This place is awful. STAY AWAY from some popular kids.. they are rude. And the only good teacher is Mr.ward! No but some kids just need to stop. There are two popular types of people. There is people like me and are just there for fun and work and there are people who are rude and disrespectful. They try to intimidate everyone even know they are probably shorter than you.

The school sucks, teaching is substandard, kids fight almost every day. Why do I give this school 5 stars? The orchestra teacher IS the best! The children excel under his tutelage. Concerts are fun and entertaining with quality playing and music.

Escobedo would get zero stars but to leave a review I had to give them something. Escobedo admin staff is hands down the worst. They dont care about the kids but the numbers. My husband gained full custody and when we tried to put the kids in our zone the school refused. Because of this refusal my step daughter was put in a precarious situation. Had we been allowed to move the kids our daughter would be ok. By the way we had documents stating bio mom moved out of state and we have custody. We live in Henderson and have to drive the kids 31 miles and have to put them in daycare. Not happy with Escobedo at all.

There is no discipline at Escobedo at all. The weak people in charge at the middle school are afraid of these children, but it should be the other way around. The only way to take charge of this failing school is to crack down on the bad apples. Peace through strength always works better than peace through fear. Discipline is not what it used to be.

When people say this school is ghetto, theyre wrong. Just kids giving lousy opinions. The reasons this school is a 3 star is because of the kids, and the school isnt even that bad. When people think of fights here its about one punch, thats it. Not like a gun fight, people really over exaggerate it. It really is a nice school overall.

Well ya know im not going to go into detail but what are you supposed to expect when you walk into a school and see in bright bold letters Welcome To The Dog Pound. You know pretty much dog prison. Dogs Starve there and are put to death there you know the usual. Its just so amazing that people actually agreed to to have that on our school.

Real bad, bad school... and gets even worse! Teachers are careless and kids cuss all the time. No discipline, No learning, No p.e! Students dont have time to finish their launch and everything else is so disorganized! Its really sad that a lot of parents just dont have any choice but to send their kids to this school. Stupid careless principal! Low class school!!

Escobedo is a great school and students receive help when they need it. The teachers are kind and they do care about student safety.

Student safety is a joke; weekly fundraiser emails/ calls/ flyers go out but nothing regarding safety. Too many kids are fighting, and getting hit by cars. Easier to get a hold of God than the principal; counselor, namely Ms. Coop, is RUDE and feels inconvenienced by parents. Classes, of course, overcrowded with unruly kids. CCSD Curriculum is the worst and dont even consider trying to get your straight-A student ahead... answer is a big NO!!! Little to no parent communication. Kids discouraged from taking initiatives, like starting a club and told by staff that tennis is not really tennis, just kids running around. Dess code enforced selectively. Teachers criticize my all-honor student for being QUIET in classroom... Yes, thats right, the one that isnt interrupting, talking, shouting is criticized directly by teachers for staying focused and allowing lessons to continue. I DESPISE Escobedo MS but it is a pretty average representation of any CCSD school.

Kids throw rocks at local residents and deal drugs right outside of the school. You are better off keeping your kids out of school than sending them here.

Awesome school.Very well maintained, and clean, the personnel is very friendly, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. My boy is very happy here

Im so excited to go here and I am mostly excited about meeting new people and my friends that are attending this school along my side.

Ms Morse the assistant principle and Ms Paris is a dean at this school. Ive witnessed Ms. Paris telling one of the children she was going to call the police on them if they didnt do what she said. Ive also had to call the superintendent and principle multiple times due to different instances where they were reprimanding Black students at a disportionate rate. Ive been told by several staff members including a (former dean) that this administration doesnt know how to deal with black children and their parents. Ms Morse has used profanity directed to my child and refused to meet with me regarding her behavior. Do not send your child here, they will RPC your child without providing any reason, simply stating youll receive paperwork.

I am going to this school and I have heard great things besides false rumors saying the school is ghetto but besides that the school looks and sounds pretty great. So Im excited for my seventh grade year.

Student safety is a joke. The staff are horrible except for a few exceptions but other than that they are rude and could care less about the student safety and education. Most the teachers have no idea on how to teach a class room. The kids are horrible and in general are not good kids. PLEASE enroll your child in another school for you and your kids sake.

This is one of the worse schools in the CCSD. 30% of the students couldnt care less and curse at the teachers, other students and each other. Substitute teachers dont want to come by and the teachers that care are fighting a losing battle. The principal is MIA and is a joke amongst the student body.Run from this school like the plague, get a second job and send your child to a private school or move somewhere else if you can.

Its a very enduring school, nice people and nice staff...no theres not a fight everyday, but there are fights in general but then again what school dosnt have fights? I love this school Ive gone here all 3 years of Esco and Im happy every year.

This school is poorly run and the kids have the upper hand. There are serious problems here and they are not even addressed at all. Several fights in one week span is unacceptable. Staff does not even reach the bare minimum needs of kids. Only gave one star because there is no choice of 0. Just because school is located in a some what lower income area does not excuse the school and staff from giving the kids what they deserve.....110%

I am currently attending this school and everything is fine. Of course their fights but I have a feeling that would happen at all middle schools.the teachers that I have have been there for quite a long time and care about their students. I am in all ACC classes so I do not know how the teachers are in the other classes but some of my friends are not ACC and they love their teachers. Som people are saying that there is no pe. There is no pe for seventh graders which is one down side but it is provided for 6th and 8th. There is cursing but teenagers are going to be teenagers. Its not like middle school is a place for babies. So with everything escobedo is a fine school

Honestly this school is not that bad , the new tardy bell is strict only because many students are ditching classes ,which carries out threw the entire school day , regardless of the other reasons students must act mature and follow this rule, because of many students failing due to the lack of attendance, Escobedo had to be strict. This school does make me feel safe, however student behavior in classes and inbetween classes are innapropriate.This school also requires you to choose an elective however many students are now being forced to join an elective because the amount of students is growing. The teachers and staff members are polite and care about each and every student. The student council members make up fun activites and many school dances envolving every grade. Honestly this school does have problems, however its not a bad school.

I tried to apply for a different school and the principal is not trained enough to know that its okay for me to go to a magnet school and she is just hoarding kids, even though my school of choice had space, they wouldnt let me go
