Gibson middle school was the best middle school I ever been to! I stood here for both grades (6,7, and 8). I made a lot of friends and I wish middle school had never came to an end.

This school is one of the greatest schools Ive gone to. The leadership program is a great way to learn actual skills like good manners and public speaking. The teachers are really nice and the school has great programs. Orchestra is amazing here, the jazz band is extraordinary and the drumline is always amazing and lively. I would recommend going here. There are some bad kids here but there are bad kids everywhere you go.

Would not recommend.From the poor infrastructure to the poor lectures it doesn’t get any worse than this place. When I left Gibson in 2020 at that time there was a rat problem that had yet to be handled. Most of the staff, not all but most are straight up rude and unprofessional for no reason. The leadership academy has some good aspects but for the most part it is not worth it, would not recommend applying. The administration is full of people who do not care about the well being of students. The counselors do not help with anything they just sit there. Do not send your child here. The multiple security breaches that happen every year and the predatory behavior of some teachers is not a good welcome sign.

I thought was ok, I mean the staff was nice, but some of the kids at the school, are disrespectful to everyone, and thats saying something because most of these kids are in a leadership program, where the kids should be learning to respect and be nice. The electives are great Im in a robotics program, which is super high quality, the musical department is also high quality but if your in it in sixth grade, expect to play 1 song over and over and over again. Overall, the school is great the staff is great the electives are great, and the leadership program could have some work (Sorry for not mentioning earlier, but Im not in the leadership program (Looking at general act of kids in program)) Great School

I go to Gibson and first of all not all schools are perfect. I heard about all the bad stuff and you know what that is a lie. I love Gibson it has good opportunities. the teachers are cool and they get you to know what you have to know. the students are friends who have your back. yes there a re students who have to be set straight but hello dean and principal.

Absolutely dislike this school. Students can curse in front of teachers and they could care less! The teachers can for nothing more than themselves, the dean is so ridiculous!! The dean will RPC you for nothing! Just so you are gone from the school. The rules and dress code is so ridiculous it’s unbelievable!! As if the ‘Gibson Great 8’ works, nobody follows those rules. My friend got called into the deans because she hasnt been there in a while and they were getting suspicious!! How rude is that to asume they are doing something bad!! Dont get me started on the ‘Leadership’ program. You do the same thing the entire year and is a absolute waste of time and money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

This skool sucks ass as you can see I have terrible grammar and there bathroom nasty and I would give them 0 Starz but cNt I made the mistake of sighing up for the leadership program and its really useless just a extra class of doing nothing.

This school sucks, to be honest with you guys. Just got back from school to write this, so any adults who actually read this know what the school really is like. We had a Sub for third and sixth period because its a split class, so these two girls walk in late. They have a pass from te nurse but its written in her agenda and since there was only one agenda and two girls, he sent both of them out, they came back with two separate passes from the nurse. The teachers mad and tell one of the girls(the teacher was Mr.Coen, I think thats how you spell it, hes the coach of basketball or sports) that hes gonna take it out her brother because her brother was on the team, so obviously the girl starts crying, the girls friend who was late gets mad and starts telling the teacher he shouldnt take it out on her brother, to take it out on them. So they argue and argue for about 5 minutes, but the teacher(this got me so mad) saysYou dont win, I win, I always win because IM THE TEACHER. The girl is crying and to make it even worse the teachers tells the girl whos crying Tears dont hurt. Which really makes me mad because he might take her brother off the team. I couldve put a lot of cusswords in this, but I didnt cause its not school appropriate, but you already know my name is Friendly Player( I think it says my name is that) and I know its rude( according to Gibson rules) and my name is Friendly Player, but honestly I had to share this to show how rude some of the teachers are. There are 30 kids, who were there and saw him. This was in sixth period, Mr. Curdys class(the substitute was Mr.Coen obviously.)

I Love This School. I Went To RO Gibson For 2 Years & It Was Amazing. I Went To West Prep For My 6th Grade Year & It Was Horrible. RO Gibson Is Way Better & Its Really Fun & The Teachers Are Super Funny & Nice. This Was My Last Year Of Middle School & I Really Enjoyed It. 2013-2015 I Will Be Going To Westen For My High School Years So Yeah Haha :) Once A Scot, Always A Scot

Lack of help/concern from office staff when desperately trying to help my children with behavior issues from other middle schoolers

I go to R.O Gibson Middle School this is my last year there but i have had a great experience , its true not every school is perfect and not everything they say about R.O Gibson is true . If this school were truly terrible then i wouldnt be an accelerated student reading at a college grade level and doing math at an eleventh grade level when Im only in eighth grade . Anyway i have had a great experience the teachers are amazing and very supportive . There are clubs for everyone no matter what your into youll find something . There are some kids that are real trouble makers that shouldnt be doing certain things but the majority of the kids that attend this school are great very intelligent children . This school allows us to be teenagers and live life as young adults and give us a cwe4rtain amount of freedom that not many people will give us . this rating i guess turned out to be a love letter to this amazing middle school . If your thinking about sending you children to this school dont think about it send them , they will have such a great time and learn thousands of things and have fun while doing this .

My son sean had been there on a zone variance.i specifically asked if if it was good for his 8th grade year.they said everything was okay.i drop him off for first day of school,only for my son to sit in the office and they call me and tell me he isnt registered.idiots!!!! COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS.very rude and they didnt seem to care .Then just to add salt on the wound Principal triana told me in so many words he wont be going there. what would you think if a principal tell you bring her your sons uniform shirts with receipts and shell sell them to another parent?well if you dont have any room there.who will you be selling them to?why do the school district hire people who only like a certain group of people?how does the prejudice and child rappist always seem to slip through the cracks? editing today 10/23/14 still sucks!!!!

Gibson is an awesome school I went there last year for my 6th grade and I will definitely be attending for my 7th and 8th years. The teachers strive for there students to do there best of course schools will have there problems like fights and ect. and this school does have that but it is still amazing there are a lot of clubs and a lot of oppurtunities for a struggling student to get better your child will definitely benefit from going to this school thats why I rate it 5 stars out of 5. ☺

Ppl miss understand us its true, kids smoke but not all of them we cant do nothing that is done out of school and of course there are gonna be fights there is no school where there isnt our dean strictly put them in their rightful places they didnt like it but they stoped. The teachers are really cool we do great activities during, after, and during summer vacation I would never leave Im an 8th grader and I attend GIBSON MS ~thank you

Its ok but my science teacher was very rude to me and my classmates only because i am hispanic they treat me bad and idk i dont like the students because they are mean and more the students that are supposed to help 😈😈

I suggest not sending your childHere.. kids get into fights, curse out teachers and ect. My friend gose there..we were bff but she chamged because of that school, she died her hair diffrent colors , got a lip piercing , and peoplealso smoke weed with there friends ...and guess what ...kids in six grade smoke weed...so I suggest not going there
