Horrible school, regret sending my child here. Horrible communication from all departments! Zero accountability for there errors. Not a student friendly campus or staff. Very unprofessional and and disorganized!!!! If your child is thinking of enrolling do not allow it. Run!!! Poor advising, Mistakes requiring extra semesters/ years and classes required are not offered...Required course content no provided or offered on a regular a regular basis by instructors setting students up for failure. Department chairs and Deans pass the buck, with a not my problem attitude!!!! Absolute waste of time and money!

I really have enjoyed my experience at New Mexico Highland University. The first and most part that I like about Highlands University is the quality education that they provide for such an adorable rate. I really like how nice and helpful all the staff have been. One of the major positives for me was in the bookstore they give you the option to either buy or rent your books which was a lot more affordable for me. Another major advantage that Highlands provided me with was distance learning courses. My only complaint would be that getting a hold of staff is a littler harder or takes a little longer sometimes. And their website needs work to be more user friendly. Overall Highland University was a very positive experience for me. And I would recommend anybody to consider getting their education at highlands New Mexico University.

I have had a great experience at NMHU.Each and every person I have interacted with at the university, from the registrars office to the technology help desk to the staff at my local branch campus seem to genuinely care about the success of student. The professors are knowledgeable, and add real world experience to the curriculum. They go out of the way to ensure the each student gets everything they want to out of the class. They also crave feedback, and appreciate ways to improve what they are teaching. That was a refreshing change from academics who are certain they already know everything. The best part for me, as a self employed mother and serial volunteer, is the ability to complete upper level classwork in an online environment, without sacrificing the quality of the education. The ability to replay a lecture, get instant feedback with online testing and submit work electronically has made this a far superior learning environment.

The undergraduate business program at NMHU is a hidden gem. It is also one of the most affordable programs I have found. The staff is so knowledgeable in their fields and extremely willing to answer questions you may have regarding what classes to take in order to best prepare you for your future goals. Classes are small within the department, allowing for a great learning experience. Professors have wide ranges of expertise and experience in the business field and are always willing to give guidance regarding education and career goals. I was incredibly lucky to find it.

Despite being originally apprehensive about the small campus, I was almost immediately won over by the friendliness and support of NMHU School of Business professors and staffs. Almost all of the classes are infinitely interesting and professors here genuinely care about their students. Online classes give a great opportunity for non-traditional students to pursue higher education in a more accessible way. The department on the main campus gives off a warm and friendly feel where professors, staffs, and students know each other and that we are a part of this great community. I am given so many opportunities here that I would not be able to acquire should I have gone to a different university. For that, I am forever grateful.

I have been impressed with the faculty and classes that I have taken. My adviser has been a great help. She drove to Santa Fe to meet with me in person and has been quick to respond to e-mails. I find that the MBA program is both affordable and flexible and it accommodates my fulltime work schedule.

Never apply here!!! My girlfriend has been missed advised for 1 to 2 years being told to take classes she couldnt take or didnt apply for her degree and when one advisor said to take one class in the fall to graduate, when fall arrives this semester they now tell her she needs three classes. When she tries to apply for those three classes they wouldnt let her register for them. She was going to get her masters through them but now she is out of there. Last night she spent two hours to register for any class just to get done, leave, and finally start a master program next semester. Wasted 2 years taking classes that didnt count toward a degree and then waiting for a class that is only offered in the fall then to be told she needed two more classes. Very disgraceful how they run things and breaks my heart to see my girlfriend being told different stories when she just wants to graduate.

Overall I have had a very positive experience in my MBA program. Highlands offers a very convenient schedule of online, evening classes that fit into a full-time work schedule. The classes offered provide an overview of all business elements and many require a lot of research and participation. You get out of it what you put into it for sure!

I GIVE AN EXTREME NEGATIVE 👎 FOR THEIR FOOTBALL COACHING... I NEED TO FIND OUT ABOUT HOW I CAN FILE AGAINST ONE OF THE COACHES THAT IS RACIST AND I WILL NOT BE SATISFIED UNTIL HE IS DEALT WITH AND I AM TURNING HIM INTO THE EDUCATIONAL BOARD... HE IS NOT FIT TO BE ON NOTHING EDUCATIONAL AND THAT GOES FOR ANYONE WHO CONDONES THIS... TRUST ME I AM COMING AFTER YOU THROUGH PEN AND PAPER... NOT AS LOW AS YOU HAVE TREATED THOSE STUDENTS THAT HAVE MADE THE SCHOOL WHAT IT IS... JUST SHAKING MY HEAD ALONG WITH BEING HIGHLY UPSET...

