This place is amazing, I started training about 2 1/2 years ago. I slowly got better and better. You arent just in there to exercise, you learn to make friends, you build a Jiu-Jitsu family. I fell so in love with the self defense I started training for the sport as well. It became the healthiest addiction I have ever had. It helped me with depression and anxiety. I since have lost over 50lbs from it and am still going. It is not my #1 priority and I am at the academy every day. It changed my life for the better and for good. Not a day goes by that I look back at where I was and want to go back to it! Dont let fear stop you. I would be in panic daily just to even step on the mats, trust me it gave me my life back, imagine what it could do for you!

Ive been training with Brian Imholz and his academy for about two months. The people are very welcoming and very humble. The teaching is top notch - ive grown extremely fast. These guys know incredible fundamentals as well as advanced moves. Its a really good culture with great competitors - and no one tries to just beat you up unless you try to beat them up first :)

Incredible academy! Whether you are looking to learn self defense, get in shape, or better yourself mentally and physically, I would highly recommend Gracie Humaita of Southeast Missouri. The coaches are very knowledgable, patient, and willing to work with students. You also will quickly find that not only will jiu jitsu provide physical improvement but also mental. I personally have gained an enormous amount of discipline and patients from training at the academy. Once again, it is an amazing school perfectly geared for all ages and genders.

My daughter started BJJ last fall, from the second we walked through the door she was greeted by kids and encouraged to join them on the mat. In a very short time friendships grew, and it’s now like extended family. Professor Brian is amazing with kids as well as adults. The best quality Jiu Jitsu you’ll find between St. Louis, MO and Memphis, TN. Great place for the entire family to go to do something fun, get fit and learn self defense. If you’re looking for Jiu Jitsu competition, there is that too, you’re not going to find a better place in Southeast Missouri to prepare for a grappling tournament.

I have been a member of this academy for almost a year, and I can say it has been the best decision I’ve ever made (when it comes to health and wellness/training). My daughter has also been training there for almost a year, and she is now obsessed with Jiu Jitsu! Professor Brian Imholz, is not only a top notch instructor, he is an overall top notch human being. Jiu Jitsu can be very intimidating when you’re first trying to get started in it, but Professor Imholz and his team of Instructors are extremely awesome people with a passion for teaching the art, and this makes getting started easier to do. I highly recommend this facility, especially if you are in the field of law enforcement, or in the Military.

I enrolled my son at Cape BJJ in April. Shortly after he became in love with the sport. Coach Brian is great with the kids. Since we have been there we have met some amazing people. Students and their families. We feel like we are becoming part of a family by being a member there. Teaching each other great self defense and good morals and manners. We love Cape BJJ!

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a class act! I recommend this incredible academy without any hesitation. Both my oldest son and myself are active members here. Coach Brian personifies a quiet professionalism. He cultivates a cohesive environment in which you witness his knowledge of the art, a desire for his students, and humility. His ability to explain technique, strategy, and application of movements; have helped me understand the what and why to art itself.As for my son, he has personally grown immensely. I see a more confident child who has adapted to being outside of his comfort zone. The kids class does a phenomenal job of teaching drills and basics while ensuring children are in a safe environment and all skill levels are accommodated. All while simultaneously having FUN! My son Loves PURPLE BALL!!!!!!As for myself in the adult classes. I was very surprised at the overwhelming warm reception within the student body. No alpha mentalities, I have rolled with higher ranking belts and they allow you to apply techniques and work through problems vs just applying there skill set to win every time , preventing growth. Simply put it an amazing ego free environment in which everyone wants everyone to succeed.Regarding the frequency of classes and times - the academy is extremely accessible, adult classes offered twice a day Mon - Thu. One class on Fri. Womens only classes are weekly. Kids classes offered in the evenings and saturdays. As well as scheduled private lessons. The accessibility is amazing for our active family of five. Also as a student you can attend as much as you desire. Many facilities base tuition rates on limited visits per week. I also found to tuition to be beyond reasonable.Coach Brian will host many guests practitioners, giving students a lot of exposure to hi level Jiu Jitsu locally.In summary a priceless personal investment in my family and myself.
