Idk if it’s because I’m used to the way California does things or what but usually when you’re working with a academic advisor representative they work with you and keep you updated along the enrollment process. I was interested in this school’s respiratory therapy program and I tried to take the Wonderlic assessment as well as the math assessment and it has been a hassle to retake my exam. I’ve had to call the school continuously just to get access to retake the assessment. Susan had answered the phone and she spoke to me as if she was agitated and told me that she is not accepting applicants until august 30th. Well I like to take the necessary steps ahead of time so that I could be prepared the moment that they begin accepting applications for the program that I am interested in. Susan also told me that she would send me an email with a link to the assessment test 3 days ago and she never did. Forget this school. Seems as if the staff here don’t even want to seem to do their job and that gives me a bad first impression of this school. It wasn’t even this hard for me when I got accepted into nursing school.

Its rushed between the school still trying to make the most money and flip as many students as possible youll notice a chaotic energy my classes are set up in strange blocks so even though Im fairly new to my program Im in a class with students who are far ahead of me. Which also means your lessons will be backwards instead of working through step one to get to step five you just jump directly into step 20 and you are expected to be up to speed. Everything is rushed expect to cover very dense heavy topics recive little to no study material ( or just make your own) and have major test twice a week. They do print out a nifty calendar for you to but thats about it. I think the school is more concerned with keeping its lights on more than giving quality education. I wouldnt recommend just because csn is cheaper and youll probably have more options and have more flexibility in your education this school is very big on being professional so that takes the front seat. If you do go just know its all you to create study material and Google will probably teach you more or help fill in these large confusing gaps . Go somewhere else or check and see if schooling is actually required no need to take out a lone if the program you are interested in doesnt even require a certificate. Save yourself the stress

I have had nothing but amazing things to say about PIMA and everyone involved throughout this process. Susan, in the admissions dept. was absolutely amazing, kind and genuine. Marie in financial aide is also very thorough, and tries to help find the best solution for you. And Miss Mackenzie has also been great!!I feel that a lot of times, unfortunately people are more willing to post about a place they have been if they have a bad experience. Thats very unfortunate because PIMA has been nothing but compassionate, helpful, and really want you to succeed. I always say, learn yourself and do not go by what others say, rather come up with your own conclusions. And Id also say, if you really are interested and if any of these reviews turn you away, please dont. Because you would be doing yourself a huge disservice.

Pima has done a wonderful job in dealing with these very difficult times. When we signed up for this school, it was talked about that we are all rolling with the punches because of covid. If there is a concern, there is an appropriate time and place. Please reach out to current students if you are trying to find out about this school and decide your future. Im ok and proud to be a student at PIMA as it is a difficult program and it should be. We will be dealing with peoples lives and it should be taken seriously. The program director, Ms. Jenn does a wonderful job and if you have any questions or concerns, she helps! She guides you, and helps you succeed. But you also have to put the work in.

Respiratory Therapy Program for Las Vegas is extremely poor. This pandemic has completely ruined Pima. The program is down to three instructors. One instructor, Mrs. Jenn, will also be your Program Director. She easily gets distracted by her ten children during online classes. She stated she had another job as a director elsewhere and often her assignments, quizzes and FINAL EXAMS will have several errors. Students often send her corrections to her own materials. She is incredibly disorganized and lacks time to give her students quality education. She shouldn’t be responsible for so much work.Everything is basically online. Even classes you would expect to be hands on, will be online. If they told you that it may change, it hasn’t, it won’t because this virus will never go away and the guidelines are ever changing. Carrington at least tries to get their students hands on experience prior to clinicals and they do.Since mostly everything is online and there’s an obvious staff shortage, you will mostly fend for yourself. You will rely on the internet, on Google, on your books. Contacting your instructors is possible but receiving a timely response is near impossible. Tbf I can list the other two instructors here as bad, but essentially they upright explain that they’re too busy to deal with most things and you’ll have to mostly find your own answers. All this for $46,000 tuition. $46k. You can pay less than half of that in CSN and receive the same quality. Hell, you probably can buy private tutors while in CSN and STILL not come close to $46k just to be neglected. Oh, btw, Mrs. Jenn has mentioned on different occasions that Pima gives their employees lucrative incomes, stocks and bonuses. Which isn’t something that should be bragged about while her students struggle to get quality education. We’re already stuck until we graduate later this year, turn away now.

