Beth is a wonderful, kind and clever human being. She is a wonderful teacher and provided me with all the base knowledge I needed to start my career as a bartender. I will be forever grateful for what she taught me and giving me the confidence to pursue this career. She even helps with job leads after graduating from her course! For anyone who is looking to be a bartender or just wants to learn the trade for fun, go to her.

If youre looking to get into bartending or just want to learn some new skills I would really recommend this place. The owner, Beth, knows her stuff and makes every lesson fun. Flexible class hours and hands on teaching make this place a great spot to learn.

The experience I had at the International School of Bartending school was outstanding! Beth is a great teacher and gives you all the tools to be successful. She also does not waste time in providing connections to full time and part time job opportunities, you can start making money really fast! As someone who had no experience behind a bar previously I knew I could get a job and work my way up or go somewhere to get a solid training experience that would allow me to get the gig I wanted. This school is well worth the investment and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to learn a little more about bartending!

It teaches you a lot of info, thats for sure. There is only one person who actually teaches, Janet, and she is motivated to help us learn. The other director mostly just sits in her office, if she is even there. The school itself, is very dirty. The whole place smells like dirty dog. The class room is full of dust, it literally gave me a sinus headache every time I came to class. Youre paying for the textbook, you have to study and memorize everything. The job placement is a joke. They do not really care about where you go, they care more about recruiting new students. Makes sense, more money in their pocket. It is not worth the price. Even there promotional price is still extremely expensive ($700) and full price is $1000. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. It would almost be better to start off as a waitress at a restaurant and then move up to bartender. You would save a ton of money and a ton of headaches. And, you would work with someone who actually wants you to get a job.

The owner was one of the rudest women I have ever met in my life. She barely wanted to open the door for me, was extremely cold in demeanor and cut me short when I was speaking. She completely turned me off of this establishment.

Let me tell you something, this school changed my life completely. Most places require you to start as a server or barback, and work your way up (typically for a long time) before you can earn a bartending position; Since getting my certification, I’ve had job offers thrown at me left and right. I’ve turned down jobs at casinos and bars. I’ve had the luxury of leaving jobs (due to hostile work environments, lazy coworkers, being treated poorly, and being taken advantage of) and have had employers ready for me to start working for them the very next day- every single time.. I’m blessed to say that I am now at a job that I love and I’ll be at for a very long time. Furthermore, I’ll be the only bartender working a private event for one of the Sharks from the show Shark Tank this Friday! All thanks to Beth! I highly suggest PBSA KC. If you’re willing to do the work, it can change the course of your life!

The place is a huge joke. The comments of no job placement and giving you leads from Craigslist...all true. Theyll tell you anything to get your money. The other comment of places telling you to be a server first...also true. Big waste of money and the owner knows it. She can run her loud mouth all she wants and threaten to get her red pen but its still a fat ripoff. Spend your money at your own risk. Id like to know how much money they paid the five star reviews!?

A fine experience. Works around my schedule, the teachers seem to know a ton about these drinks. They teach both technique and the history behind the bar. The binders they supply for each student alone is a very helpfull guide to recipes and key words to listen for. 8 classes. 2 tests. Then with some personality and hard work, start bartending yourself!

I dont agree with the other reviews that say this place is a rip off. I took the class in April and was really satisfied. I got lots of help when it came to finding a job and Ive doubled my weekly income. Its not a rip off. But I will say this....I worked really hard in the classes and did exactly what I was told when it came to finding a job. I also have a friend who did the course and she agrees with me. You cant trust the review of someone who probably expected to just pay their tuition and not have to do anything more.

Beth is an amazing teacher all around. She prepares you for ANY type of bartending. High end to just a cheap bar. I got a bartending job the week right after I finished my course. I know there are a lot of websites that say bartending school is a waste of money. Trust me ITS NOT. You have to put the work in to actually get a job even though she gives you contacts to speak to. Bartending school can be pricey however, its worth it. She teaches you just about everything and I felt so ready when I actually started working and I have a true passion for it now! If you are going to bartending school just to find a bartending job... dont waste your time just start off as a barback and work your way up. But if you want to go to actually learn how to make drinks, history, actual knowledge, and insight about alcohol go. Worth the experience. And a added plus BETH IS OUTSTANDING. She actually cares and keeps in contact with you and if you ever have a question about ANYTHING even after you are done she is a text away. Excellent excellent school.

I love this place! It’s like getting 5 years of bartending experience! I learned so much in a short amount of time. Your textbook gives you a wide variety of recipes and is included in your tuition. The way that they are listed makes it easy to memorize. Each day of class is a different chapter in your text. Beth teaches you how to make the drinks properly, teaches you history on the alcohol along with critical information that every bartender needs to know! During the lecture portion of the class, you taste different drinks as you go along, so that you are able to identify why they are made a specific way. After you learn about the drinks, you make the drinks yourself! After our martinis and manhattans chapter, we took a field trip to a gin distillery! It’s a great atmosphere and Beth is a blast to be around! She also gives you jobs to apply for that best suits you and what you are looking for! If you are even considering going, I encourage you to drop in and check it out! It’s wirth every penny!
