Sensei Alex and Sensei Nadia are both wonderful instructors. They help kids to develop their self esteem, self confidence and discipline along with mastering martial art skills. My son enjoys every moment of the class.

We have been very pleased with Tajik Karate Academy and the instructor, Sensei Alex. My daughter started taking online classes during the pandemic. Even through online classes, Sensei Alex made sure her forms were correct and was very encouraging. He does a great job communicating with the students and parents. I highly recommend this place.

This place is the best all around.Sensei Tajik have created an environment of growth, friendship, trust and becoming the best person you can be by pushing your boundaries both mentally and physically.

Sensei Alex has quickly pivot to handle both online and offline. His class is engaging so kids are actually following along even on zoom. I really like that sensei teaches discipline but also have fun with the kids.

Sensei Alex is great. My son is really enjoying his classes and is learning many skills. Senseis wife and daughter are also black belts and are great with the kids as well.

After researching multiple karate dojos in Irvine we selected Tajik Karate and enrolled our 6 year old son 6. Tajik karate teaches kids respect for everyone, hard work and promotes good health. Of all the sports we tried, karate has been the most fun and it never grew old. Today after 4 years of training, our 10 year old son received a black belt in Karate. Alex Tajik is a very uplifting, positive role model and trully cares about his dojo and students. His kids are also there practicing, assisting, promoting fitness, discipline and of course fun! This place is great! Weve been taking my son here for about a year and he progressed so quickly, Sensei Alex really takes his time with the kids and explains everything really well. It has taught my son patience and disapline. Highly recommend to any one in the Irvine area wanting to learn karate!

Where do I begin? My six-year-old son attended karate at this studio for approximately 18 months. During that time, we had little to no issues with classes or with Sensei Alex or his assistants. Fast forward to month 18 and my son, a typical kindergarten boy, was having a rough day. He was tired and just having trouble focusing, so he began to cry. Instead of taking the time to speak with him or console him, Sensei Alex began to yell at him, and as a consequence made him kneel in the corner and face the wall, with his nose a mere six inches away from the wall itself. As my son became increasingly more embarrassed by being singled out in front of his classmates, he hit his head on the wall, and Sensei yanked him up by the arm and walked him to the door where he kicked him out of class. When my wife went to the studio door to see what was happening, Sensei very rudely raised his voice to her as well, and repeatedly told her to get him out and take him home. My wife and son left in tears. The way Sensei treated my child is ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE. We sat down and emailed him to discuss what took place and express our disbelief in the way he spoke to both my son and wife, and put his hands on our child, and that was met with more hostility.After nearly 4 weeks of back and forth discussion, we agreed to come in and sit down with Sensei Alex face to face and meet to discuss his actions. My wife holds a doctorate in elementary education, and is a 17 year veteran of the school system, with a background in child psychology. She did the majority of the talking at this meeting, trying to express to Sensei that his actions were mentally damaging to our son, not to mention disrespectful at a minimum. How can you teach respect as part of a martial art, but yet fail to give it - to an adult or a six-year-old? Sensei very clearly does not like women, especially those with any education or those that speak on behalf of their families. He made that very clear when he spoke to us. Women are beneath him. He does not value their opinion and certainly will not tolerate one who calls him out on his despicable behavior. He went as far as to threaten me personally via email. I take this type of threat seriously, and the man should NOT be allowed to be anywhere near children!Unfortunately, after much thought we decided to pull our son out of Tajik Karate Studio. Despite our sons love for karate, we could not justify this mans behavior, his lack of empathy or desire to treat people with common courtesy. We have contacted the City of Irvines business license department, and this is not the first complaint against this studio. BEWARE! The only thing youll get out of Tajik Karate Studio is a child with lowered self-esteem. If you value your childs mental well-being, find a different studio.

Tajik Karate Academy is an experience. The Dojo is a family (I said a family not like a family) and everyone can feel the same emotion after the first day. This is the first time in my life that I have the opportunity to training with my son. Karate with Sensei Alex and Mike is an amazing opportunity to learn about respect, discipline and the body feelings. Karate with Tajik is more than a simple sport, it gives a mental strength trough practice; focus, repetition and in a same time with joy in a closer relation with our kids. This is the best time where a parent can lead by example. This is something doesn’t happen so frequently in our life. Thanks Alex to help us to be better parents and give us so much energy!!

After seeing the Tajik Karate Ad and visiting the class, it was very interesting to see the Master of the class had so much knowledge in Martial Arts and such glorious history and experiences. After signing up my kids in this class, other than achieving Karate skills in a very high level, my kids are having the most enjoyment and fun during the class. They love it . I suggest if you are looking for an excellent Martial Art class, here is the place.

Iam very happy with Tajik karate academy.The instructor is very good with kids.My kids love him. I have seen great amount of improvement in my 4 year old son,he has become more confident and his stamina too has increased.Its been just a month since we started.

My son loves it! As a martial arts instructor myself, I was concerned about finding a good teacher and a legit lineage. Lets be real: there is a lot of mcDojos out there looking for your money. I am so glad I discovered Tajik sensei. He is a passionate and knowledgeable teacher of Shotokan karate who deeply cares about his students. His program teaches traditional karate in a modern, friendly, atmosphere. My kid learnes a lot and his self-esteem and focus haved dramatically improved! I wanted my 5-yr-old son to exercise while staying away from the grilling summer heat, then I found Tajik Karate Academy. Without knowing what to expect, the journey kicked off. After the 1st class, my kid came back to me with the biggest smile on his face and couldnt stop sharing his eye-popping experience. When its time for Karate, he jumps to it, instead of dragging his feet. Sensei Alex is easy to work with, patient with the young kids and passionate. The senior peers assist the little ones from the bottom of their hearts. Im glad to see my kid picking up the merit by being part of it. It is a class Id recommend to everyone.