I was looking into the RC program and had a chance to speak to a Mr. Bill. He was kind, attentive, and listened to what I was communicating. I was excited about my appointment to speak to an enrollment counselor. Today was absolutely terrible. The counselor who contacted me was rude and condescending. She undermined everything I had to say, regarding me with no respect and absolutely reassured me that this is not an institution I want to invest any money in. She was cold, didn’t listen to Me, continually made me repeat myself because she wasn’t listening and tried to make me feel small. If this is the personality type that enrolls students, I don’t want to invest my 45K and risk coming across another unprofessional personality like this. The woman I spoke with was Diveena (I apologize for any spelling issues).I was excited about this opportunity because of Mr. Bill and having a conversation about my future and my goals. It’s a shame this was the next stepping stone. I have zero desire in pursuing anything at this institution.

After 2 weeks of calling, I never got a call back. Last conversation I had with a PIMA rep, they said I was scheduled for a call back in a matter of 5 minutes, but never received one. Spoke to another rep today and they said sorry, but it’s their process. I guess speaking to multiple reps and being told different processes is “part of their process”. Not to mention they do not document their conversation with you, so you have to explain everything and your experience with a new rep. ✌️

I love this school but Ms. Wheeler in Career Services is so rude and disrespectful. If you need anything from this department DO NOT go to Ms. Wheeler. She is not helpful at all and makes you feel like you are disturbing her no matter what day or time is it. She made me feel like Im nothing but scum on her shoe. I walked out feeling very depressed. I spoke to my friend about it and she said Oh, Never go to Ms. Wheeler. Always go to Ms. Johnson she will help you with whatever you need. The next day I walked by and saw Ms. Johnson. I asked her for help and she gave me the biggest smile, waved me over to have a seat. She helped me with my questions. She is the nicest person there. Was interested in enrolling. But kept getting pushed to enroll before I was ready and wouldnt work with my work schedule. When I wanted to enroll for the class and month I could I never heard back from the advisor. And when I did, he said I couldnt enroll that far in advance. I tried to schedule meetings and sent emails with questions I had and never heard back from this advisor. Seems like you need to go when they want you to and they dont understand how some people have full time jobs and bills to think about as well. I also was told by my advisor that the field I wanted to study wouldnt make me any money and I should go for something else. Nice advisor huh?

Receiving my Medical Assistant education here at Pima is the best decision I have ever made in my life. Going back to school at the young age of 55:)), it was a huge decision for me. I was concerned about my age and the with the general age of the majority of students much younger than myself, I had concerns about fitting in and getting the education I sought. From the instructors to the staff, they are nothing short of wonderful and engaging, clearly wanting the success of their students their utmost priority. I am not a number here at Pima Medical, instead the staff makes the students feel like we are family. The bonds I have made here are so invaluable and I absolutely believe Pima Medical Institute is by far the best school here in Las Vegas. From the moment I walked in the door to tour the school until the first night of school, I was so nervous, however I didnt feel alone, the staff took part in my journey and Im so happy I chose Pima for my education. I know friends who have gone to other schools for their certificate in Medical Assistant who didnt have the same quality and in depth education that I have received here, clearly Pima is in a class by itself when it comes to educating and preparing their students for success in the medical field. I would recommend Pima to anyone and everyone who wants to pursue an education in the health field. Incidentally, I did consider other educational facilities prior to Pima, but after coming here to visit, I knew I had made the best choice for myself regarding my education. Graduation is fast approaching and I couldnt have done it without the assistance of everyone at Pima. Pima Medical Institute, hands down, a clear cut ABOVE the rest out there!!

