I normally give 4/5 star reviews but this studio deserves 1. Required mask and vaccination records, at the same time asked to my phone when checking the record. People working here are so fake!

Karen police mask at the door making sure the mask is all the way to the top of your eyes! Lol definitely horrible experience. This woman was so rude, unbelievable

On their calendar, they have Argentine tango practica on Sunday from 8:30 till 11:55 pm. So I got all dressed and went to practice. Halfway through the practice at 10:15, they abruptly decided to shut it down. So I went to the front counter and asked for a partial refund. The woman at the front counter was very unapologetic and told me that they can shut it down anytime they want and that there is “no refund”. If they want to randomly shut it down, they should say that it’s from 8:30 till “Whenever” on their website. I am annoyed because I spent more time getting ready for the event than actually practicing.

Fu and your vaccination proof card.... I hope you lose more customers, because what you are doing is illegal ! People shouldnt have to show you proof of nothing!

If you are in or around Irvine, this is the place to come to take all your dancing lessons and for all your socal dancing needs. Its alway hard to find the place your first time here, but other then that its A+

They offer so many opportunities to dance a variety of styles and they are so popular that there are always people to dance with. Its also a place where you dont need to be an awesome dancer in order to dance and make friends. Everybody dances with everybody and its a very friendly environment.

One of the best swing spots Ive ever been to.The new student special is really great... If youre just getting into dancing, you can do unlimited dancing for a week and see what youre into. Salsa? Swing? Tango? Belly dancing? I tried every lesson I could and it was great.

One of the largest dance venues Ive ever been to. Large dance floor and nice outdoor scenery and decor. A few fountains and fire places scattered around the premise. Really creates a cozy atmosphere until you get inside with the loud jam packed dance floor.

No experience. Damn Covid ! 😂 Hope to try the group classes soon.

This is the best dance studio youll ever go to. The classes are beginner-friendly and taught by experienced and welcoming staff. The social dancing draws hundreds of fun people. They have great new student specials and everyone is so friendly that before you know it they feel like family.

Ive been to Atomic for the past 7 months and Im still going. I have to say starting off first time at a dance studio is a bit intimidating, but once you get past that stage and meet some friends youll feel this is the place to be to just dance the night away. My first class that I started in was Lindy Hop. Its natural to feel like you want to learn more so that you can really start dancing or feel comfortable on the dance floor, but honey, its your first class and youre not going to know everything in your first class. Over a few classes, youll eventually get better. I still suggest social dancing even when youre afraid that you may mess up and such. Its okay were all out there to practice. I believe the beginners dont stay as long, especially the leads, because there isnt much move to do at first. I think just master what you learned for that night practice it out on the dance floor until youre comfortable, leave and be prepared for the next class.Ive also ventured out and started learning West Coast Swing, Argentine Tango, Balboa, and Tap dancing. I just love them all! There are nice people in the social scenes, weird ones and there are also some cliques. Come by, dance and meet some cool peeps! Maybe youll meet me and Im not that weird person you meet. ;)

I was welcomed with open arms.I highly recommend giving this venue a shot if you are an experienced dancer or a complete beginner. Youll definitely meet happy and kind people.Theres classes tailored toward every skill level (including those with zero dance background like myself). Most the people are nice, but as with most well-established venues, atomic is crowded and caters best to folks who are already fairly good at swing dance.I thought the beginner lessons would be fasted paced for someone completely new and most of the social dancers have multiple years of experience.Overall, it is a pretty fun place if you are prepared to be around150-300 people. I gave it 3 stars because its a great place to dance and hone dancing skills, but honestly a bit crowded. Though the people are nice, the size and prestige that an established venue brings will make it a little difficult to make new friends.

Love the blues room they have upstairs. Fantastic music that I could move to. Would definately bring my large group of friends back there! Classy and fun place!

This review is for ARs salsa night on Wednesdays. The place is spacious and the floor is superb. Lots of nice people in attendance and the level of dance skill is great. The only thing dragging this place down is the music. The DJs choices are a mix of bland and low-tempo tunes. Very uninspiring. Im guessing this DJ plays the music for himself and not for the crowd. He did come out of the booth to indulge himself and a reduced group to a couple of casino/rueda tunes. In summary, their salsa event would improve significantly with better music. Somebody please give this DJ a good playlist and a Spotify account. Urgently.

