Ruskin isnt what most people make it out to be, its a great school for young people to learn and grow. Ive had a lot of opportunities at Ruskin. The teachers are caring, helpful, and encouraging. Ive also met many great people. It was a good experience.

I have met many wonderful people here in Ruskin High School. There are numerous gifted, talented, inteligent people in this school who are destined to do incredible things in the future. Ruskin provides all the necessary tools for every student to succeed only if the student chooses to do so. Every student has the opportunity to develope a great bond with peers, teachers or administrators. The bond we develope with each other allows us to do better.

Last year as a sophomore my daughter was on superintendents advisory counsel, principals advisory counsel, A+ program, multiple AP classes and also played sports. More than 1/2 of the student body are just like my daughter! They bust their butts to get an education! Ruskin High School is like any other high school. If you allow yourself to play into drama you have issues. Keep your nose clean and you are golden! Some children just need better rearing at home! You cant expect Ruskin to make bruised fruit shiny and new again they can only patch what has already been broken!!! STOP BLAMING THE SCHOOL FOR POOR PARENTING!!!

I graduated from Ruskin High School in 1944, Prof Burke was Principal when I was a Freshman, Marvin Langford was Principal when I graduated. The student body reached a total of 100 students my final year. I went on to earn Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees. A little square brick box in the middle of a cornfield. Great memories, some not so great, but I doubt I would have pursued further education had it not been for the encouragement of Marvin Langford and the families of some of my student friends. Ordinary little schools in ordinary places can produce extraordinary graduates if the kids are willing to take it seriously.

I graduated from this school and this school district back in 2014. I grew up going to Ingels Elementary and Smith-Hale Middle (the original building). I was there when the district consolidated back in 2010. I was with that group. Did I complain? I did. Was I prepared for college? Maybe. Did RHS prepare me for the real world? Thats debatable. But! Did I make it to college? I did. Am I pursuing a degree? Yes. Just goes to show that it doesnt matter what school you go to. Success is always with you if youre willing to go after it.Now, dont take me for a fool: lunch was still miserable, the building water fountains were a scare and, heating and cooling is not a 70 year old buildings strongest point... Nonetheless, I still enjoyed my time here at RHS. I enjoyed my time with a large majority of the teachers that were there (and still are there) and, I hope the future classes will enjoy this school as much as I did.
