the kitchen preparing dinner and swore she was singing along with the track, but it was the Samsons replicating her sweet voice so perfectly. Thanks again Cameron, you once again have re-affirmed my faith in Sam Ash. Im going nowhere else for any equipment in the future!

We could not have had a better experience with Solar our sales representative who spent about 2 hours with us! As well as Jamie the General Manager. I was able to purchase it completely online.Sam Ash takes the time to provide multiple beautifully detailed photographs of each used item and a detailed description of the item with all used equipment.I took the time to call the store let them know I bought the guitar and they were so nice they went out of their way to make sure the guitar was in good playable condition before they shipped it.and even though the salesman I talked to on the phone was not the one who sold me the guitar, since I bought it online, he took ownership of the sale and then followed up with sending me an email letting me know if there was anything else I needed help with or any concerns with the guitar to feel free to contact him.That is absolutely the best service you can get from an online sale.Thank you Sam Ash

I just purchased the 600 w Fender portable sound system. We hooked it up in store and it sounded great. I had to purchase the display model as it was the last one in stock. No worries though it looks great and has the full 5 year Fender warranty. I also purchased the Sam Ash extended warranty along with it. Good customer service along with a decent selection of systems.

Derek helped me with a speaker/microphone rental for a wedding rehearsal dinner. it was quick, friendly, and easy. the equipment was perfect and the return also easy.Hadnt been there before. it is an amazing place full of energy and neat equipment.Id recommend them to anyone based on my own experience.

I’ve been here many times. Spent more than I ever should’ve probably. I’ve bought a 2018 Gibson SG Special and a Standard from here. Overall great staff. Memphis is usually the guy to go to if you’re looking for some new gear. They pretty much have never let me down there. Staff is pretty interactive which is awesome in my opinion. Nothing like talking gear to another person. If I ever need another guitar or pedals for that matter because they have A LOT. I’m not the biggest pedal user except for sometimes when I use the basics. They set up their guitars almost perfect from their tech guy who I can’t remember the name of right now. Very relaxing place to be at too, doesn’t matter where you start out at on an instrument. Always a treat to visit.

Sam Ash customer service is Awesome! We’ve bought two instruments for our daughter there over the last two years, including a marimba and the team there helped us above and beyond through the whole process. They researched the best instruments for the price, matched other retailers pricing, and George even came in on his day off to put the marimba together. He took the time to show our family how to take care of the instrument over time, transport it, and went over techniques our daughter could use when playing this model. He even helped load it into our vehicle. You can really tell how much knowledge George had about the instrument and how much he cared. We had a similar experience purchasing an acoustic guitar there last year. Being family owned and the team they’ve put together, you can tell Sam Ash cares about it’s customers. We will be going back for our music equipment and instrument needs! :)

Service was good, except they could not find the item I ordered in their backroom, had to wait about 30 minutes before they could come up with it.Also noticed prices were higher, had I not been pressed for time I would have went a couple blocks down the street to Guitar Center. Plus, they want to charge $10 for a box to ship a guitar! What kind of service is that?

Both selling and buying guitars at Sam Ash was one of the best customer experiences Ive ever had at a music store. My salesperson, Shaun, his manager, George Rigney and the entire staff at the Springfield, NJ store were top notch. Had a slight glitch with shipment from another store, which was immediately addressed and corrected by George and Larry Nitka. Will definitely be doing business again with Sam Ash and recommending this store to all of my musician friends!

Great job. The guys stayed late to help finish the transaction, but when all was done they didnt even have what I wanted in stock. I had to go home empty handed without any kind of tracking information. Other than that was very satisfied.

I was in the Indy location yesterday as part of my weekly hunt for the perfect guitar. I bought a Jackson several weeks ago but once home I just wasn’t thrilled with it. I worked with Scott on this guitar and although disappointed to hear of my returned guitar he completely understood and offered to help me continue to look for the right one or possibly two guitars. So four weeks later I show up again yesterday and am working with Shawn who is a guy that has always stopped to visit with me each time I come in for the past four years I have lived here. He is a great guy and even though I only know him from Adam Ash I consider him a friend. Today was the day I spent several hours playing different guitars and worked a deal on two of them with Shawn and Scott. This is a shout out to these guys and the time spent on helping me find the right guitars not just any guitars for a quick sale. I have been in to this store countless times and I have never been treated poorly. I am always welcomed to the store and asked if I need help upon arrival. Shawn has always recognized me and stopped to visit and offer assistance as needed. He is an absolute asset to Sam Ash so don’t lose him! Thanks again guys.