I had maybe one of the best nights of my life here! The intro classes were nicely gauged to the right level and its a really great social dance for beginners like myself (everyones so friendly and forgiving!)If I lived in Irvine I would come to this places 7 nights a week!

First time at this dance studio. We had David as our Latin salsa beginners salsa class . The Instructor method of teaching classes was not good , he did not take the time to show each of us what we did right or wrong we rotated partners which is also something my boyfriend and I did not want to do.

Great dancers, great floor, the dj is worse than Ebola. Probably good for beginners and ballroom. Tuesday balboa is fine. If you’re an experienced lindy or east coast swing dancer the music is atrocious. The dj consistantly insults Basie, Ellington, and Calloway by playing inferior and blasphemous modern versions of songs that were amazing when the original artists made them. If you like dancing to original jazz and big band avoid this place. If you don’t care about music and are fine dancing to cherry popping voodoo cats then you’ll love it.Also this review is from 2018. Love this place

Most amazing dance studio ever. Huge variety of classes with very talented teachers, nice people (dancers/students), awesome staff, dances several nights of the week.I started here to learn west coast swing in May. I have done the classes + private lessons package, which is the only way to go (for me). You can find people your level to practice with by going to the classes. There are many great dancers at this studio who go to the dances with whom youll have the good fortune to dance with occasionally too. I feel the dancers here are approachable and friendly about dancing with the newer dancers, which is hugely helpful to me in helping to advance my own dancing.Since I have some of my west coast basics down, Im now branching out to the other dances: jazz, hip hop, east coast swing/lindy/charleston, and some latin and ballroom classes too. Its all here, and if you can find time in your schedule, you can find something fun every night of the week.

This review is not for their actual dance instruction but moreso their customer service.I had purchased a Groupon for their school for 10 dance classes. I have always been interested in taking lessons from this place since it was so close to my work. I had gone in one day for a beginners salsa class, which was a lot of fun. At the end of the class, my friend and I noticed that they had a flyer at the front desk for an all-day hip hop workshop a month from that day. So I asked the person at the front desk whether or not they would accept my Groupon towards this class. The individual at the front desk wasnt 100% sure, so he asked his coworker also at the front desk whether that was ok, and she said yes. So my friend and I both signed up for the workshop right then and there. The front desk assistant told us we were good to go. I was so excited about this class (Id been looking for something similar to this for a while now) that I told another friend to buy the Groupon as well and take the class with us. She called in later to reserve her spot. They provided her with a confirmation number and told her theyd see her at the workshop.Fast forward a few weeks later, just 3 days before the actual workshop. (Mind you - there are 3 of us already who had been told that our Groupon would be honored as payment - one of which already had a confirmation number provided by the business provided via phone) My friend received an email from Atomic Ballroom because she was on their regular email subscription, and she happened to look at the email and the workshop we were attending in 3 days stated at the bottom that they did not take Groupon as payments for this workshop. I was very confused, as 3 of us were already told that Groupon were acceptable forms of payment. So I called Atomic Ballroom to confirm if we were still ok for the class.When I called, the individual who picked up the phone told me that he did not see my name under the roster. So I explained my situation to him (that I had signed up weeks earlier and one of their employees took my name and told me that everything was good to go). He simply told me that they didnt accept the Groupon, so thats why my name wasnt listed under the class. I was so confused that I didnt ask any other questions.Five minutes later, I called back because I wanted to explain in more detail to prove to them that their employee told us incorrect information. So I talked to another individual who picked up the phone and gave them exact details. I went to their 12:15 Beginners Salsa class on February 9th. Unfortunately, I didnt remember the instructors name, but he had a cool-looking hat. After the class had ended is when we signed up. Therefore, at around 1:15, a male and female worker were at the desk, and both individuals had told both my friend and myself that they would accept Groupon as payment.The response I got from their worker upon giving them all this information was the following:Oh. That was probably Raul who told you that. He only works here once a week, so he told you the wrong information. We never accept Groupon for workshops. If you want a refund, you can just go through Groupon.I was appalled by their lack of customer service. And I feel that if they truly cared about their customers, they would have honored what their employees tell customers, whether it was correct or not.Again - this is not a rating on their actual dance lessons. I had a very good time taking the one beginning salsa class I attended. However, I am deeply disappointed in their management and was extremely offended by their lack of customer service even after acknowledging that it was in fact their employee who made the mistake, not the customer.