I liked the school, but I dont like that some of the staff is just rude and dont even help you out. I was told I cant get my certificate until a few weeks later even though they sent it to my old address even though I told them I could go to the school to go get it, and I also asked them if I could get a copy of my immunization records and they told me that it would take me days to get which I think is ridiculous. Ive also been asking for a fax number, but no one will give me the fax number even though I am trying to request a letter of completion. ridiculous.

Pima is clean and quiet. Youll get a lot of work done during class and after. I graduated from their Pharmacy Technician course in fall 2013. Class for me was 8am to 12 pm, four hours, every weekday. Homework was able to be finished in class 90% of the time. I suggest attending Pima if you already have someone who can help you get a job. Im fortunate enough to have a cousin working at a pharmacy so finding a job was not at all difficult. Only a few of my pharm classmates are in the field because they have connections. The school kind of... just lets anyone in, though.. I had an elderly classmate who slowed the class down. However, if you are an above average student, youll do great. Dont waste your time and money if youre not passionate about pharmacology. Good luck!

Heard about this school from family friends. was told that it’s a great experience, quick and easy. signed up, right away I knew something was off about paying $14,000 for the learning experience that includes: 5 hours of “school time”, 2 hours (out of the 5) that are lunch breaks, and early dismissals. from that they expect 100% performance on quizzes and exams. what!? they say go to tutoring but when can you when it’s only after 5 o clock and you have a job and/or family to maintain. not to mention, I failed a class and had to wait a month to retake it because the next class was full. in that month they took money out of my account and didn’t notify me that I would still have to pay for that month I was not attending school. quickly cancelled and still in debt $800 because the $500 I already paid wasn’t enough. highly recommend going somewhere else if you take longer to understand the material and want better learning.

When I was in my externship she helped me with any and all issues I had no matter how big or small. All the students I went to class with have the same thoughts. She is one of the most loved people in the administration. This is a school that really wants you to succeed. I would recommend this school 100%.

Ha! It’s a joke! You’re scheduled for 5 hours a day. But, PLAN on going on “break” for around 2 hours every day and you will get “dismissed early” about 95% of your days there. But, then they expect basic perfection when you take your tests. Go SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Your tutition pays for syringes with no calibrations and vials that are so used that the rubber stopper leaks not to mention we don’t get to practice garbing up and don’t get to wear gloves, we are often times out of alcohol pads and the pharmacy equipment doesn’t work. Apparently Pima is more concerned about saving money rather than giving a proper education THAT WE ARE PAYING FOR. We get nothing close to the real world experience of working in this field of study. On top all the unprofessionalism that occurs among the staff. And that is what $14,000 pays for.

If I could give this a 0 rating, I would. Attended here a few years ago for dental assisting and although I graduated with a 4.0 I was not offered more than $11 per hour (I was making more than that w/out a degree previously) topping out at $20 per hour after 10+ years experience as all dental offices I applied for stated they dont like to hire people without experience for more than that...how are you supposed to get experience and earn enough to pay for housing, bills, food, etc and pay back your school loans if you cant even make enough money per month to cover the average rent in this city ($11 ph x 40 hpw x 4 wpm = $1760 before taxes are taken out!)?! Now Im $18,000+ in school loan debt and thought that Id be starting a well paying career...what a SCAM this is. This should be against the law for them to set people up into these programs where youre mostly getting yourself in permanent debt rather than bettering your life like you should be able to do after attending college. This is robbery against the American people... taking advantage of people and putting them in extreme debt just to set them up to never make enough money to pay all their bills alone.

If you want to make any kind of decent money your only option is to go back to school for vet tech but meanwhile ur wasting $12,000 as a vet assistant and expected to pay an even bigger loan for vet tech while still trying to figure out how to pay back your first one. Do not go to this school. They tell you everyone prefers Pima students to csn students but when I got to my Externship I found out thats bs. They dont like Pima students because they rush u thru your program and u dont learn enough to know what your doing. Vet assistants dont make squat. Maybe if your lucky $10 an hour. But I was only offered minimum wage and on a high, 20 hrs a week. We dont go to school, pay thousands of dollars just to make minimum wage. Thats what fast food jobs are there for. Dont let them screw you over like they did me. Your gonna waste your time and your money and have nothing to show for it.
