As you can see there are different opinions of Grace Hopper. Every experience is different. Academically, this is a 4 star school. They challenge their students which would be a good reason to send your child. The teachers and the Principal, Ms. Anderson are great. However, I took my child out because the Executive Director told my child she needed special ed services because she couldnt explain to her why she talks so much in class. QUOTE: There must be something wrong with you. She actually repeated those words to me directly too. Her teachers and the Principal confirmed that my child has never been disrespectful to them. so Im not sure why she felt it was appropriate to say to a child. We expect the adults in our childrens life to uplift and encourage. Just make sure you talk to other parents and students before you make your decision.

This is a very good school to send your kid to. The 8th grade girls are giving a test that see if they are able to go to St Marys Academy

This school is run horribly. It is unsafe for students, they allow a male worker to threaten and intimidate female parents while they stand by and look on. They condone this behavior from this violent thug and they dont care about the effect on crying children and mothers who are traumatized by his terror because he is a relative of one of the office workers. I removed my child after seeing this. My daughter hated it here and so do the daughters of other children I know personally, that attend this cheap little ridiculous school. This is NO private school education . This is a raggedy PUBLIC school and it STINKS. Take your child to Crozier. Now THATS a SCHOOL. I was a sceptic at first but now I LOVE IT. My daughter is happy, has all Honors classes, and is doing very well 😎

For the past couple of months, I have had the pleasure to work with both the staff and students at GHSA. I am honored to be a part of such a nourishing and culturally diverse community. The curricular is outstanding. It is designed to meet students where they are while strategically scaffolding towards grade level or above. In addition, students are participating in a open forum discussion once a week where they address issues that teens struggle with today eg. Self esteem, bullying, career readiness, attributes of good character, and much more). Students are able to use self regulating strategies that are being taught through Positive behavior Support Interventions. Ms. Margo and Mrs. Anderson are very supportive to their students, parents, and staff. They provide positive feedback and constructive criticism when necessary. What touched me the most this year - is when they provided Thanksgiving dinners to college individuals who wasnt able to be with their own families on Thanksgiving DAY! Not too often in the public schools are our children taught to extend themselves to others and make sacrifices... yet I have witnessed it being done at GHSA. This school is a model school that exemplifies all the attributes of a community of individuals that TRULY CARE for their students!
