Wanted to love this place, but Esther was late to every lesson and constantly on her phone during them. Never was taught about safety, especially for a beginner. I was even told I could handle her horses without her there and get them all ready, which was a little uncomfortable for me. Had an ansy/spooked lesson horse who was a lil jumpy on my third lesson and then on the fourth I was thrown off. Nothing was reassuring for me and I just saw red flags so I didnt return after that. I dont believe this is a good place to begin riding at all, but perhaps rather for more advanced riders unfortantely.

I purchased 2 Groupons for lessons. After many questions via text about my riding history (it didn’t seem like she was really reading my responses) I was told there was one opening for a lesson. I was going to be out of town that day. I asked for another opening. It was December and she told me she didn’t have another lesson until March. March!First of all my Groupon expired in February.Secondly, don’t offer a Groupon if you’re THAT busy!?!?

Writing this review to balance out the single 1-Star review that was posted. Ive taken dressage lessons under Esther Hilner for several months and have known her as part of the equine community in So. Nevada for 5 years. She begins with the basics with attention to detail of basic horsemanship and builds on that. And with her relationship with Groupon it makes it more reasonable to get started if you are just testing the waters of equestrianism and not sure if it is for you or not.I definitely recommend Talisman Farm.