I have been attending NMHU off and on for a few years now. I think the advantage and dis advantage of the program is the on line classrooms. The advantage is a flexible schedule and the ability to take your classes from the comfort of your home. The dis advantage is I do miss being in an actual classroom. It takes a lot more effort to stay focused at home then it does in a classroom. I am happy I am able to finish my education though since I work full time and for that I am thankful for NMHU.

MIddle of nowhere..Garbage institution. If your doing a distance learning class their reckless and useless.Their financial aid office is lazy dont show up to work, or leave early.Had to hound them to get paper work done. They have to be tracked down due to small town worth ethic of complacency.Education (teaching)department division is the same way.Completely unprofessional behavior from education instructors.Obvious signs of favor to certain students. One male professor was called out by other students displaying rude behavior towards a student after online class.Obvious disorder seen in staff. If your in town maybe worth it but distance learning was a disaster.Science department had a good. re pore with my organic chem teacher he was fantastic when I met him for summer school. They recently reorganized some programs cant say much on that department.

NMHU has offered an exceptional program to its students (particularly the school of business). I have had great experiences with almost all of my professors and fellow classmates, and learned more than I had expected through taking online courses. The school is very diverse which is something that is rewarding to see as a student, and the incorporation of that into student programs makes this school very profound in its own way.

Upon graduating from High School I was recruited for Track and Field to NMHU. Born and raised in Las Vegas my initial thought was free school, finish as quick as possible and get out of Las Vegas.I really had no clue how college actually worked, how scholarships worked, what classes to start with, where work study was available, etc. Thankfully, I had an amazing advisor and the staff at NMHU was happy to assist me along the way. One thing I did know was that I wanted to complete my degree in Business, but I didnt know what concentration I was interested in. Again, an amazing professor led me toward a concentration in finance which I loved then and now work in the finance field which I also love.In looking back what begin as ONLY the financially conscious option turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only did I eliminate student debt, but I was paid to go a school where the staff and faculty cared about the success of their students!

NMHU is amazingly less expensive than UNM, it also has smaller classes that are more hands on and interactive. It is a lot easier to schedule everyday life around the online classes. The professors are great for the most part, some are hard to get in contact with outside of class, but over all its worth being able to go to school from home.

Such a terrible experience. The education isnt terrible, but definitely not top university status. Had some teacher make up curriculum through out the semester which ended in tons of confusion. The worst part is their administration. Registration/Financial and anything related to getting help is a nightmare. Didnt get call backs or responds to emails for days. Also, everyone is on different pages.

Nope!!! We travelled all the way from ABQ so my friend could get a book she needed.....omgosh!! Theres NO communication going on between offices, nobody seems to know anything, we were shuffled from office to office. Needs some serious work on the organization end, but ppl were as helpful as the knowledge that they did have about their surroundings allowed. My friend is going to scan the 1st chapter of MY book, rather than go back, or worse, become behind in class. Get it together everyone!!! It was just Xmas break....... 😕😒😧

As an online MBA student, I appreciate the quality of the education offered by NMHU. The classes I have taken have been interesting and relevant to the business world. For the most part, the professors have been very helpful and supportive. The flexibility of the online classes that are scheduled for working adults has made it possible for me to pursue by MBA while working full time. I appreciate the efforts by the professors to create community for online students. I have also really appreciated the support I receive from the NMHU Farmington Center. It is nice to know that they are always willing to answer a question or solve a problem.

I have enjoyed my experience at New Mexico Highlands University.I chose NMHU because it allowed me to continue to work full-time while pursuing an MBA. I have been very impressed with how interactive classes are. Not all professors have taken advantage of the webcam feature, but now that its been used in my last semester, I love it because it really personalizes my education. I feel connected to the university, professors, and students.Although some professors are hard to reach, some others respond to you very fast. They are very knowledgeable in their fields and are willing to help out anytime you ask for help. Without NMHU, I wouldnt be able to pursue an MBA at this time.

Im glad I made the decision to attend NMHU, I couldnt imagine otherwise.

I am in my Junior year at NMHU. So far I have completed 2 courses, and am taking 4 currently. Being that Highlands has a branch at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center it has made me earning a BBA a reality. All the courses I will take over the next year are online but not at a self pace. NMHU distance ed is setup more like a virtual class. This works for me being in my 30s and having young children.
