I don’t quite understand all of the bad reviews. My family moved to Columbia from Charleston, and my youngest daughter attended this daycare. It was a hasty decision because of the availability and affordable price, but it was a great decision. My little one loved it there and everyone was very pleasant.

Since the post explaining why we dont like nor want our children going to this daycare keep being deleted, that should show anyone enough. they hide things, are not honest, and have made my views of any daycare absolutely awful. Wee care has ruined my look on any other person helping/watching my child. please take your babies anywhere but here.

My daughter went to WeeCare for 2yrs. It started out okay, it was not the WeeCare I remembered when my son attended however it was familiar and I decided to let my daughter attend, while I believe she was in a safe environment I feel that for the weekly rate which increased she was not being educated at all. Teachers literally changed from month to month. Directors changed and parents were not even formally introduced to a new director, advised of their credentials or anything. My daughter never brought any type of art work home or anything showing activities during the day. The summer rate for (at the time she was 2) increased for no reason. She was not of age to be taken any where for summer activities and I seen no proof of any additional indoor activities to justify the rate increase during the summer only for Sept to come and the summer rate became the regular rate. Their attendance rate dropped drastically which account for the rate increase. Needless to say I removed my child from the center and wouldnt recommend them.

I called this CDC to see if they had an opening for a 5 month old; they told me they did.....Great.I read on their website If youre in the area, stop by for a tour. No appointment necessary. so that is what I did. So glad I did that and didnt make a hasty decision to put my son there.I entered the facility (without having to enter in a key code on the key pad on the front door) and was smacked in the face by a strong odor of cleaning chemicals. Oh yes, Im glad to know they clean but there are safe products to be used around children that dont have such strong smells. It may have smelled clean but it did not look very clean.I stood in the foyer of the facility for 5 minutes and NEVER saw a single person and only heard the voice of 1 adult coming from one of the rooms. Needless to say, I turned around and walked right out and I guarantee that no one knew I was ever there.Safety is huge these days, especially with our children and to know that anyone could walk right in to this CDC without anyone knowing, screams STAY AWAY!!!I would like to encourage everyone to make an unannounced visit to any child care facility you are considering to get a real sense of how things go there. If they tell you that you HAVE to come at a certain time, its probably so they can prepare and warn staff of visitors.STAY AWAY FROM WEE CARE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER IN IRMO!

I am the Director of the facility at Wee Care CDC and am very aware of the DSS citations and their meaning. We were never cited for any sanitary issues or child neglect. The things you see pending are maintenance issues that have since been corrected and we are awaiting our follow up so the will be corrected. Dss citations are not always about the care children receive it could be anything from chipping paint, a ceiling tile with a water stain, not enough cushioning on the playground this is why parents are informed on the website of DSS that you can call and check to see what they are. I encourage any parent to do so. As far as myself I am always available to address concerns when parents come to me. As far as the Grade of C. That is actually a level that most centers that are just beginning to take ABC vouchers will go on to get started. Not an actual letter grade such as a restaurant might receive. You level up by teachers having degrees, more equipment and things of that nature not because you are awful. Being the Director I also know all of the parents and do not know the name of the parent making these accusations but I do know Mrs. Britton and her children. Whomever you are I wish that you would have voiced any concerns that you had, so they could have been addressed. As for anyone else I would ask that you come in tour our facility and make your own conclusions. I would love for you to meet our amazing teachers.
